Many of you have known me on here and in person for a long time. You may have notice I took some time off from teaching. I posted last year in March about my Father being diagnosed with cancer and many on here came forward with a flood of helpful information. We moved my Dad here from Vermont for his treatment, and with that came many days and nights in the emergency room and of course the 8 weeks of treatment and follow on care. I did some one on one training, but didn't feel I could hold scheduled classes because of the frequency we were at the hospital with short notice. With that all behind us now and Dad moved back home, I'm back to scheduling classes. The next CCW class is Saturday, January 13th. It should work out where I have one a month scheduled. That should leave a little time for private lessons still, and allow for people to plan farther out. If you have a group or a date that you know works, feel free to message me and I will try to work with that information. Thanks CR for the support with my family and in training. Time is 8am to 8pm. Location is New Albany/Johnstown area, about 15 minutes from Easton. PM me for exact address. We still teach a one day, 12 hour class that covers the NRA Basic Pistol course and much more, to give you all that is needed for CCW in Ohio. There is extensive emphasis on marksmanship, with one on one training. Please PM me to be added to the class roster, or for any questions. As always, if you are interested in setting up a class with your family and friends, PM me to have a private class. Couples, PLEASE do all you can to do the class together. We want you both on the same page, as shown by the discount. Cost is $80 per person + $10 for gun rental and ammo, if needed. Couples are $130 + $10 for gun rental and ammo, per person if needed. We commit to making sure you are trained. If you do not pass the range portion, we will retrain you, at no cost, other than gun and ammo use if needed. If you don't pass the written test, we will work with you so you can pass it, at no cost. If you just don't like how I teach and don't want to retrain, I'll give you your money back. At this time we have no intention of going to a shorter class time; less than 12 hours. We have reviewed our course material and feel that cutting information covered, does not serve the student best. To register for the class , message me here or text or call the number below. Thank you.

With a challenging, both for the time and the expense that would cover the cost of another car; my remodel of the kitchen is starting today. So, I will not be part of this one. 2012 and 2013 rallies provided amazing sights, stories, and bounds with other rally members. Doc, you continue to be the corner stone of CR's involvement with RNA. I would encourage anyone interested to get in on this ASAP. It fills up fast and is a top item for a bucket list or just to really live and have some fun.

It’s more of a maintaince thing. It’s likely there is some build up of carbon or other material at 55,000 miles. No build up does any good. If treatment is worth while, I’m looking at doing it.

There are dozens of vids out there about this, and they all vary to some extent.

I've spent a little bit of time over the last few weeks looking into fuel treatment/ fuel injector cleaners. There are many inconsistencies out there for whether they work and if they are good or if they are bad. What I'm finding for the most part, is that they all require a few tanks of treatments, and that they are not just a one time treatment and you are good. I'm a bit of a maintenance hound and have never run into any fuel related issues with my cars. But, I think I can see some value to doing this once a year. Pros of treatment seem to be increased fuel economy, better power response and just over all breaking up the carbon build up and getting rid of it from the piston head. Different ones seem to do better at one thing over another. Cons are they can be pricey and do they even work? My tentative plan is to treat one tank with Lucas and then run 2-3 tanks using BG 44K Fuel System Cleaner. Looking to have Lucas break up the surface material and them let the BG 44K Fuel System Cleaner do the deeper cleaning. Do you guys use fuel treatments? What and how do you run it? What results have you seen?

What vehicle features/options can you not "live" without?
Mojoe replied to BigOxley's topic in Passing Lane
For me as a daily, it's AWD, bluetooth, AC, and some form to sync your phone to the car. Apple car play is going in the STi soon, for Waze app on the head unit. -
All new appliances for the kitchen. My wife has had her eye on a fridge that retailed for $2800. WTF!!!!!! With Home Depot, we got the fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave range, and a new 10 cb ft freezer for $3300, delivered. Normal retail for all of them was about $6000.

Playing in the Streets, what's it take these days?
Mojoe replied to 99StockGT's topic in Passing Lane
500+ whp has never been more usable on the street than it is today. Suspension and drive train, with engine management options simply create the ability for usable power when you want it. Your options are to pay big numbers, make it yourself, and hope you have the skill to control it all. Street racing; meeting up and running other people for $ or fun, might be what you mean when asking what it takes to play in the streets. I'm more a fan of a capable car with a reasonable amount of power that can fair well in the random highway encounter. Now, if you take your beast of a car out and troll for kills, of course that would work. A run in with someone on a daily drive is just more fun for me, so long as there is no traffic issue. 800+ whp and light weight, or 4 digits with most cars just seems to be the normal. 300-500hp is off the showroom floor, and just the platform for people to start their builds now. 400-800 gets respect at C&C or other meets. But, I think to be in the game is far more $ than I care to part with to get a power level that is reliant. -
Unwinding doesn't really happen, I guess. There is always something I find to do. I don't watch TV. I loved playing Xbox live with people, 5+ years ago. But now, I just see TV as a waste of time, when I could be working on something. Buying a house 5 years ago, has me enjoying the progress on projects and completing them, and that feeling is my reward, which relaxes me. Probably not what you are looking for. I will say, when the weather is warm, I fish as often as I can. In the Fall, I hunt. Being out doors has been the balance for me. I guess that's all it comes down to, what's the balance for you?

Slow Motion does it in house now.

