  1. I feel like someone has posted about this before. If only there was a way to search the forum .......
  2. ^^ I don't know of anyone who has done anything with a 3.6. I wouldn't think there would be much more than bolt ons. As far as tuning, I'm sure some one out there would do it, I I'm thinking $500 to get slightly better performance and maaaaybe MPG, and that's with bolt ons. So, $2000+ probably for very little in the end. That is just my estimate after doing a 2 second search for after market options.
  3. ^^Celebrate and have fun, Ryan. We always have classes throughout the year. Just a couple open seats for this weeks class.
  4. I sold the access port I had and went with a pro tune. In the STi, there is "IDrive", it's a dial that can give you different settings for driving the car. With the installation of an electronic boost solenoid, you can have these settings tuned to maps of your preference. I usually run a de-tuned "eco" map. The mid map is just a stock map, and the third is 18lbs of boost for a little bit of fun. The cob would run a 93, stage 2 map at 20lbs of boost. I just didn't have a need to run the stock turbo that hard. You can pro tune with the cob access port, but I wasn't finding anyone local I wanted to go to at the time. Been pro tuned for a year and have had zero issues.
  5. The V3 does some cool things. But, you might just need a V2. The cost is tremendously less.
  6. I have 3 maps I run, and like to be able to switch on the fly with the the I drive. For the forester, with the V3, do you have to select the map and shut the car of, then turn it back on to load the map?
  7. FB page or online forum for Central Ohio Subarus. Good people on there, and better price getting it used. Just make sure it is unmarried. Personally, I sold my V3 003 and did a pro tune. Why are you wanting the Access port?
  8. Insurance cost is so freaking ridiculous right now. I had seen that the national average was $623 a month for a family. That's a nice car payment. It's worth it to join the National Guard, and get full family coverage for $205 an month, or $56 a month for a single person, which is less than you would receive from you drill pay. Hope this health care cost issue changes soon.

    BOOM!

If you own an RX7, you know about working with challenging things. So, unless you were told to join from someone, please tell us more about you or the car. Pics would be great too. If you were told to join by someone, let's get this started. I'm Joe. Welcome.

    LOL

Please don't try to give business advice. I'm sure this thread stirs you up a bit, but it's not a good topic for you to critique. This is not a race you are in. And, this is the Kitchen, it can turn into anything.
  11. Looking forward to this class. Will be doing some training this weekend that may end up as new material added to our classes.
  12. Joker, your intro was challenging. I personally still write with crayons. But, on the intrawebs I have to bump up my grammar and spelling skills, to communicate with people. That may help you out also. We welcome new insight, as you know from being here before. But, not everyone knows you. So, help us get to know you and why you are into sport econo cars.
  13. I like it, if it's lighter and with stronger components. Not that the typical STi has weak components, but I'm sure there will be a $47K tag on this model, so make they better make it stronger. The power is what it will always be with these cars. Even at 330hp, that is still less than bolt ons and a tune of current and past STi's. Now, if they wanted to produce 375+hp, well then you have a huge woody and can run around humping everything.
  14. I dislike the rotary for a daily. For a fun car though, I love the WHAT THE FUCK factor of a light mid 400hp, from a rotary.
  15. What's a short time? What improvements were needed that you are referring to? The 26B, 3 rotor, motor would be an amazing option to see in this car, even if it were NA. If they did an NA and a turbo option, the Mazda fans would be very happy. People hung up on Apex seals as a weak point, are completely out of touch with that being a non issue for over a decade. The rotary motor most likely will always have a low mpg, because the build design uses excessive fuel use to assist in cooling. And, with modification for more output from the motor, comes more fuel demand and use = low MPG. 90% of the issues with rotary cars can be traced back to the owners for lack of maintenance, and not knowing what to do for care.
  16. Now I have a SAMs club shopping list. See you Friday. Brian, let me know if I can help at all.

    Walking Dead

Anyone have a good torrent or link to watch current season shows? Kickass is all jacked up now.
  18. New Engladers hope for bad weather to test themselves, and find joy in the misery of others dealing with bad weather.
  19. Great numbers and awesome job attacking the add ons. You should have me all day, everyday, but I'm up for a run in the FD.

  21. There are 8 in this class so far, but we have room for 4 more.
