  1. Do you have the link? I just see a black box. Inbeds never show up

  3. When I read about this from Doc 2 years ago, I said I was going to do that. Then he posted last year and I was out of the country. When registration opened in December of 2011, again Doc posted to let people know. I was not letting this go by again, and registered and made it a priority. 2 weeks after coming home for over seas, I'm at the rally start point. Having now done the event, it was exactly what I needed and wanted. I'm an excitement junky and this event actually gave me balance. It's now after the event, and my girl (she flew in and met me in FL) left from FL to travel more on the road. We are doing another 1500 miles of driving, but what I noticed is the calm I have and how much I love setting the cruse control. haha The rally had me feeling alive and loving the challenge. Now I can chill with my girl and enjoy a vacation with her. Just feels pretty awesome and anyone interested in it, I highly recommend you commit to yourself and make this happen. Plan around it and you will love it.
  4. This is a short clip of the figure 8/circle track we played on before we left to search for the check points. Then it cuts to a fun little section of road we were on. It's no deals Gap. But, it was fun and had no traffic. We stopped for all stop signs. We signaled all turns when we were around cars and we never cut anyone off or tailgated. Those are my simple rules. Sticking to them saved our but on day two. more one that later.
  5. Great write up Doc. Aaron thanks for the add ins. Doing this rally was insanely fun. CR people working together and making things happen. Day one, Justin and I ran into Aaron and his super cool wife in their GTI early in the day. They gave us a quick correction and then we hung and ran together all day to find all the points. A few fun things to add: Each car having it's own time made for a mathematical battle. Time VS speed VS distance. We realized we were a bit out in front of most of the teams early in the day. We made some great calls on traffic and routes. It help tremendously having 2 iPhones searching the net, and Garmin running routes, once we found where our check points were. Justin was pretty awesome running all of that. At one point, our route had use going up a mountain, and then sending us back the way we came down the mountain. Along that route there was a small construction crew on the narrow mountain road. We were the first to get to the check point, but leaving, we saw other teams were close to us. On the return through the construction area, I stopped and gave the guy holding the stop/slow sign a cold water and $20, I asked him if he would slow down cars with stickers on them. He laughed and said sure. Later that night it was pretty funny hearing people talk about how slow the sign guy was in the construction area. It didn't keep anyone from CR out of placing that day, so we were all laughing about it. The end of the day had us on 100+ miles of highway to the final check point at a restaurant, easy find, off the highway. We had moved so quickly, the GTI with us, we were worried about finishing TOO early. There was a penalty for that. So we slow roled the highway at 75 in a 70. We were the first 2 cars in. A few minutes later, another car came in. We opted to skip the bonus check point for 12 minutes off our time. We were pretty worried for finishing and finding all the points so quick and easily, coupled with some great luck in traffic and side roads. Turns out the car that came in after us, beat us with the bonus minutes, by 3 minutes. Later we found out they had been between 90 and 120 on the 100+ mile stretch of highway. Had we even picked it up a little, we could have cut 20+ minutes off our time. No issue, we had a great time and came in safe. Aaron can drive his ass off in that GTI. Huge props to him. For not knowing you at all before this, I was impressed every time I checked my mirrors for him. Some corners, I didn't know how I made it through them, yet the GTI was right there. I'm working on a little vid from what I do have. I'll comment on day two later.
  6. If she's down to 15 hours, how is she even able to stay there? If she hasn't documented anything to support her claim for being treated unfair, this sounds like its going to be an unproductive outcome. Department of labor is where to go in the vacation pay. I had them chase down some money owed to me. Businesses do not like the department of labor contacting them. And in the end, if the are found to be at fault, then they are a known company for issues. I can tell the company that owed me money pretty much caved in and cooperated right away.
  7. Yup. They were simple to do and only a few bucks.
  8. Best pic I have. Bike is not with me right now, or I would have taken a better pic. And yes, the monster logo shit is coming off the coat. Only way the coat came in the US though. http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l284/dsnowgod/9ba4282e.jpg
  9. Fast signs, have them make up an adhessive one. That's how I did mine.
  10. Have the same set too, from 7 years ago. Had built the rx7 on 3 different set ups.
  11. Bugs me too. Only what I'm working on is on the desk top. Thanks
  12. Clark and I talked this yesterday. But it just comes down to what kind of rider you are and what you plan to do with the bike. Most people would be challenged on a 250 at a road course.
  13. Not showing 254 gigs on desk top with that program. Just shows the files I see. Checked. Nothing.
  14. Going through my computer, clearing things out and reorganizing. I noticed the memory/HD was more full than I figured it would be. Started clicking on the properties of each of folder, and the desk top shows 254 gigs. I only have 3 copies of my resume that I'm working on, on the desk top, and the trash can that's empty. I like to keep it clear. Only thing I can think is when I was copying movies from a friends external HD, I may have dropped them by accident outside what I see on the desk top. I had done that once before a long time ago with a single file and was able to search the file and then move it. Now, I don't see anything. I don't know what I'm looking for. How do I find this 254gigs? Thanks in advance.

  16. Kuwait is a vacation land. Has been for 10 years.
  17. https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=gmail&attid=0.2&thid=137be066174df227&mt=application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document&url=https://mail.google.com/mail/?ui%3D2%26ik%3D1165891f32%26view%3Datt%26th%3D137be066174df227%26attid%3D0.2%26disp%3Dsafe%26zw&sig=AHIEtbR5tFdrzuZCQ0IUk_QzJZpMgJJf5w&pli=1 I thought I would share this. If you are looking for work, I highly suggest looking into over seas contract work. There is work here in the states too. But going over seas is like putting your life on pause. But I'm a firm believer that you have to have some sacrifices to get the things you want. You could go work a couple years over seas, and come back to see that people are still doing the same things and you probably haven't missed all that much. However, you are probably in a far better place financially and you have been places and done things that you actually would probably like. Now, you may have had to live in a large tent with several people. You may have not had internet, or if you did it was slow. The food probably will taste terrible. I have no obligations except for an amazing girlfriend. No kids, no house payment, so this is easier for me to consider than it may be for some. I understand that hardship, but know the end result and it's worth it to us to explore the options of working with these companies. I have seen an office manager who was horrible at their job, making $143,000 a year. I see this and think "I don't even know this job and know I can do it with better efficiency and organization".
  18. Lots of small things to finish on the car. Shooting for Saturday night, but it will be last minute to roll it out. Monday we head out for the rally to Florida. I'm sure I'll have it out one weekend in Columbus shortly after we get back at the end of the month.
  19. Nice. Looking forward to catching up.
  20. Damn phone is killing me. You able to get a hall pass for Saturday? It's right down the street from your place.
  21. Damn setting won't let me edit posts again.
  22. Teaser of new carpet. It was a butterscotch/tan. The tan leather seats are for sale, went with black swede.
  23. You'll be right down the road from where I'll be at Saturday. Rude dog, have a friends Bday party, another friend's coming in town gathering, and me getting back to the states. The car has all new interior. Nothing new outside. Everything looks different under the hood, however, the set up is pretty much the same. Too many things to list.
