  1. How do you keep them from getting pulled out when you put your helmet on? I don't know if I'm missing something, or maybe none of my earbuds I've tried are small enough, but when I pull the helmet over my ears, it just yanks them out.
  2. I'll have to keep this in mind, I may take you up on this.
  3. I was surprised the bag on the mirror wasn't blowing around more.
  4. I saw several bikes out this weekend. I would say 75% of them were not wearing a helmet and probably 30-40% were only in a t-shirt.
  5. I've ridden to work every day that I've went in this week. I've been sick much of the week though, including today.
  6. My wife is interested. When would you be available for us to pick it up? We could run down tonight after work.
  7. That's a great idea! This would be an awesome Mythbusters episode, and may even bring more insight into the situation.
  8. So does my Lexus, if you hold it in it will still shut it off. Still, should have been able to shift into neutral, which would have been the best thing as it makes sure to maintain all power equipment.
  9. Alright here's the new one. This should be relatively easy and shouldn't need any hints.
  10. I found a spot I was going to stop when I was out on Saturday, but it was a little colder than expected once I got going so I went straight to where I was going. A couple other places I thought about tagging since I've been out before that were still covered in snow and wouldn't be recognizable, though I guess that would have added to the challenge.
  11. yeah, you're probably right. Looking again, the damage is localized around the damaged valve. Valve float would be a valid explanation.
  12. Same here. I was also a little worried about going into a corner too hot and finding standing water or something in it, so I rode pretty conservatively. I did commute to work this morning though. The new heated gear worked great! I shouldn't need it this afternoon.
  13. looks like some pretty bad detonation going on in that cylinder. The other cylinders seem to be fine, so either that one wasn't getting enough fuel for some reason or it was getting more intake air than the others. Was there any pitting in the cylinder opposite it? If so, it could be something with the intake feeding too much air to those rear cylinders. I'm guessing the tune was pushing the envelope already, and something caused that one to go over the edge.
  14. http://www.motorcyclecloseouts.com/ Another place to look for deals, look in their "Hot Deals" section. I got the same Shift leather jacket I was looking at at Iron Pony for half the price. I was able to get a textile and leather for under $300. New Enough had some great deals on Sidi boots, but I think most of the sizes are sold out now. Basically look around, and you should be able to get good deals on whatever you need. Try to find somewhere like Iron Pony to try them on first, and they may even be on sale there when you go.
  15. haha... I guess since I've always just used the logo, I never noticed that there, or just assumed it went somewhere else.
  16. After freezing my hands off yesterday, I said I came to the conclusion I needed some heated gear. My riding today consisted of driving to the Iron Pony and back. I picked up a Gerbing heated jacket liner, gloves, and dual controller. I came home and wired them up, so I'm good to go. I'm going to ride it to work tomorrow morning now.
  17. I like it how it is. I usually use the front page to quickly check out the new posts. If that link doesn't go there, there would need to be another link added because I don't think there is another one that goes to the front page.
  18. What do you want him to do to the patients with a razor blade?
  19. Yeah, that was my conclusion from yesterday. I road about 1.5 hours up to my brother's house to visit around noon, and then back about 5pm. So, I rode about 3 hours total. Everything did well but my fingers, which were pretty much frozen halfway into both trips. I was trying some glove liners that held hand warmers in them, but didn't help enough and makes my hands a little bulky.
  20. This model does have the potential for problems with second gear, but my guess is that you just aren't going fast enough.
  21. I rode a little yesterday. It's calling for high 40's and partly sunny for the weekend on my phone. I check it several times a day, expecting it to change to snow. If it does get there, though, I'll definitely get out. It will be balmy compared to the last several rides I've had.
