Another 700 miles left on my Chevy powertrain warranty. Pretty sure I'll be driving to a Honda dealership by September.

Powertrain is up already?  I figured you'd just be getting out of bumper to bumper!

Chevy Colorado with the Duramax 2.8. They put a liquid filled pulley on it to dampen the diesel pulses. I thought at first na that can't be it, alternators don't leak but yep that's it.

I did not realize they did that!  It wasn't covered in the New engines training I took.  Oh well.

I don't see any bulletins, either.  Interesting.  We don't usually see many Chevy trucks at the Cadillac dealership anyway.

I'm guessing it's a fiberglass door and poorly finished fiberglass not actually the paint. I don't really know but it reminds me of cheap aftermarket fiberglass you would get for a quad or something.

Usually a combination of both.  It actually settles down after a few months, from what I've seen on them.  Still, less than ideal for a new higher-end car.

A good buddy of mine's father works at a Chevy dealer. It is delivered to the dealership without all the body work. A shop mechanic gets the privelage of drilling into the body of a $100k car!

As a GM dealership technician I can say that is (somewhat) BS.  Some (very few) cars have optional body accents, ground effects, spoilers, etc. that get installed at the dealership.  The 2016 Corvette has "rocker panel moldings" "Front lower spoiler" and "rear spoiler" options that would be dealer installed. The rocker moldings do require drilling, but it looks like some of the holes are there from the factory, making fitment a factory issue, the dealership tech just finishes with the remaining holes.

This is almost up there with the Ringo and Exarch threads. Few more pages of "I was bored an this kept me entertain but also fuck the other guy" and it will be complete.

    Don't forget this one:

  7. My subs and amp can EASILY overcome my highs (6.5 in the door panels, tweeters in the A-pillar area) so I didn't bother much with the max gain beyond cranking it up to keep the remote gain control in the middle of the range.  I SHOULD set the gain on mt high's correctly, though.  I think I'll whip out the scope and see what I came up with.  Since I'm at work, and the A/C is keeping it cool in here, and I have all my tools here...

Maybe we should ban him? We could do it for charity. Like, if we can raise $1000 for John's Pumpkin Pedler autism ride I will ban Tonik for a week. Thoughts?

I love the way you often turn fun things into supporting a charity of some sort!  Proof that bikers are good guys!

Shopping around for car insurance.  Online web form for Progressive won't accept a "VIN" of less than 17 characters, but my 1974 MGB only has a 13-characted "Chassis Number".   Called customer service and their advice was; "Can you get it converted to an American VIN#?"

You might be able to, but should not need to.  13 digit VIN's were all that was on American market cars until 1980 or 81 when the 17 digit VINs came about.

I've never celebrated a gay pride day. Never been to a parade. Never marched in a BLM rally. Not sure what you're talking about, really. I know that I don't openly discuss my lack of belief in a higher power with my coworkers, for fear of losing my job. Ever have to worry about that? Losing your job because you're a Christian? Ever been told by the POTUS that you can't be a patriot because you don't believe in ghosts and goblins? Atheists have no moral compass, remember? That's why the majority of child molestors are believers. They have a stronger moral compass than I do.

Also, you bible thumpers have a majority rule in Washington. Something the Founders warned us about. We didn't listen and I'm still converting decimals to fractions because of it.

Where did I say that you celebrated either?  You keep it up and I'm going to vote down pot legalization!

Being able to vote our beliefs is what this country is all about.  And yes, I have had worries at work due to my Christian beliefs.  Maybe not of getting fired (not directly anyway) but of fairness, ridicule, etc.

Oh, and keep the metric system out of this.
