  1. Wild SWAG -- your R/R is fried, (hint from the brighter headlight when reved) and it lets the stator charge the liven shit outta you battery, and now your battery is fried too. Guesstimate solution, you need to buy a new R/R and plan on a battery too. On the R/R, I would make sure it is a MOSFET style design or if you are decent with wiring, grab a compufire series design. (fix it soon, otherwise it will fry other stuff too. ) Here's good chart for figuring it out if you can use a voltmeter. http://www.electrosport.com/media/pdf/fault-finding-diagram.pdf Btw -avoid electrosport parts, not all that reliable.
  2. Original Bike Polish - Best all around bike cleaner on the planet. http://www.originalbikespirits.com/products.aspx?pid=667 Aluminum brite work - Meguiars Mag & Aluminum Polish
  3. In no paticular order.... always bottle beer Warsteiner Corona (mostly for summertime drinking) Peroni Becks Dark (especially in winter) Becks regular Dos Equis Amber
  4. Bill Batchelder (present speaker of the House of Rep)
  5. Lowes has a pretty good supply of metric hardware too. Grade 8.8 and 12.8 - Its usually the first place I check before mother honda.
  6. Competition Assessories in Springfield off I-70 (Rt 72) is another good place to look too (although its not Iron Pony) but its only 35 mins from West Carrollton. Good for a few hour juant. +1 again on the get as much time on the GS500 as you can before you go to the 636. Riding is a skill and it takes time to learn. - If you can bum time on a dirtbike, that is highly recommended.
  7. The mess of it is - even with the talk of 4 trillion by BO or 6 trillion cuts by the Republicans over 10 years, that is still an annual trillion dollar deficit spending. So, the 14.2 trillion debt keeps going up. The current federal revenue is roughly at 2.2 trillion. And the interest on the debt annually at the moment is 413 billion - at about 18 percent of revenue. Money pissed into the wind. You can figure that revenue will go up at a 2-3% but the debt and interest are going up at a faster rate than that. So there is a convergence of revenue and interest. The interest will creep up as a percentage of revenue. 20%, 25% etc. Now, I'm not smart enough to say, but somewhere in there - (30%? 40%?) the world banks, countrys, i.e. China will decide that the Americans are full of it and can only default and will not buy Treasurys or lend the US any more money. That will very ugly. It will make the last recession look like a party. That's the current slow train we are on. It may be 12 or 18 years out, but we are moving that way. So, Democrat or Republican, its time you kick your senator or representative in the backside and tell them to get real on spending reductions.
  8. Whoops - didnt catch the 18 inch ---------- oh, Vrod cruiser tire. http://www.denniskirk.com/jsp/search/search.jsp?store=&resultType=subCategories&searchString=tires+180%2F55ZR18+rear&searchbtn.x=41&searchbtn.y=7 Putting my cruiser hat on, I would grab the Avon Cobra.
  9. D207s are 4 generations ago of tech for Dunlop, I would only use them if someone gave them to me crazy cheap. --Q2s are current tech. Michelin pilot powers are a pretty good tire, (although not current generation) and prices are very reasonable about anywhere. Spring is the best time to buy tires as most retailers want to move stock and offer good discounts. I mostly use DennisKirk,(instant shipping) but have heard good things about JakeWilson.
  10. $450? Yeow, I'll pass.....
  11. Forgot about that vid - its still hilarious---
  12. http://roadstercycle.com/ Another option - from VFRD
  13. Many Honda charging systems are poorly designed. So if you do need a new R/R, make sure its a MOSFET style vs the OEM which is junk.(Some guys will use the R1 R/R) Sometimes if the R/R is toast, it will fry the battery along with it. Also check the stator to R/R connectors, these have a habit of burning. Lots of guys will wire direct or find sturdier connectors. Good Luck
  14. The number that gets me is the annual interest. $413 billion. Money pissed into the wind. And growing. When is it too much as a percent of revenue? 25%? 40%? Where we are headed is unsustainable. And we have the congress pissing and moaning over $61 billion cuts. Um, I'm sorry but they are ignoring the real problem.
  15. Two Wheel Tuesdays at KilKare is pretty cool - athough I havent run since they started enforcing the kill switch rule. Not hard to do, just a pia.
  16. Love college basketball - wont mention my team since they have done a crash and burn this season. But the NCAA tournament is the best sports event going. I watch as many games as I can. (I like college bball, pro-football, that it.)
  17. "One sip and you'll know." ---------------------------->>> That it tastes like shit. lol
  18. Nah, I bought it before that ---actually I think I was the first VFRD member to jump out and buy one. I paid full price. It seemed that this generated some buzz on the thing and before I know it a group buy is going on. I would have jumped on the sale price. I still like it and will buy another when its time.
  19. I'm running a MOTY Lithium Iron battery in my VFR800. Small,light(1.7 lbs) and good power. No battery tender required. http://www.motydesign.com/ I ordered on a Monday and Wednesday it was in my mailbox...
  20. Holding some oil based stocks in as part of a portfolio is a good idea. Although for the moment it might be a bit of a gamble with the Libya situation going on. Oil stocks have jumped so, if you get in now, prepare to dump them if Libya goes postal and price peaks, and then if it calms down, you would take a loss if you had jumped in today. Roll the dice. Fortunately I've been in some oil related stocks for years. Its somewhat like gold stocks. --- The world blows up, oil goes up.
  21. Scottrade is a reasonable way to go, plus usually there is an office locally you can go to get something done. btw - with cheap stocks, there's a reason that their cheap! think about it. Sen10's list no thanks
  22. I have a State Farm insurance bike chart - bikes are rated from A to F for rate factor. A is best, F is worst, C is average -- From memory --- SH is an A, any CBR is an F, GSXRs are F. Go for the Hawk! A way cool ride.......
