  1. I was working on the concept of a home-made panoramic camera using a fisheye lens and dewarping software, but this was pre-HD and it proved to be too low quality and too badly distorted once dewarped. I've seen this concept before - demo video was on a taxi driving through a downtown area. I'd love one of there but you'd have to mount it about 2-3' above the roofline of the car to have it work as a dashcam.
  2. That dog will hire Jose Baez and be found not guilty.
  3. We need to get a white jacket or helmet and have as many members as possible sign it at the next event where OR has a booth (like at RedWhiteBoom). Then raffle the item - first number drawn gets the signed item, second number gets to nominate a charity to recieve the raffle proceeds.
  4. Just paint this on your bike: #include `wget http://www.ohioriders.net/memberlist.php`
  5. I know tht if you hit a 3rd car then you're still at fault. I thinking about if the car waving you out hits you, like it was a staged accident for insurance fraud...
  6. Depends on cam. Some are fisheye and can see the car waving you out. Mine can see a the first couple cars in all directions of a 4-way stop. I never wave someone out unless I am the only lane the need to yield to.
  7. This thread was intended to be about whether someone can give up right-of-way and if it is legally binding. Do a search for 'dascham' on ebay. More video than you could watch in a year. More and more prevalent as they become cheaper. There's talk about them being built into new cars.
  8. Was the first post in Fallen Riders? Too many fallen rider posts out on the other forums causing reposts. Thanks for merging the threads.
  9. Yup, time to slow down on my dawn commute. Deer suck.
  10. Witness or dashcam. HD dashcams run about $80 on ebay these days.
  11. Bean-Oller Road does not intersect with 23. Did they mean 315? Or 257 (Riverside Drive)? http://g.co/maps/6hpwz
  12. I see no difference. There are many different ways of saying the same thing. "Motorcyclist dies in accident". "Rider loses life in accident". "Rider suffers fatal injuries in accident". It's all the same thing. Educate me...
  13. If a driver signals that he is yeilding to you (waving you out of a sidestreet) then is that legally binding on him? (if you can prove he waved you out). I know that you still must yield to other road users whi have ROW, but what if it the guy who waved you out that hit you? (changed his mind, staged accident etc) If you can prove he waved you out then dow that LEGALLY give you ROW over him? Or does he retain ROW even if you can prove he waved you out?

  15. He was killed. His life was ended. The accident killed him. What am I missing here? Are you making some point that it was his own actions that caused his death? Irrelevant - he was still killed in the accident.
  16. Meh, they'll just have the funeral online via podcast.
  17. This pic is from the UK. Hope they got out ok
  18. If the bike is the collateral then send them the title. Or watch them default the loan, add fees, demand immediate payment and sieze the vehicle anyway (It's on the laon doc, right? It's theirs. When I bought my car the title didn't go to the lender first - it went to me first. Does that mean I get to tell them to F off? No. The loan is secured on the vehicle.
  19. No, but they do have council housing ("The Projects") which is government-provided housing for people who can't afford to buy their own. That would be my guess.
  20. And... Magistrates is a type of court that is analagous to a municipal court only there is no jury or judge. Instead of a judge there is a panel of 3 "Magistrates" who are normal citizens of good standing in the community (like notary publics) who are given training on the law and magistrates processes. The 3 magistrates sit and hear cases. They can convict and jail peope for up to 6months for a single offense or 1yr/18mo (don't recall which) for a combination of offenses heard at the same time. They only hear Misdemeanors (called Summary Offenses). Felonies (called Indictable Offenses) are heard by magistrates only for the purposes of determining if there is a case to answer, after which the case is transferred to the Crown Court (like the common Pleas Court) so in that capacity they act as a Grand Jury. Crown Court is the poncy gits with the wigs and sh*t. The UK and US court systems share their history so are organized very similarly except for the names.
  21. I was thinking; "What 3rd word country did this happen in... Calderdale? That's England... Sh*t. With all the CCTV they have over there you'd think it'd have been filmed by someone. Good luck getting a nursery job (they mean the daycare kind, not the plants and flowers kind) with a violent assault conviction. BTW "Conditional Discharge" means "You've been found guilty, but we're not going to punish you (beyond court costs and compensation)". Interesting concept. Do bad stuff, get arrested, convicted, and then....don't get punished. WTF?
  22. Seriously. All I see is a drop-dead-gorgeous covered bridge.
  23. It's not the Harley I want to ride...
  24. That site tried to send me malware through a banner ad.
