I do love my RPR in .17HMR. It is by far the gun I have hands on the most for the last year. I have several Bergara's and have enjoyed everything about them. I picked up a Bergara BXR in carbon fiber and run subsonics suppressed through it. With a Diamondback 4x16, it covers all I want in the daytime. A .22 in bolt action hasn't shown to have any more accuracy to me. If varmint are intended use, than a follow up secondary shot may be needed and semi auto wins out there for me. Jelloman has seen me shot dandelion stems at 100 yards with a semi auto 10/22. What more do you want to do with a .22 that isn't covered by that?

I can’t say 100%, but this is my thought on it. I think it’s going to be on a case by case basis and your longevity of having your concealed carry certainly aids in it beings simplified for you. This isn’t something you have any control over. It’s no different than if you had lost a hand altogether and not able to provide fingerprints for that other hand. It just is what it is.I may suggest, before you renew next time to call them and address this as a possible issue. That way if it is an issue while you’re there everything aids in your favor.

That place was on a hard decline and shady ownership. Do I want gas indoor karting, yes! Aaron and his staff were racers and that's what made the place great in the beginning. The two brothers that own it with the third that they brought in manage it, after a wrongful firing of Aaron, coupled with the poor location feeds to the demise. Management was terrible. They brought the third brother in to be a GM, he retired from the military, the other brothers (the money) gave him a job. The Gm would stop in 1-2 times a week and not do much. The marketing staff worked hard and were fighting uphill to try and get promotions approved by the brothers to bring in business. The first marketing lady was awesome with deals and the place was hopping. She had enough and left. Chris came in to marketing after, and was a solid dude making things happen too, but the damage was done. They went through 2-4 building managers before I stopped following. The cost didn't balance out when the track was run like shit. Unnecessarily long waiting because they could not keep the flow of getting on and off the track. A racing enthusiast would only leave there pissed off, while the average joe was there for high speed bumpers cars. They did Aaron wrong and the place was never the same. I have 3 xmas parties I did there, 1 car show/meet I organized and 100+ races in their system. I wanted to like this place.

I have the WooLoo, 2 of them. I keep one in the boat and one in the wife's car. Has saved our cousins when their boat battery dies on the water. And we have helped someone with a dead battery in a parking lot. Super handy and good to know you have a quick fix with you.

I like seeing the variations in how you all like to smoke. I'm not closed minded to one being the best. Whatever works for you and you enjoy the food and the process, that's what's right for you. xlr8n and Greg bring up a good topic on taking one on vacation. A vacation smoker has been a quest for me for over a year now. We spend two weeks on the lake in the Summer and I have several hunting and fishing trips planned in the years coming. Having the ability to smoke on these trips would be great. I bought a Green Mountain, the Davy Crockett, smoker last year and it was terrible. Hours on the phone with tech. Replaced controller, wouldn't regulate heat temp, so the cook took forever and it wasn't very good. Had to finish it in the oven. It was suppose to have wifi and control through their app, that was inconsistent and sucked too. Got rid of that thing. Traeger has a tailgater, or something like that, but I'm hearing that it is having heat control issues. I don't want one with folding legs, I like the "tailgate" cook idea. I ordered this one yesterday. Seems it is only sold by Walmart online. For $200 it's hard to expect much, or care if it fails. Reviews seem good, I can return it if it sucks. I'm heading out to Branson, MO in few weeks and plan to do a cook there with it. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Country-Smokers-The-Traveler-Portable-Wood-Pellet-Grill/572860654

When photobucket said fuck you, posting images fell off by 60%. This tread died. Insert Ruger Precision .17HMR, ATN 4k Pro, with ABL1500, Sniper Hog 66LRX IR Light, suppressed.

I think this vid talks about that Webber for his dad in the beginning. Embedding is kicking my ass.

Combos that I found are the Pit Boss KC combo, something from Cuisineart and camp chef. BIGGU, same here with the points you made. Clay, do you even BBQ Bro? LOL. Whatever works.

Combos are a hard find. I posted about looking on FB and you didn’t reply there. Rectec is nice, but no combo. Not a combo though.

