As I posted in the for sale section I am interested in picking up a GPS unit. At first I was thinking handheld but now I dont know. My first reasoning for wanting one was so that I could throw in my ski, 4wheeler, and anything else to get an accurate top speed reading. Then I started to think well these are made for outdoors people and I am an outdoors person so I might get more use out of it depending on what features are available. Since then I have also realized that I might be able to get a lot of use out of one in a car. I am not directionally challenged by any means but if I had one, then it might be easier to find something or drive long trips for vacation kind of thing. For you guys who have these what do you recommend? Do I look at handheld units or something more designed for a car that I can also throw in my ski for a 10 min run? Handhelds still do a little turn by turn in the city if I am reading right but I am sure it is limited. I would just like to pick up a cheap unit that does these basic functions and it has to be waterproof.

The past few years all you hear about is LSX's, while they are great I really miss working on the good old LT1s.

Bought mine from Farrows downtown. Overall I like them but I didnt like my experience. I was 19 and I got treated like a 19 year old instead of a customer. The salesman was retarded for thinking I didnt know what I was doing. Congrats on the buy. Post them pics. I enjoyed my sporty but I def grew out of it fast. Start preparing now to upgrade:D

I was not really a fan of them at all until I rode one. They are much more comfortable but still sporty at the same time. You sit much more straighter, infact when I got back on my bike afterwards it felt overly heavy on my hands. I wouldnt buy one for myself but I did enjoy riding it and understand why others purchase them.

I kinda like the paint. Its different. The box though is a little much for me but i guess function is way more important.

I am looking into picking up a simple handheld GPS. I dont know too much about these things but I want one for accurate speeds on the jet ski's and maybe some other uses when I can figure out what all it will do. It must be waterproof. Let me know if anyone has anything.

Lol too true. I especially like the engine hoist.

I would love to hear someone get on the pedal in one of those.

Otis guys are here with us now and they said that their planes are gone and their flightline isnt even operational for them anymore. And you think 130s are fun to watch. Imagine the same thing with C5s. Lol, even taking off you cant help but think "this thing seriously cant be going fast enough to take flight". They do it all day long at Lackland. Some airshows still do them, and if you know where to go jets will still do them in training in remote areas. Our 16's will be in Mich this summer for two weeks and I am told the do them often up there once they get away from things. Wright pat isnt supposed to allow it anymore do to the complaints from so many people being such a high populated area. Thats my base and I can assure you they are not ours. We don't have 15's. Only 16s. Our base is soley for training f16 pilots. Any 15's you see there are usually from WPAFB. The ones flying over downtown are prob from WP. Toledo has a couple "ready" planes but they prob wouldnt be using them for shows, and St. Lous planes are the same way. Those are all the closest f15 bases. If you enjoyed watching them do touch and goes, you can go up there most days of the weeks and sit off route 68 and watch them do it for hours. Jets are cool as fuck but damn after seeing/hearing them day after day, you start to hate them. It seems like they only wanna fly when you are trying to take care of/talk about important things. They still do. It is just becoming a lost art due to heavy population and bitchy old people in big areas. I think it was in the Air Force times where they talked about it.

I finally got a chance to talk to Foulk here recently and he told me he got rid of the VFR. He said he loved it and I even enjoyed riding it. Sounds like you are making a good choice, but I am sure Matt wont like it since he would finally have someone to ride long distance with now.

As I am reading through these pages the only thing I keep thinking is, "Your cool..... your cool.... your a little bitch.... your cool... and so forth. JK, I dont drink that often (3-5 times a month) as time in my life doesnt allow it, but when I do I can honestly say I have a problem. Alcholism runs in my family too and I have respect for anyone who is man enough to stay away from it all rather than chance getting sucked into possible problems.

lol, I know someone that you know that fits this discription. Not a whore, but she will sure as hell get naked as soon as she has a few.
-
Man I am really sorry about the news. I hope for the best for you mother and the rest of your family. It really shows me how small and meaningless the problems in my life are. I dread constantly for the time I will hear something like this about my closest loved ones. Try to be strong and possitive through this whole process, I am sure it would def help her to see it.

