  1. Who cares? I buy groceries because I need and/or want them, not as part of some moral voting system.
  2. What was the ticket for? Expired meter? Handicap space? Hydrant?
  3. I got growled at regularly by a dog that lives a couple doors down from me whenever I went jogging down the street. I took to carrying OC in case it did more than growl. One day as I was jogging home it ran across the street and charged at me, barking/growling/snapping but didn't get closer than 5 feet. I had my OC out ready to go and was retreating as it approached further. As this was going on the dog warden was driving down the street and watched this all unfold. He pulled over, got the dog and went to speak with the owner. They were allowed to keep the dog, but I've never seen it out again since.
  4. There's enough illegal parking going on that they'd get many more tickets from walking around than waiting for one person to mess up.
  5. They don't have meter maids in Dayton? Or do you think the meter maids should be doing police work?
  6. I give up. You're not listening.
  7. Why would you think a pistol cannot be operated by someone with an arm or leg tied up? They train for that. And offhand.
  8. You can get stream or fogger. Even the stream splashes and lets off vapors.
  9. I dunno. We'd need some kind of proof.
  10. How could anyone confuse a gun and a red pop can?
  11. I share your opinion that human life is worth more than animal life. I won't swerve for any animal. I'll brake, but won't risking losing control and causing a larger accident.
  12. He is not required to give the dog a sporting chance.
  13. It's not. It's called real life versus the TV shows. I'm starting to understand why you seem to think the way you do - you seems to lack any kind of understanding of real life policing and use of force scenarios. Once the OC leaves the can it's not fussy about who gets it. Don't think of a cop accidentally shooting directly into his eyes - think of the cloud created by the spray. You spray air freshener you smell it, right? You spray OC, does the same thing. clouds/vapor. The general rule is that when the OC comes out while grappling, EVERYONE is at risk.
  14. They are trained to shoot rapidly until the threat is stopped. 12 rounds can go in 2-3 seconds. You can't stop to re-assess if you have "shot them enough" to result in "imminent incapacitation". The only way to be sure is to shoot until actual incapacitation.
  15. Agreed. If no GSR is found, I forsee HUGE problems for the police.
  16. Maybe they can - and they knew it was gunshots. The suggestion is that the officers who opened fire were told via radio that there was a gun. They were told a gun was seen not just heard. We don't judge people by hindsight. We judge people by how a "reasonable person" would have the reacted under the same circumstances and having the same information. The same concept behind charging and armed robber even if he used an unloaded gun. If each individual officer reasonably believed that the occupants of the car were armed then they are forgiven for acting as if they WERE armed even if it turns out they were NOT.
  17. Taser is a one-shot deal. Miss = attacked. Kick is also a one-shot deal. Miss = attacked. Also, first rule of self defense is keep your footing, so don't kick unless you know what you're doing. Mace (OC spray) could work but would just as likely result in the cop getting OC in his eyes. Was the officer carrying OC? Was his OC hand already occupied? Baton: Again, a one-shot deal - the dog is not scared of the baton and it won't keep him at bay. Miss = attacked.
  18. Who are "they" and what are they "inspecting"? What village is this? Is this a *law* that grants agents of the village government access to rented units? Or does it grant rights for a landlord to access his rental unit?
  19. Not finding a gun is not unusual - the gun can be easily ditched and it may have been a revolver or a semi-auto held out of the window. The GSR tests will be VERY interesting.
  20. What if the police believe, in good faith, that they were fired upon?