I know with Derek's BBQ trailer we don't need to smoke or BBQ our own meat anymore. But, for those that do, what are you working with? I started doing some smoking about 3 years ago. I just wanted venison jerky. I am by no means gifted at a grill or smoker, but I have had some pretty good cooks now. I was working with a pellet grill, Cabela's Pro Series 24. Plenty of room to cook for our small household. We also have a 36" Char Broil propane grill, with side burner, getting rid of that soon. New setup is on order. I found myself with far more grilling items taking up space than what I was using, or wanted. I smoke about 12-15 times a year, and have been grilling less than that. I will likely be doing a lot more in the future. When looking to consolidate for space and functionality, it seemed my options were pretty limited for a smoker with wifi and propane cooking too. I'm not getting rid of propane, because you don't need power to cook with it. It's just a great fall back option to have. The smoker is my main focus though. The tech is out there for good wifi management and app function. Traeger really seems to have a good thing going with theirs, but they don't have a propane option. The issues I was finding is that many companies are putting out a product that has poor material and patchy tech functionality. It truly is a "get what you pay for" mind set for intuitive smoking options. Having an app to manage your smoke really streamlines your efforts for cooks that go over several hours. I'm not talented enough to feed a fire and maintain a certain cooking temp, nor do I want my time taken up with that, so pellet smoking is where it's at for me. When I have a smoke on, I'm doing many other things like fishing the pond, mowing, or working on something in the shop. I can have a wifi meat probe in, and set the app to tell me when the internal temp is where I want it. This is just what works for me and lets me do other things, rather than sit and watch over a cook. You could get a stand alone wifi temp probe that does this, and that's what I have been working with for a year now. But if I'm upgrading, I want an all in one. Remember, I'm consolidating, and I want to do that with functionality too. Like I said, my new set up is on order. I'd like to hear what you guys run and what you like, or what you dislike when smoking or "working you meat".

Moved into our house in 2013. Have a detached garage with 8' double door. Also have a 28'x40' shop with a 10' double door. That all said, when we bought our house, I never thought I would have bought a side by side and a boat. The boat fits just nice by height in the shop. The side by side on the trailer, can fit in the shop too. Without the trailer, I park the side by side in the garage. Wish the garage doors were 10'. Point being, go bigger and cry once. You may want it later.

Very cool story indeed, I only learned of it a couple years ago. I refer to it when doing leadership classes. There are the rules and policies, and then there are things that may work, but don't make 100 %sense at first glance. The impact this man made is his cause for being legend.

Festive as a mutha fucka.

I did this on my Silverado that was parked outside. They tore up the hood liner and made a nest. Then I put this in and didn't have an issue with the new hood liner. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DVX2L68/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Not following their product list well for details, or yours is discontinued. Which one is it? https://www.vltor.com/product-category/ar/upper-receivers/

It's a tough time for sure. I understand we just got lucky with materials, and I'll take it. I like how all this went down and the wife loves new look on the house. She knows my expectations and that I am frequently let down with the end results on things. That too makes me pleased with the overall transaction.

