  1. As the title states, looking for a 2008-2012 Ninja 250 (EX250-J) oem exhaust. Just need the muffler.
  2. PIRC would be better served to spend money on gravel traps and air fence. It's a very nice track, but with all the Armco, it would scare the hell out of me to race their. As spectaculars go, the crowed was rather small if you consider there is only one major viewing area. Consider that amount of people spread out at Mid Ohio and it would look empty. I miss the old days at Mid O when it was shoulder to shoulder pretty much everywhere. There were 10+ places to eat and vendors were spread out over the entire infield.
  3. Easy check to verify if it's clutch, when you feel it "loose power" do the RPMs increase quickly?
  4. My son spent 3000 miles on a moped the last two years and moved over to the motorcycle pretty easy. I have mixed feeling on the training classes. Yes they help the very new or unskilled rider, but they also teach some things I consider bad habits. My biggest complaint is the competence of some of the rider coaches... have seen many who should not be riding let alone teaching. Brooks will travel and do his class with @jacobhawkins
  5. Love me some ZRX! Had a properly sorted 2004 in the faster silver. Still miss the torque of that fine motor. GLWS
  6. For the record Derek purchased, I have been well aware of the filter problems for quite some time. Have never understood saving 6 bucks on something this important.
  7. No, it was done at my place in the early summer. Probably 3000 miles on it. With that being said, what is the purpose of the nut? It should take the torque as required by the manufacturer and why would a company supply and market on the fact that you can just use a 17mm socket to put on and remove.
  8. This failure seems to not follow any model types. Appears to be a bad manufacturing process.
  9. Just don't get the oven cleaner on any paint or anodized parts... it will strip them quickly.
  10. I think it was nut weld, but Derek did not detail. For the record I was not present, only talked to him after the incident and dig up this thread... seems like they have a serious problem on their hands.
  11. Digging this one up... @DerekClouser K&N filter failed at a track day today. Split and coated the track. They are junk, you have been warned.
  12. Do not transfer your OCD... those tires will not make any difference at that pace or style of riding. Tim said it best... leave it alone and let him enjoy riding without worrying about all the stupid shit that ruins riding.
  13. Just be warned... You will spend the rest of your life running down the feeling you get that first year of riding! Enjoy it, be safe, and have fun.
  14. Highest crash and death rate is 40+ and 1200cc+. This is of course the largest group of riders and cruisers are the predominant motorcycle of choice. Lack of helmets and drinking and riding are the 2 key factors why this group is over represented in fatality statistics. Outside of the above, there is a clear lack of statistics for Ohio with respect to a more granular breakdown of demographics, age, and motorcycle type. So If you are over 40, ride a cruiser, and do not have an endorsement... you are more likely to die in a motorcycle accident.
  15. What is up with Hilliard and thieves?
  16. Prayers your way Jerry! have had the opportunity to ride a couple times and IP said it best.
  17. My cousin lived in Huntsville for about 10 years and loved it. Of course it's a couple hours south of where you are looking but not too far. The weather is great most of the year, Nashville, and the motor scene is quite healthy. Visited every year he lived there for Barber weekend and would go up to Nashville for good food and entertainment. Have always felt anywhere south of Nashville and North of Birmingham would be a great place to live. take a road trip and explore... don't use GPS!
  18. I had to take Derek on this ride of shame couple years ago... pink shirt and all!
  19. This is a better route than 56!
  20. This is the right time of year to purchase! Wait until the beginning of September and save the extra 500 and you will have no problem finding a great bike in good shape. Have patience and look every free moment. Kawasaki EX500, SV650, ZX600E, YZF600R, and many other great bikes. I can understand not wanting the 250-300 class. If you have rode in the past and have decent skills a 250 will become boring quickly. The only thing I could say... if you do go the 250-300 route, you can use the fall to learn and make your money back in the spring. Only down side is larger bikes will be up in price. Just use the winter to add an extra 1k to the budget and take your pick. 3k will buy a lot of bike.
