I agree with the post above mine. But I would also contact the factory, they have reps to help with this shit. Also check around and see if there is a way to disable this 'feature'. There is on many cars.

Dan brings up a valid point, make sure there is enough room on your grip for your hand. If the grips are short and your hands are big it might annoy you a bit. I never had that issue but I always put bigger grips on my bikes as soon as I get them.

I agree an FJ-09 seems like a better fit, that is assuming he fits on it. It tends to run smaller and lower. A Kaw Connie is also looking like a contender.

It's always interesting to see the differences in what people prioritize. I don't care that much about range, but cruise is mandatory for me. You are the other way around. My only suggestion is keep the wants and 'must haves' separate in your head. Otherwise you will drive yourself crazy.

Don't get too hung up on the range. You will probably be with someone that only has that range, or you will want to take a quick break. It is rare I go 150 and rare I knew anyone that wants to.

So describe what kind of riding you intend to do...don't think bike..just think what kind of riding. Long trips, long days...2 up (when hell frezzes over). Mini Iron Butts, whats the end goal here my friend? Medium, medium fast, mach retard?

Red Robin milk shakes are so thick they make me want to kill people. God that pisses me off. If I wanted a cup of ice cream I would have ordered it. Plus it never shows up until half way through the meal.
