  1. Well a few laps later and you were... Work on those starts and you wouldn't have to follow me for the first few laps.
  2. Hi and welcome from another NEO'r. I'm on the other side of town though. I think you'll find most of the rides are in the southern part of the state because that's where the good roads are. You'll find the occasional ride through the valley in the spring or fall when it's still too cold out to head south. And sometimes we make it to a few bike nights during the summer, but personally I'd rather be riding my bike than parking it at QS&L and watching a bunch of idiots get drunk and hop on their bikes.
  3. Unless you are lazy like me and then you wind up with 2 empty tanks, and then you have to bring your dinner inside and finish cooking it on the stove....
  4. They will have a link to MyLaps results on the MotoSeries site eventually. I know they were having some computer issues at the track and it looks like the MotoSeries site is under a little construction at the moment. Guessing they just haven't had time to get it done, but it will be there.
  5. He lives in the "wealthy Lake Washington enclave of Medina" and just bought a brand new $20K motorcycle. He probably doesn't care about the $1103 dollars for the ticket and will probably lawyer up and not lose his license.
  6. I'll be stopping at Harbor Freight on my way home to pick some up!
  7. It doesn't matter what place you're in, it's always more fun when you have someone you're battling with. Kinda why I've been encouraging the newer guys to just sign up for the 600 sprints. By far the largest grid and best chances you'll find someone at your speed to battle.
  8. I noticed chunks of the patching coming out of the carousel being kicked up by the bike right in front of me and coming at me like shrapnel. That was during the second session so probably the stuff you saw laying there.
  9. Someone should tell them it's a good idea to patch the potholes before they get deep enough to put cones in them. Seriously, I'm usually the one who defends Nelson and says "It's not that bad just ride over the bumps. The faster you go the better it is." and things along that line. But sinkholes in the track so bad that cones had to be put out is pretty sketchy to say the least.
  10. Nice work, is that a new best for you? Didn't get a chance to see you out riding after we talked to see how much that horrible body position of yours had improved, but from the sounds of it you're doing better.
  11. ^This. Saturday didn't go real well for me. 4-5 laps into my first practice session out the front tire let loose in turn 4 and I low sided it. Pretty new bike = not so pretty anymore. I was fortunate that other than a rearset all the damage was cosmetic, I got off easy. I'm still a bit baffled as to exactly why it happened, but best guess is some combination of cold track, bad tires, on the brakes late (although not at the time I went down) and possibly some patchwork that was still a bit slippery. Sorry for crashing right in front of you Taft, hate to be that guy that goes by and then wipes out immediately after.... So that pretty much set the pace for me riding like a pussy who just wrecked his bike and was scared of turn 4 the rest of the weekend. I got back into things a little bit once it was race time and I put my game face on. Went from running 18's-19's in practice to 14's during the races. Still almost 2 seconds off from my pace the end of last year. Oh, and Hollywood I won't even make any sandbagger comments. Everyone has done a good enough job so far.
  12. That shit will buff out!
  13. Great news to hear, hoping to see some full grids on Sunday for the races. We just finished the bikes and packing up the trailer a few minutes ago. Time to hopefully get some sleep now. On another note I never had time to get propane for the grill, and I forgot to have Jinu help load it up while he was here. There's no way I'm getting that big bitch in my truck by myself. So hopefully someone reading this in the morning can grab a grill and save the day?
  14. If you add up all the $$$ you were going to spend on all the other nonsense, you'd have almost enough for the suspension. Look for used stuff on ebay or racing classifieds like WERA.
  15. Oh gotcha. I'll take her for a "ride" at lunch. You're gonna want to go have lunch somewhere while this happens though, it'll be boring for you to stay and watch.
  16. If you have a seat and passenger pegs you can take her out at lunch if they do the "parade laps" she just has to have a helmet and preferably jacket/gloves/jeans at minimum. It's a slow pace but at least she could get out there and see the track. I've taken my gf around on the scooter at lunch.
  17. You set the sag to 1-1.5 what? Inches? I'm not a suspension guru but I think that is probably close, usually I've heard of setting it to 35-40 mm which is about 1-1.5 inches. The spring for the rear shock on the 675 is pretty stiff. You are correct, a new spring would probably help you out. Have you dropped the front forks flush with the triple clamp? If not, bring your bike over Saturday and we can take a look at it. It greatly improves mid-corner stability with a slight sacrifice on turn in. The 675 has pretty quick turn in to begin with though, and I would highly suggest doing it.
  18. Ya my starter died and the only place in town that would stock such a part didn't have it. Just going to pay someone to mow it for a week or 2 so I can order one online and get it fixed.
  19. Yes I can bring it, thanks for reminding me. It just ran out of propane last week so I have to go swap tanks. I'll add it to the growing list of shit that still needs done tonight. My grass looks like a freaking jungle, I've been out of town all week and my mower is broke to top it off. So I'm "that guy" bringing down home values in the neighborhood. But I got more important stuff to do tonight to be ready!
  20. I feel ya. Still have some shit to wrap up on my bike and Jinu's bike, get everything loaded and ready to go tonight. I don't have to unfold my trailer, but a bigger trailer usually just means more shit to get packed up. And for some reason Blue03doesntridehis636 wants me to bring his generator back to him. Not sure why cause he's not warming his tires? But we will all scurry around and get it done I'm sure! See you all Saturday!
  21. I doubt I'll be there tonight. Got a lot done last night, fairings all mounted and most of the safety wiring done but got a few more bolts to do. Ran out of drill bits, lol. Still have to do an oil change and coolant flush on jbot's bike, and get the rest of his fairings mounted.
  22. Yup if not I have an adjustable one that does just about all shocks.
  23. Not sure when I'll be showing up. I originally planned to stop out Friday night but I don't know if I'll be ready. Still have to safety wire the bike and put on the fairings and a few small finishing details. Sometimes all this traveling sucks when there's work to be done at home. I've been in Wyoming since Sunday and just heading back today. Either way I'll be there Sat morning at the latest with your friendly local neighbourhood jbot. Neither one of us really care to get up before noon on a Saturday so I expect us to be rolling in at the last minute. If you Fri night people could save us a spot your kindness will be repaid many much times. (I just read that on a fortune cookie)
  24. Don't wanna hear any of your dramma. If your truck isn't ready sounds like others are willing and able to get you there. You got a short season already, don't make it any shorter!