Yeah, this is going to be a bit drawn out, but I want to share my experience with having Steve and his crew work on my house. I'll start with the huge frustration in the past of dealing with contractors. I'm not an easy person to deal with, but have clear expectations and ensure I communicate them. Steve was 100% on point with this from the start. After months of looking for someone to remodel a bathroom, we finally decided the exterior of the home needed attention more so than the bathroom. We changed gears and shifted out interested to the siding of the house. It had cedar siding, which I would have loved, had the previous owners not painted it 2-3 times. Add to that I repainted it, from baby shit yellow to a clay color. It was rotting in several spots and it was time for it to go. I reached out to Steve-O on here for an estimate and he was prompt in his reply and scheduling. I also reached out to Feazel roof and siding for a second estimate. They failed to show after 2 reschedules and then a call 10 minutes late from the time they set, to try and reschedule again. Not happening. Steve was quick to get the estimate back to us and come out to go over color options with my wife and I. Everytime Steve said he would be here, he was on time and great with a text prior to showing up. That means a lot to me. When I'm taking a five digits out of my bank account to pay someone, the least they can do is communicate well, and Steve did that. We paid our deposit and were told it would be 3-6 weeks before materials would likely be in, and it could be longer. It just depended on material. So now I'm like anyone else, with a chunk of cash out of pocket, IS MY HOUSE DONE YET? With only a week gone by, I knew it was still going to be a bit before they could get started. But then Steve called and said our material was in, and asked when were we ok to have them start. It had just been a week, so I was happy about that. I think I said the next day, and no shit the whole crew was here around 8:30. I'm up at 4-5am everyday, so when I see people I'm paying that are up early too and working, I get all happy inside. The crew was organized, respectful of my yard and driveway, and the overall property in general. They started the tear off of the old siding and when they got around to the back of the house we ran into some issues. Carpenter ants had gotten under the cedar and eaten away at most of the areas around a window that was not installed correctly. Add new window and framing to the cost of this project. This was on an addition that was done to the house before we bought it. They used 1" foam board instead of OSB or plywood, and put the cedar over that. Add tear all that shit off and go buy OSB at $24 a sheet. That was something I could go do, so I paid for that and went with a crew member in their truck to get it. Dudes were just wanting to work and do what needed done, and again it made me feel good about how these guys worked. 36 sheets of OSB later, new window framed in, and we are up and running again. However, this cost them an extra day they would need to wrap it all up. We also ran into two other spots with carpenter ants. Fortunately we caught those areas early and all the ant issues were dealt with. We had no ants in the house, so we were very surprised by this. The crew members worked on Saturday and then came in to finish a half day on Sunday. Monday was the punch out, that's when the crew chief comes through and inspects the quality of all the work. Several things were fine tuned and they wrapped up the job. Through this job, I decided to install new downspouts and all new lighting on the outside of the house. The damn project kept growing. Downspouts will be back up Friday after Gutter Helmet comes out to fix their bad install. Steve reached out yesterday to come out and do a final walk through and payment. He was flexible with us needing evening hours to meet throughout this work. He found a couple things to fine tune, but they were very small details. Here's what matters to me as a homeowner. I cannot say enough about the importance of communication. Being genuine and respectful to the homeowners and the property. Having good crew members that are not sketchy to chat with and are nice also. Seeing noticeable progress daily, even when hurdles come up. Even with Stave not being on site everyday, he managed the crew. Which speaks volumes more for Steve to have several sites going and for mine to have gone so well. I don't need to see Steve swinging the hammer, just get my house done. He did that. So now you probably want to see pics. Well, I stopped doing pics when photobucket took a dump. Steve has some and we talked about him posting them. I'm sure he will jump in here. Steve, please have your crew read this. We did thank them all, but it is important to us for them to know how well you all did. Thanks Steve.

Awesome trip. Wife wants to do this one.

Pond management is something I'm considering for a retirement gig. I'll have 10 years of working it by then. Still have a lot that I could learn. I'm sure I'll end up in a few courses from Hocking College for more info.

For the most part, it's almost never the gun, but the shooter. There have been many times people have brought a gun to me and said there was an issue with it. I watch them shoot and see somethings that could be the issue. Then I shoot the gun and am effective on target with it. Most issues with a handgun are fixed with 500 rounds of "training" with the gun. From what I see, many people go shoot guns, and are upset it's not amazing from the start. I hated Glock's for damn near 10 years. It wasn't them, it was me. When I decided to train with a G19, it was a little different in small things. There are going to be some guns you just don't like. But that's you not liking it. The gun is probably fine for someone else. XDS guns are like that for me. Nothing wrong with them, just not what I like.

Spring fed ponds are commonly what are on farms. Pretty self sustaining at keeping things in balance. My pond was made for a geothermal pump and dump system that was put in back in the 80's. Easy for things to get out of control when it's just a big puddle of water. When you want to have it for fish to thrive in, you have to be the one to keep things in balance. Managing the thermocline, oxygen levels, muck and algae are main challenges. From there, what's taking from your pond? Harron's, turtle's, muskrats are all competition to my fishing efforts. Don't let the cattails get out of control. Those are always fun to deal with too. Ponds that are over an acre are often easier to manage because they balance themselves better, unless you get an algae issue or something else, like duckweed.

They are just big aquariums.

I run two systems like this in my pond. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01B6GHLTY/ref=sspa_dk_detail_4?pd_rd_i=B01B6GB1UY&pd_rd_w=0dJqT&pf_rd_p=48d372c1-f7e1-4b8b-9d02-4bd86f5158c5&pd_rd_wg=NLhqc&pf_rd_r=25GY6HTSW749AFKEVTRB&pd_rd_r=0f53e005-c413-4882-84a6-bebdad231144&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFKUEtCWTZLS0tSWUMmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA1NzY1MjgyUzE2RkxVME02UlRWJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA0MDAxMThZTVRBWFg3TEFFVjQmd2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9kZXRhaWwmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl&th=1 I would just put one or two of the diffusers on for the deep end. I have run this style pump for 5+ years and only had to replace one.
