  1. I get that its their forum and their rules, I did have 30 some posts, but still a noob there I know. At some point, heavy handed deletions will run people off.

Absolutely. I have seen the cleveland.com forums for the Plain Dealer get totally destroyed because of massive almost random deletions/moderation. And I too vote with my feet when moderators go overboard. The mods here do it right, they use mild public humiliation in a constructive way when people get out of line from what I have seen. Done right as they do it works really well. People learn where the line is without being run off.

  2. And then I answered with this but it got deleted:

(Thats a darn shame, I really like that gun, I wanted to stick with "Made in the USA" though.)

Maybe they have had flame wars in the past over similar comments and wanted to avoid that happening again. Maybe they have a number of people that use the forum that are not from the US and didn't want to insult them. Add in you are a noob there in their eyes and in two posts you bring up a controversial topic.

I agree with your position on US made 100 percent but I can see where they might have felt the need to do it.

As for Free Speech, it is their forum...it is a private forum that allows public access. Free Speech does not apply to them. Casper can set any rules he wants to here for example.

  3. I've been watching this for a looooooong time, since the AF first started talking about a Cyberwarfare command. The only thing holding me back is DC....it sucks.

It isn't just DC. Melbourne FL is very hot for this right now. Raytheon got a huge contract to check all the government software and systems for holes and exploits. And some other stuff he won't talk about. My kid turned down a job with them, it was big big money. Don't know what they are looking for but I know he is very hot right now, he still has his clearance from the Marines and is pretty famous in the white-hat community.

  4. This isn't an issue of the responsible municipality leaving their responsibility.

This is simply the TN based ems saying they won't help in NC anymore.

Very close and your overall point is valid but just to clarify it is a NC county saying they wont go to the NC county next door to respond. The article is a bit unclear......

That part of the dragon is in Swain county NC, but Graham County NC covers Robbinsville and the ambulances rolled from there...they were the closest. I think the better way to do this would be to respond from the same place and just charge the people that need the ride. Lots of places do it now and most medical insurance will pay for it.

  5. the Nolan i jsut got rid of had a anti fog insert.. and that thing actually worked.. i was very skeptical, cause well i have never seen an anti fog anything that actually worked.

i was in sub 40 degree temps in rain and no fog!

+1 for the Nolan with the anti-fog insert. It is an 'extra' lens that is considerably thicker and it attaches to the inside of the regular lens. It works very very well. It comes with the Nolans, or at least did last year.

  6. QFT! I hear the best time is weekdays to avoid many squids and tourists, plus less cops.

    +1

Been there twice this year, both times I hit it on a Friday morning. Never saw any cops on the dragon itself, saw one local on the way up to it. Very few bikes.

Coming back through late in the day though it was getting a little busy.

  7. Plugs or fuel issue. Pull the plugs, what color are they? If they are black/fouled replace them then run it down the road like you stole it and check them again. If they are black again put some seafoam in the tank and run it down the road for a whole tankful like you stole it.

  8. So you don't look like you are coming from too far away.....got it. If you are not too far away I would not worry about it. In metro Cleveland there are three area codes, going from one to the other is no big deal. Now if I was applying for a job in Toledo and I really thought I had a shot at it and wanted to move I would consider getting a local cell phone...some cheap prepaid throw away one.
