Awesome new feature!! I've seen some map stuff on other forums, but this is better and will actually be more useful on this type of site. Great job!! (have i mentioned this site has the funniest collection of smilies I've seen, every time I look through the list for one it cracks me up)
I agree with everyone else. This forum seems to be pretty stable and I don't ever see it having performance issues. I would keep it as-is. BTW. I am a PHP developer by day, I would be willing to help out if needed.
Franklin classes canceled for tonight now too. Unfortunately, they rescheduled them for Friday. I was going to take the wife out for Valentine's on Friday night since we'll be busy all weekend. I guess I'm skipping this class. Darn...
You can usually deal a little, though not a lot, generally. Best bet is to find a used one with really low miles. Example, I saw a M1100s (@14k) with all the the dealer mods: full Termi exhaust, upgraded ducati seat,Sato rear sets, and tons of CF. It would have ran @18k or more MSRP at the dealer. It had @600 miles and it sold for @$12k. http://www.ducatimonster.org/forums/monsters-sale/194587-fs-2009-ducati-monster-1100s-red-full-termi-800mi-like-new.html
Yeah, same here. Main roads are fine. The roads in my area are usually ignored, but someone in my complex had a bobcat and cleaned a bunch of them on Saturday, including my driveway. What's left is big clumps of ice.
I think the new Streetfighters are awesome!! I was really thinking about getting one of them or even the Monster 1100 before I got my zx6r this winter. I just decided I could get the ninja with cash and would have needed to finance those. The maintenance isn't really that bad anymore, it's just a reputation from the older bikes that's still hanging around. Checking the valve clearances is really the only big thing and those intervals are much longer than they used to be. I think the ergonomics are more comfortable than any of the pure sport bikes and 2-up wouldn't be any worse than any of those either. I'm still going to keep my eye out for them in a couple of years when I can get a used one for a little less as I would also like to get the "s" model.
Yeah, I've been driving a lot more than I probably should lately, but not now with all the snow and ice out there. I've still been real careful with the brakes and accelerating too quickly. I've gotten used to using the rear brake easily with just a little front as needed for most stops to keep the chassis as balanced as possible. Still, too much snow and crap still out there right now.
I was under the impression that they modified and recovered your existing seat. I just looked, and they do sell complete new seats, but only for a few Kawasaki models (not mine). I would have to either just get a new seat cover or send them mine to customize. I could buy an extra off ebay, but that's just additional time and expense for something I'm not sure is worth the cost.
Thanks!! I got the bike from a car dealership, so that was the only size they had. It had a bunch of stickers on it when I got it, but otherwise in great condition and a got them down to a pretty good price. After I removed most of the stickers, it was the exact bike I was looking for. My brother lives in Mansfield, so maybe after this snowstorm blows through, I can get him to meet me for a ride and pick something in that corner of the state.
