  3. hey guys i'm in the market for a clutch master cyl from any newer style bike. need this set up for my new stunt bike. if anyone has one around from a parts bike or because they upgraded let me know something like this
  4. saw the audi vs bmw but none of the others.
  5. well i have the same bike as you and i can offer some suggestions cheap exhaust = a&R baffle kit (you get the sound but not looks) i bought one for $75 bucks ready to rock. (still have it if you need a cheap solution) inexpensive exhaust = danmoto (good fit, great sound, acceptable finish) good deal = pony has deal right now on scorpion Ti for our bike for $400 (only way to say Ti for under 700 bucks) high end = leo or yoshi (going for around 600-700) hands down best = akro if you want the best sound/performance bite the bullet and pull out the visa full systems on our bikes have scavenger pipes so there is a diffrence as we dont have the extra tubes. on that note i would still stay with slip+ypipe for the 3/4 system but buy it seperate unless you find killer deal. the bike already has Ti cans so if its not carbon or Ti dont bother because its still a downgrade if you dont stay with those matterials. IMHO edit here is pics of most of them: http://www.r1-forum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=263092&highlight=09+exhaust
  6. buy gear (ebay is great for jackets/boots) get a new helmet as they do go bad over time. gloves could be bought used also. msf course is good but you could skip that and take trackday course also, either way your going to get good seat time in on the bike, thats the biggest thing you need is seattime. when spring comes around i would suggest avoiding bikenights/tacobell meets till you get a few months under your belt. riding with groups of people is how new riders get pressured into keeping up and sometimes riding over their limit and getting hurt. RIDE YOUR OWN RIDE, go out with personal buddys at first till you get comfortable.
  7. i always start with clutch pulled and i've done it with sidestand up and down. i'm honlestly at my whits end with this damn zuk. so glad its not my real bike cause i would be pulling my hair out if i actually care about it.
  8. yes cranks if you put juice to starter and cranks STRONG> but not getting any click from relay. which does point to relay so i'm going to get another one even though they said its fine at the dealer. really the only part i havent replaced or checked to be good myself
  9. had some computer issues and was waiting for new button. but bad news. same symtoms with the new button. the cars have always been off then they were being jumped from them but i just bought a new battery so i could rule that out. when i took the relay into pony the tech there tested it and said it was good. i know he knows better then me but i guess its worth trying a diffrent one. im going to send this starter button back and see if they have a relay instead. so sick of messing with this damn suzuki and in the mean time when i tried putting th battery back in the yamaha it fried the 30amp in that. went and bought another and it friend as soon as i put it in. frustrating day with bikes........
  10. well guys think i tracked it down. i opend the startbutton up and found that it was only seeing 8volts there instead of 12. so i tried jumping the starter relay and it tried to crank. when i try to press starter button it wont make the relay click so im thinking that when i had car battery hooked up it had more then enough volts to make conncetion. but otherwise its shot.
  11. well did a little more testing the y/g wire is only seeing 8.4 volts and when i push starter buttong like 2 volts. i think that might be the issue here. i'm going to try to source another button and see if that fixed the problem
  12. well the tip over switch didnt stop it from cranking when it fired the 1 time when i got it home. so i dont really think that the right area. besides to my knowledge that will still let it crank but not fire. and like i said the starter relay and rectifier i took into dealership with pages from manual and they tested them in front of me with multi meter. i hate electrical problems i can do the minor stuff but this is starting to feel way over my head
  13. so tip over sensor was up in correct position. and i didnt see any pinched or unhooked wiring. i checked clutch lever to make sure it was hitting the switch and i didnt see anything unnormal there. pics of what i'm seeing this was only thing that look a little strange; didnt know if this is something out of ordinary or if these just get dirty because of their location
  14. gonna go out and check now for tip over and any pinched wiring. thanks guys i'll report back
  15. battery has 13.1 and is the tip-over switch the one in the tail that has arrow pointing up? pushing is a bandaid i want to fix the bike.
  16. so i bought a gsxr6 under impression that it didnt hold a charge. but when i pick it up the guy throws cables on it and it cranks and fires. so i load it up and bring it home but the next day when i try to crank it, she dosent fire. so i throw some cables on it and still wont crank. i pull off tank and airbox and check connections and she cranks and fires right up. so i put her back together and she wont crank at all again. i bust her back down and try to check connections again but still no crank. so i search online for manual and to check others experiences. #1 thing i see is rectifier issues so i pull mine off and take to dealer and they check and it comes out ok. so i see where starter relay is next big thing i pull off and take to dealer that checks ok. so i bust out manual and that says next try to connect starter cable to battery, start cranks strong like it did when it did crank the few times. so next i check that its in nuetral and put up kickstand as those are sometimes issues and still no crank. i'm kind of out of ideas an the manual isnt giving me much else to go on. i did go and buy a new battery so jumping and cables are out of the picture here any thoughts, ideas, suggestions? i'm really trying to avoid taking this into dealership/mechanic shop. all the wiring appears to be good and like i said it was good enough to crank few times so i believe it to still be ok. its low mileage bike to my knowledge and doesnt have any signs of "under-maintence" or negligence

  21. make sure you ride 33/riverside from downtown up to the zoo. one of my favorite scenic intown rides.
  22. i have bigger issues then insurance if my bike is wrecked im probably seriously maimed or dead. i dont pay for insurance and i have technique to making it work for me. been in court several times and everyone from the judge to the clerk says i check out you just gotta know how to work the system. i dont believe in "what ifs"; its still cheaper to just repair the bike then paying out insurance for no reason every month. just how i do it, dont recommend for anyone else
