  1. If they charge for data that does not go over the internet then that's some stupid BS right there. That's like being charged voice minutes for using the camera on your phone. I'd rig up a DD_WRT router inside the home and keep all your stuff behind it, only let Verizon see your internet traffic. Betcha that usage would drop to almost nothing. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic275631.html I watch a TON of videos, sometimes an hour or so an night, and I don't exceed 20Gb/mo. I'm on Frontier DSL right now. I was on Nexgenaccess fixed wireless and they were pretty good but DSL is faster. Bright.Net might still be around. There's a ton of people complaining about sudden rises in data Verizon MiFi data usage, sound just like yours. https://community.verizonwireless.com/message/913470
  2. Now iPhone users will no longer need to be rescued from the Australian outback. Woohoo! http://www.theatlanticwire.com/technology/2012/12/apple-maps-are-leaving-people-stranded-outback/59795/
  3. Interesting concept - but I'd hate to be hit by an F350 in one.
  4. Do you have any URLs or more detail that I can find online?
  5. Not a very good signal-to-noise ratio, in terms of conversation that the Govt would care about.
  6. That decision is far easier for the guys in this site.
  7. It's the real ones that are the funniest... http://www.bonertspies.com/contactus.aspx
  8. There's a reason CAPCHA works so well. Heck, current voice recognition can't even reliably understand a single person, never mind multiple simultaneous conversations. Add to that accents, languages, slang, body language and other nonverbal communication... Nope, not worried.
  9. Wiretap laws aside, the article is jumping to a conclusion that is not supported by the technology. In order to record all the passenger conversations you'd need one VERY discriminating microphone in front of the mouths of every conversation participant. Show me a bus with 50 hidden microphones, and then I'll worry.
  10. One microphone is not going to hear all passenger's conversations. Think of it this way, sitting in a bus, can you hear and understand every conversation? no. Only the loudest sounds. The microphones are used to provide audio of things like tire screeches, horns and other crash-related audio that helps in determining fault etc. also, the microphone will be installed near the driver to catch any interaction he has with criminals/robbers/unruly passengers etc. They've had microphones on bus camera systems for ever... How many of those conversations can you make out?
  11. How is a law student an officer of the court?
  12. I bank with Huntington and never had a moment's trouble. Had a Chase account for 3mo and they tore me to pieces on fees - and I worked there at the time. Closed it as quick as I could. When I begged for mercy being an employee the manager said (IIRC); "Then you should know how we do business and none of this should be a surprise to you."
  13. Chase did the same thing. http://www.topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/lawsuit-news/2583-chase-overdraft-fee-class-action-settlement-
  14. I'd film it, but I'd be worried about this happening... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Qj4uv3GZ1s
  15. So Illinois has no statewide CCW law. An outright ban. Fed appeals court says that's unconstitutional: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/11/illinois-concealed-carry-_n_2278114.html If it gets appealed to the Supreme Court, then guess what? That decision is nationwide. California, New York City, everywhere...
  16. What if a bite is what was coming to him?
  17. I do, but it doesn't stop the rifle from rotating side to side. With the barrel up most of the weight is lower. With the barrel down the weight would be higher. There's other advantages to being barrel down - notable you aren't pointing the barrel at your head when you remove it from the safe - plus you can reach in and grab it by the pistol grip. It can be stored with the bolt open so all you have to do is pullit out by the pistol grip and hit the bolt release, then it's ready to go. I'll check that out tonight.
  18. So, cop gives someone a warning on speed and a seatbelt ticket... that's like being charged $1 for a burrito at Chipotle. Why would they complain?