Rick, I know when I talked to you at the show, you had said you hit the "car goal" of 100 entries. How did the fund raiser go over all? And what were the results of the show for the categories? I saw a pic with Doc and a trophy. Congrats, Doc.

Was good seeing those that went. The kids were all really nice to talk to and respectful of the cars. Well done putting this together, Rick.

While this vid doesn't tell much about the shooter, it takes average people in America and has them on video with how they react to chaos. It's frustrating to watch and listen too. And it makes me think we need to do better at reporting details to law enforcement. The campaign of "see something, say something" is a good start, but people don't seem to know what to look for and don't look. With 3-4 people in that car, no one seemed to be giving aid to the girl said to have a broken leg. No one was trying to report the situation with detail to the police within this group of people. Granted, there had been roughly 7 minutes that had passed when the shooting was no longer heard, and maybe they had reported something. Media reports the weapons had flash suppressors. That rate of fire, which seems to have been from a bumpfire stock, would not suppress flash, nor is it meant to completely hide the flash. Most are designed to aid in muzzle control allowing the gas escaping the barrel to go in a direction to allow the shooter to be back on target faster. It seems non of the weapons were modified, other than the bumpfire stock. Given it was at night and there are gold reflective windows, a room with a broken window and lights on would stick out in the dark. Even if lights were off, the flash would be easier seen, like someone turning the lights on and off. Had the windows not been broken out as much as they were, I think the shooter would have concealed the position better from outside observation. I'm just thinking this out, and saying some things surely don't add up. The public can do better at getting info reported, but will need to be told not to exaggerate. Such as the Walmart shooting in Beaver creek, Ohio a few years ago. The shooter wired $100K the Philippines for his girlfriend. Oddly, the shooters brother simply says that him sending $100k "really isn't that much money". The brother also says that the shooter is the reason he is well off and that he was generous with his money. Vagas has the shooter in their "High Roller" comp catagory as well. $100k is living pretty large in the Philippines, and could have been done as him knowing he was going to do a final stand and wanting her to be well off. BTW, it sounds like she has been located and brought back to the US. Reports say she landed in LA and was being escorted. Maybe she can say what the motive was. Is she the same lady that was at the concert, that was telling people they are all going to die?

Renewal seems to be getting easier. I did mine in Licking county this morning and it was smooth. Things to know: You have a 30 day grace period for renewal. You can renew in a neighboring county to where you reside. EX. Live in Franklin Co and work in Newark, you can go to Licking County Sheriff for renewal. Call and make appointment with Sheriff's office and ask what they want you to bring in. $50 cash, Drivers Lic and old CCW card were all they wanted. The ORC says you have to fill out a application. However, all I had to do was answer some "yes" and "no" form. Basically asking if my eligibility to have a gun and renew my CCW has changed since your were last issued your CCW. They re-finger print you. They took my picture there, so wear something super cool. I was out of there in less than 20 minutes, and they said I'd get the new card in the mail. Remember, these things are a little different from county to county. One county may not have the budget to have a camera set up with the computer, decide they want the full application updated. Call ahead and be sure you know what you need so you don't waste your time or theirs.

I've had both and have upgraded them both. It came down to personnel preference for me. I like the location of the safety on the 870 and not the one on the 500. The 500 seemed to rattle a lot, and that bugged me. They both functioned well, with no issues. My favorite overlooked shotgun right now is the 887 Nitro Mag. Fiber optic sight and 2 3/4"-3 1/2" shells, makes this a fun gun in the $400 range. http://www.deguns.net/product-p/5063.htm KEY FEATURES: Action design based on the venerable Model 870 - ultra-smooth and reliable Rugged ArmorLokt™ coating totally prevents rust on all exterior surfaces SuperCell recoil pad reduces the felt recoil up to 54% Our softest-shooting pump gun ever Awesome balance and natural pointing characteristics Handles 12-gauge 2 3/4", 3", 3 1/2" loads interchangeably 2-shot magazine extension Barrel clamp with integral Picatinny rails Rugged synthetic stock and fore-end with specially contour grip panels 18 1/2" barrel with solid rib and HiViz® front sight Sling swivel studs built-in Includes ported, extended tactical Rem Choke

I noticed your suggestion was closer. Oh wait, you just criticize. It's 10 minutes south on 71 from Polaris. Might not be the exact area you want, but it's another option.

Built a pressure treated deck in November of 2015. May of 2016 I use wood cleaner and let the proper drying time happen. I watched the weather for three warm and dry days with temps over 60, in fact they were in the mid 70's. Used Thompson's Water Seal. By Fall of 2016 it was chipping and flaking off. We used a very light tint, almost a clear. Redid the whole thing this year with deck over. 6x thicker than paint. 4.5 gal was $150. It was a pain in the ass to put on, but it fixed my issue. Needed two coats. That said, I also built a dock on our pond this year and used composite decking. Waited for Menards to have the 11% rebate deal, and caught it on sale. Still cost a damn fortune, but I have decided I will go with composite from now on. Staining is a pain. Staining not working and taking up my time and money to redo just pisses me off. Would rather pay more for the composite decking and be done with it.

Click on this link. https://www.rmgtcpasettlement.com/Home.aspx Left side at the top, click file claim. Check the 3rd option to input your phone number and see if they called you. $300 per call, capping at $900. My number was on there. I called the Attorney General office last year and reported this company. I also filed a report on the the AG's website. Looks like others did too. Probably will payout in 2075. GL