I wish my 3rd gen looked that clean. When I get back home that is one car I would like to see in person. I am very frequent in your area so hopefully I get the chance. I have a soft spot for really clean 3rd gens.

My dad and my Grandfather were always fixing little shit. I guess I grew up just trying to rig together things that were broke. When I was 15 i really started getting into muscle cars and I think I read every single top car magazine and auto trader from 2000 up until a year or so ago. I finally realized I had a problem and spent way way too much money on magazines. I still have them all and some from the 80s and 90s I have picked up. Kinda a collector(pack rat) I guess. From mostly reading it gave me the knowledge about how cars worked and I started my biggest hands on projects with dirtbikes and worked my way to my car at 15. I had a bit of hands on time with Eriks (1Runnin72SST) 72 Javelin and remember spending hours in the cold trying to get the thing together and looking nice just so his dad would take us for a ride in it until he got his license. I bought my Camaro and a few other cars as the years went by. But mostly spent my time working on friends cars. Two LT1s in particular as I started pulling the motor in the formula in what seemed like 3 times a year. Little by little I just tough myself. In 2005 I went to work for the company my father manages and became a tractor trailor/diesel mechanic. After about 4 months I wanted more and I went to Wyotech. I took Collision/Refinishing where I learned to weld and alter some metal all the way to painting and making it look nice. I did custom painting on the side and I then moved on to Chassis Fabrication/High Performance engine building. I became a better welder and learned to tig. By this time I had the engine building down pretty good but learned a bit. I hand built and installed a 8 point roll cage for the formula. After I graduated I went back to the trucking company and have been doing it since.

SEAL or not that guy has more self control than anyone I sure know. I don't know if I would have been able to say the same for myself. I can't even imagine all that hes been through, and the anger, and rage he must have inside him. To not stand there and have a perfect oportunity to pull the trigger and feel some type of relief is a different kind of man in itself. If the rest of this world could be half the man he is, it would be a much better place. My hat is off to him.

Yeah but do you really want to be the one to have to drill a 2 7/8" hole in the back of my ski for the exhaust. I don't even want to be the one to do that. 6 more weeks is all I have (if everything goes right). Mem day weekend is in my sights and sounds like a good time to put her in the water. Glad you finally can feel like you overcame that trans. And it looks like you are making sick progress on the 7. Keep it up. -

Shanton if you ever need anymore practice I have a nice shiny sea doo at home that needs a few go fast parts put on before it touches the water. -
Ryan what kinda gear are you taking in terms of bags? Last year Matt and I talked about doing the same type of thing after he bought his VFR but we couldnt decide on what type of gear we would use.
-
Now thats what I am talking about.
-
To many variables in my opinion. And same engine family? Why couldnt an LSX rx7 be considered badest car? I know we have a couple lower budget rx7 swaps on here that should be able to contend.

Who's got the Fastest FWD vehicle in cbus???
XChris1632X replied to Rustlestiltskin's topic in Passing Lane
Do a search of his name, I am pretty sure he posted a thread with pics when he first came aboard. Idk if it was in the pics section or the oven though. I am too lazy to search. -
I like. Maybe one day I will have a motor that I could put something like that onto.

What are you in school for? What degree do you have and what do you do?
XChris1632X replied to 2pointslow's topic in Dumpster
Graduated Wyotech with numerous certs, about 5 credits away from my As. in applied science criminal justice from CCAF and working on my transfer program from CSCC to OSU. Hopefully I can get into OSU within the next year, and hopefully by then I can figure out what I want to study when I get there. Full time right now I am deployed and am in Security Forces-Air Force, when I am at home I am a diesel mechanic for a local trucking company. -
Couple of new pictures after layer one of painting.

So what is the deal is it supposed to be re primered or a flat black? I am actually confused as to what you did here.
