  5. Might as well schedule it now. By the time it comes around you'll probably have had plenty of time to practice.
  6. Also, if the R/R tends to go on your bike, I wouldn't just replace it with the same crapola that is going to fail again. There's plenty of mosfet style r/r's that you could get to work with your bike. I'd research that on a Honda/CBR forum and I bet you'll find something.
  7. My personal tastes say you made a good choice going with black. I think the black bike in the OP looks good but the red one...eh. Not a fan of the flashy colors. In the end, it's what makes you happy though.
  8. Should be able to get it done with allen wrenches and maybe a few sockets. Make sure you have a new stator cover gasket, it might tear when you pull off the stator cover. Not 100% sure on a CBR 900 but you can usually pull the stator cover without draining the oil. A small amout may dribble out, just top it off. Most importantly, be sure to use locktite on the bolts that hold the stator in place if you replace it. You don't want them coming loose later. R/R is pretty much plug and play. Check the wires on the bike harness side of the connector and make sure they aren't fried.
  9. You are correct, you can remove the brake switch. All it does is trigger the brake lights.

  11. A lot of us have thought about it. But a lot of us run the mini 20 and it sorta interferes with that. The new rules allowing each rider to ride their own bike are sort of neat though. A lot less to figure out for a team about what happens if someone wrecks when everyone is on their own bike.
  12. Don't be scared! Cut those crappy butt connectors off and solder it, but don't forget to put some shrink wrap on before you do. And run it under the frame like it should be. I hate butt connectors for anything important like this. Solder FTW.
  13. I would definitely recommend him for that. SV's and other twins are sort of his specialty. He had quite a few engines in the shop getting built while we were there.

  16. The track day is some price, and you get some money off between half and none if you race on Sunday. Hope that clears things up.

  19. Took them to Hord Power in Bucyrus, OH which is pretty close to Mid-O. The owner JD is pretty experienced with Triumphs and tuned them with TuneECU (freeware). So no need to buy a Power Commander/TuneBoy/Bazzaz, etc. He charges $100 an hour to tune, and it took him just over an hour but he only charged us for 1. Can't beat that, $100 for a custom tune!

  21. Simple solution, move yourself up! Just cause I'll have white plates instead of yellow isn't going to mean I'm any faster. You'll just have to work a little harder to catch me since I'll be getting a head start.
  22. I've heard this debate over and over again about the T6. I might give it a shot this year based on a lot of the comments I've heard on the Triumph forums from those running it in their 675's. One thing I have heard is that after about 2-2.5K miles a few people were starting to notice the clutch wasn't grabbing quite as strong as it used to. I'll be putting it in the race bike and changing it out probably after every race weekend, 2 at the most. It's only going to have about 100-150 miles on it then so hopefully it's far from breaking down at that point.
