There are several new guns to the market in the last 10 months. Some of this is due to the Gov contract open for a new serve pistol. M&P 2.0 info came out this week, Ruger american pistol, Glock Gen4 S and a few others, along with what is listed in the above posts. I'll update this soon, so keep the suggestions coming. I'd like some data/experiance before just putting a gun on the list. EX. Hipoint. I have a school eating up my life right now, so this will likely happen in February, once more info is released for the new guns.

We can PM about this. But as a thought, bringing the dogs with you to class is an option. My dog is in the classroom and on the range the whole time. He is very friendly and playful with other dogs. If your dogs need to stay in the classroom, or a cage, while we are shooting, that could work out too. Just PM me and we can make something work.

Couple things. First, taking a shot at you. Has it been over looked that twinkle toes is scouring for credit on his man car this week. I mean, buying a bow and now a truck, there's hope for you yet. ^^ The guy who wrote that is an asshole. Moving on. I've not commented here, but have been on the truck watch for quite some time. Yenner's damn truck is a nightmare to me, because it's well priced and all I really need for right now. I wish someone would just buy the thing so I know it is gone. I wrestle many of that same features you said you were after. A month or two ago I wrote up a long thread about buying a truck, and then deleted it. Much of what I was looking for is covered in this thread. Reading the replies here have all been helpful, but also made me realize, I'm not getting a truck anytime soon. Good luck in getting what you want.

There are some great suggestion here already, with good detail. I lived on Oahu for almost 4 years. Here are a few things that stick out to me. Drive the islands you visit. On Oahu, the Like Like highway, pronounced leaky leaky, will bring you up over the mountains from the windward to the leeward side of the island. There are several scenic pull offs along the nice twisty road with tunnels. Some pull offs have trails you can hike. When you are heading down the highway, back toward Waikiki, there is one pull off that has a short trail to a nice cliff diving spot. Beware, at times locals didn't want us there, but were friendly after seeing us there several times. Cool sight either way. Go to Pearl Harbor and take it in. Don't talk, just observe and talk about it later. Damn. Waimea Falls is a pretty cool place also. As you are facing the ocean, off to the left of the beach and around the point, is the toilet bowl. This would be a great bucket list item, except...see below. Here is a vid from someone upset about the law suit, from GEETO, after visiting there. Staying on the bucket list, one of the most exhilarating things I did on Oahu was go skydiving up on the North Shore. When you exit the plane, the first thing you do is crap you pants, that's just all there is to it. The reason for this is not the height, it's not that you are going to fall 12,000+ feet or that you may be tandem and have no control. Nope, you crapped your pants because at 12,000+ feet, you can't help but think "there is no way we are going to land on land and not in the water". Don't forget, you are right on the shore for the airstrip and you are falling over water the whole time at terminal velocity, a slow 120mph. Are you talking running tires with out TPS in them? The Winter set ups for both of our Subies doe not have TPS in them. The light is on in the dash, that's it. Can't imagine it would be all that different from different makes of cars.

Carrying legally, creates a lot of additional frustrations and responsibilities. People cutting corners to have a gun on them is a scary risk. By cutting corners I mean, gun in a back pack/ off body with no holster, bags being forgotten around campus with a gun in it (happens every day), and many other things that will need to be addressed and reminded to students who decide to carry. The reality is that an attack on OSU or any other Ohio campus is extremely unlikely to happen again. Some things to keep in mind, in 2011 Ohio was number two in the US for highest population of Somali's who have ties to Islamic groups with an interest in harming the US. Enacting a law that allows students and staff to carry, is a huge deterrent for an area to go do bad things.

Looks like I took too long eating dinner and writing this. Oh, well. I'm not so sure I can agree with that, AJ. You'll still need to be 21 to be legal with a CHL and owning a handgun. So, for the straight out of HS to college crowd, that's a JR or SR year student. I wouldn't expect to see a surge in that group for totting a gat. I think the more positive view on this, is the veteran student group that is trained, and would be able to carry. Several stories were aired about veterans stepping into action to ensure their follow students were safe, should the attacker on OSU end up in their area. There are always going to be dangers with allowing guns in places. I would be willing to bet there is a high likelihood of current, under aged, untrained students with weapons on campus. The Governor has been very gun friendly from my viewpoint, for the last few years. Like, surprisingly accommodating to what my personnel interests are. I see the ability of a responsible person, properly credentialed, to be able to maintain their arms to remain safe. Now, the argument many will give is that the Second Amendment has nothing to do with being properly credentialed. "Right shall not be infringed", yet in today's age, our laws infringe and have requirements. Ben, I believe you work on a campus, is that right? If this law was to be passed, your employee handbook will need to address this topic. For instance, 3 years ago a Kroger employee shot and killed a 18 year old who went in and robbed the customer service counter at midnight, using a gun. Kroger's employee handbook stated that employees can not carry while on the clock. However, we all know customers can carry in Krogers, unless posted otherwise. This need to be address to HR and the department heads.

It's a basic one, but really I feel that is all that I need for where I'm hunting. I actually considered using that this year. Hunting parks and the suburbs sounds like a lot of PITA for the chance of reward. I would not hunt in Ohio, if I didn't have deer come to my land. It is a bit frustrating.
