  1. What sort of music were you planning? That makes a difference!
  2. It's been on there 5-6 hours now. I upped the temp to about 325 a couple hours ago. We went with plan b for dinner tonight, and we can have the brisket for tomorrow. I need the brisket for my chili anyway! It's only 150 degrees now, but seems to be pretty tender when probing it with another thermometer.
  3. I didn't know you were going, until we were headed back to my dad's truck to leave. I saw an Ohio Riders sticker, noticed it was on a Tahoe, then saw the Freddie Chevy sticker on the back. I then knew it was 2talltim. I thought there were a LOT of guns, but not much cool stuff. A few older ones here and there, but mainly some beat up stuff, and even the decent stuff was way over priced. There were a few decent deals on tools, but not on anything that I need. Anything that I need was priced at retail, if not above. All in all, it was just a time to hang out with my dad, which doesn't happen, just the 2 of us, all that often anymore.
  4. Except the hour per pound rule is WAY off! That or my temperature is too low! Still going!
  5. Left, where the smoker box is. Indirect heat. The thermometer on the grill is reading around 225-250 range, but I think it might be skewed a bit. I'm going to bring my infrared temp gun home from work to check it sometime.
  6. Here's my setup, going right now. As it started: Here it is a few minutes ago, when I opened the lid to add to the moisture pan, check the chips, and spray the brisket (didn't look as though it needed it, but I did anyway!): Doesn't look much different, but the color shows it is cooking!
  7. I think I might be going this afternoon,a s long as it doesn't rain a shit ton more, and turn it into a mud pit! I just hope that the rain that came overnight soaks in before it gets trampled through turning it into said mud pit.
  8. Mine was some random stuff that I dug out of the cabinet and spice rack. More details if it comes out ok! I will say that it has brown sugar, salt, onion and garlic powders, and a couple varieties of pepper.
  9. I rode! About 10 miles in to town and back.
  10. Rubbed, bagged and ready for some slow and low smoking tomorrow!
  11. What's the quality of the Asrock motherboards? I can't remember ever using one, so I'm curious, especially with as cheap as they are. My last system upgrade I got CPU, Motherboard, RAM, and a SSD. CPU is AMD 8120 eight core, motherboard was free with cpu purchase, Gigabyte 970A-UD3. I forget what the ram is other than it's 8 GB and was cheap for a decent name brand. The SSD was around $100 for a 60GB. This was back in February. I think I have about $350 in it right now, using my old video card (9800GT) and several hard drives that I already had for storage (SSD is OS only rive.) Oh, I had to add a SATA DVD drive, too. I reused the rest.
  12. I will try to remember to! I just hope it turns out halfway decent!
  13. I can see it now: "US Marines. Owned by the US Army."
  14. Wow, that's a lot of hassle to buy from so many different vendors! Also, why a 2.5" hard drive?
  15. Freak watching? Yes. Tool deal? They're hit and miss. Some are priced just below retail, and some are really good deals! As with the guns, you have to know what you're looking at!
  16. If I go it will be Sunday afternoon. A friend (former co-worker) that I haven't seen in quite a few years is coming down from NEO and I said I'd try to meet up with him.
  17. I've been researching Diesel generators, since we have a tank of fuel that would run it sitting right next to the house. Man those things are expensive!
  18. Very interesting. Wondering if Alpine has some of the same sensitivities?
  19. After posting that, I just thought to myself that I never did that very thing for my car, but then I remembered that I don't really need to, since the main battery cable does connect right to the body, then out to the engine block, since the battery is not easily accessible. I have a slight noise in my system, I have 2 Kicker ZR series amps. My noise started when I replaced the alternator, I was just way too lazy to switch it out again for a warranty replacement.
  20. Picked up a 2 1/2 pound brisket tonight to be smoked on the grill sometime this weekend. Now I just need to figure out what I want to use for a rub...
  21. Just an aside on the ground wire to the amp... Almost everyone just runs a ground wire right to the body, which is correct, but most people forget about the other end of the ground circuit, from the negative terminal of the battery to the body. Have you seen how small they usually are from the factory? It's not a bad idea to run a bigger one to carry the large amount of current that the amp will be drawing!
  22. If you can't see it, you're in the wrong room.
  23. I keep one in the tool box, even though I rarely use it. I have a tape measure that is graduated in tenths of an inch that is very handy!
  24. Trolling... You're doing it wrong.
