  1. Your kinda experiencing why I never really took to 600s. No grunt or midrange and you gotta revvvvv to get 'em moving. Great for the track, but more tempormental on the street. Sorta lead to my gravitating to VFRs. That R-6 is a peaky bitch and your gonna have to learn to rev the thing to get it off the line, and work that shift lever.
  2. My first thoughts --- valve clearances good? Intermitant clicking on top? Cam chain and tensioner for first check. (from a guy who hates cam chains)
  3. Been living with ATT DSL 6meg and gawd forbid if you need service. So RR is da bomb?
  4. That's a personal taste thing, sortta like I would like a sumo for a 3rd bike. For me though, my mainstream bikes for quite a while now have been 1 sporty type bike, and 1 cruiser. Adrenaline for one mood, laid back and lazy for the another mello mood. It covers a lot of the riding spectrum. Cant go wrong with 2 Hondas.......
  5. Bump -- $75 commission to anybody who finds a buyer for this.
  6. Since Michelin Pilot Powers are one generation behind, they are going for a most reasonable price. Great street tire performance and only 90 bucks for a front. Rears are going very reasonable price too. http://www.jakewilson.com/productDetail.do?navTitle=Motorcycle+Tires&webCatId=57&navType=type&webTypeId=444&prodFamilyId=20813&listingId=&sizeAttr=5325 https://www.denniskirk.com/_.p543401.prd Best tire prices are usually between Jake Wilson and Dennis Kirk (Quite unintentionally, I am running a Roadsmart in the rear and a Pilot Power in the front. Jeez when I needed a front the PP was on sale for $76 at the time. Hard to pass up. )
  7. When I first got it I worked at it, and had been playing on a junker student Selmer before. Probly spent 2 years "siting in" with local blues bands in the bars and drank late into the night. Then the next day, go to work in the morning, sometimes still buzzed. Got to a point where I just had to park it. The bit wasnt exactly conducive to a healthy life style. Havent played on any kind of regular basis since. Mostly just jumped in more all out into my motorcycling.

  10. No problem, just pointing it out. Sometimes if I have a choice between the China product or elsewhere, I'll pick the elsewhere. Although its damn hard nowadays to try to buy non - china products.

  15. I have a '99 Valkyrie. I like bikes that are kinda unusual and funky weird and the Valky fits the bill. Six cylinder, six carbs, mondo torque. More torque at 1800 rpm than the viffer at peak. Whack the throttle and it moves --NOW. Mean sounding engine.... Good handling and brakes. A couch for a seat and ez ergos.. - Yeah, I like it.
  16. Your in the dillema I discovered years back - I like both sport riding and cruiser riding. Having two style of riding available is a great way to go. I go thru cycles of doing 75% cruise/25% sport and then maybe a while where I'm 80% sport and only 20% cruiser. I went bonkers a while back when I spent the better part of a year with my VFR down for mods. I have found if I have only one or the other - I miss the one I dont have. Try keeping your TL a while and see how it goes. Of course with a new bike you wil want to play with that for the most part at first, but maybe the urge for some sporting work will tug at you and if you dont have that handy you'll regret it.
  17. ^^^^ I think if a buddy from out of state said he's flying in and renting a VFR and take him out on the best motorcycle loop in Ohio, this would be it.
  18. I like your idea - we could make it 50 must do Ohio motorcycle loops and have a map for each loop.....

There's plenty of great motorcycle roads in this thread that are way more entertaining.
  20. Most of those are Interstate or bypass - wouldnt put them on a best list...
