  1. Ya whadda you know Craig? You only ride the track. And track riding doesn't apply to the street.
  2. $65 to repair, +$15 if they have to weld it. But didn't he say he bought one already?
  3. Awesome, $65 is worth it to me considering 675 front rims are going for $250-350.
  4. The only reason I say to use metric feeler gauges is a lot of people mess up on their maith converting from thousandths to mm. Sounds like you are doing it right so far.
  5. Not sure what this thing is? But it welds exhausts.
  6. Ya if it's not a TIG welder you'll probably be burning through left and right. I tried with a MIG on the first one I ever did and it didn't turn out real pretty. All kidding aside, I'm not as bad as I say I am. Nothing I've made has cracked or fallen apart...yet. Don't be expecting picture perfect welds, I'm not that steady yet but I'll do a good job and have all the right wire and shit to do it. But if you want to try it yourself, I won't be offended.
  7. Haha ya, just get me you're exhaust and what you have. If I can't make it work I'll order more and charge you double. Oh ya, no warranty implied, if it cracks, breaks, or falls off the bike don't come crying to me. I don't know what I'm doing, I just keep laying beads down until shit stays together.
  8. Can you point me in the right direction of one of these companies? I have a spare rim that has a slight lip bend, still holds air. Looking to see if I can get it fixed and keep it for a set of rims to mount rain tires on.
  9. I might have been stretching the truth a little when I said I had 8"....but I haven't actually measured it either. My gf said it was fine so that was good enough for me.
  10. All I can give you is about 8" of 1.75" straight pipe. Seriously, that's what I have, 8". If you need 9 then I can't help you....get your pipe somewhere else. And seriously John, we are just talking exhaust stuff here. Don't get all excited.
  11. At 5'7" and a whole inch taller, I can't believe you would need to lower the R6. My 675 has a much higher seat height and its not an issue. You can get shorter/narrower seats and get some proper riding boots with a nice thick sole and you should be good. If you must lower it, realize you are messing with the suspension geometry. Read up on it, and make sure you're lowering the front by raising the forks through the triple clamps so that the front is lowered equally. People say don't lower it, yet some of the short AMA riders do it and I bet their bikes handle just fine. But they've done a lot to keep rake/trail at proper angles and ratios.
  12. What pipe do you need? One of the merge pieces or just a straight section of pipe? I have some left over 2" and 1.75" pipe if either of those are what you need?
  13. I think I can manage that, if you don't have a chance to come up before then, bring it to the first round. I think there's almost a month between round 1 and 2, that should be plenty of time for me to get it done.
  14. Usually the only place people seem to make mistakes is in their math. Did you do yourself a favor and get metric feeler gauges? Post up your measured values and what the spec is and at least we could look at it and say "Sounds about right to me." Also, do you have shims already? I bought a Hot Cams shim kit awhile back for a Suzuki ATV, chances are they're the same diameter.
  15. Thank you sir, I resemble that remark!
  16. So not much to update, I'm working on this exhaust for jbot. Once I finish it we are going to take the bikes to Hord Power for custom tunes. Lucky for us, he tunes with TuneECU which is a free software you can tune with and it flashes the ECU. No Power Commander/TuneBoy/Bazzaz needed. Cut off the stock merge collector, exup valve, and cat. Gonna weld in a custom 3-1 merge collector and straight pipe to make a "race" header. Interested to see the results of his bike with my custom exhaust vs. mine with a full Arrow. I've made a few of these exhausts for the 675, and the last guy I made one for gained about 7-8 hp and 3-4 ft/lbs with the exhaust and a tune. Welding on the bullet vanes inside the merge collector. Merge collector welded on, alongside all the junk that was cut out. Just need to fit it on the bike and weld in the straight section and it's done.
  17. Gingers unite, we will take all these non-ginger assholes down this year!
  18. It was too bad I didn't have a GoPro on the bike or I would've caught this on camera, lol.
  19. Or the "Oh, you mean I should take more than 1/2 lap to warm up these tires on a 40 degree morning" tuck into T12 at Nelson?
  20. I had to be patient, but finally the victim walked away from his computer leaving it unlocked. He is pretty clueless when it comes to computers too, so after 15 minutes of him sitting there cursing at the computer wondering why it chose now to do an update, I finally had to tell him, lol.
  21. You do know that you just bought a bigger money pit than the bike, right? And now you'll be gone fishing and boating on the weekends instead of riding. I guess you can take the wifey along on the boat.
  22. I can add something to the first post about bringing food. Just to be clear, you are talking about a Saturday evening meal not lunch right? I can bring my grill. It's a 4 burner gas grill, so grill above may want to bring their own charcoal grill.
  23. 15 hours to Florida...I know it happened two or three times and I'm still not sure what a ZJ is? This must be some sort of record, well into page 2 of a trackday thread before it started going completely off topic.
  24. The epic ride sounds like it's going to be an epic cluster fuuuuuu. You know you want to try the track!
