  1. I found out about a young child named Nathan Norman. He wants to be a police officer when he grows. But sadly he is terminally ill and his doctors don't think he will make it through the holidays. His request was to get Christmas cards from as many law enforcement officers as he can. Message me if you are willing to send him a card and I'll give you his address. I can get some more info at work tonight if you guys want it. This is for real so please keep any rude or out of line comments to yourself. This kid and his family have it tough enough. I would be very upset if his family came across this thread and there was something immature posted.
  2. That did not live up to the hype. No rep for you.
  3. First I missed the boobs so as Shawn said link plz. I know there are several threads about drinking between max power and midget Todd and no one has had issues with those. I also recall a funny post by Inyazz about doing a chick from behind while getting his balls groped by a toddler. Everyone found that funny. As it was mentioned she isn't arguing and being a douche like the people mentioned in the original post. She just acts like a lot of the dudes on here and most guys find that fun. It seems that those against her have an issue with her not acting like "the other girls".
  4. Thanks guys. From the looks of it his knee touches, just the tip, and it scares him so he pulls it up. Then he gets cocky and slams it back down and it drags more than he expected. It starts to drag him off the bike causing it to counter steer right and go hard left. Right to the bush. It seems the whole reason for the camera pointed at his left leg was to show him getting his knee down. Lesson learned.
  5. I had an 02 grandprix gtp that had a little bit of a custom exhaust mod. It would back fire. Especially after I wrecked it and it ripped the exhaust off. Regardless of it it was the car back firing it would be based on what the cops perceived. Also the suspects used their car as a deadly weapon so no need for a gun.
  6. The surefires are nice. I use them a lot on the bike.
  7. Wow your a smart one you've figured out what a throw down gun is.
  8. I got a set from caldwell pretty cheap from a site similar to woot but for guns. I love them. mine have a lower profile so they don't get in the way like a lot do when shooting rifles. Like stated above they cancel loud noises but can be used to pick up quieter noises. I took mine to firearms quals about a week ago and I could hear the other guys reloading their m4 magazines with them on. The only issue I've noticed is they can get kind of noisy if there is a head wind and you have the microphone turned on. I just turn them around backwards and that fixes it.
  9. Yes they do but ammo costs a lot of money and people are always trying to cut police and fire budgets.
  10. So how long until they can go after you if you throw a party and your buddy gets shit faced? I'm suing kawasaki and Honda for my bikes being so fast.
  11. It's hard to tell without being there but when shit hits the fan communication and comprehension go out the window. It's a lot different listening to what's being put out on the radio while crazy stuff is happening as opposed to sitting in an office after the fact sipping coffee. Think about when you first hear a song on the radio you don't know all the words the first time. They may not have heard the officer say it was a red pop can. Also how would you know they didn't have the gun in another hand? Would you bet your life on it? Clapping is a lot slower than firing a weapon especially while panicked. Think about how many times you can tap your finger on a desk compared to how many times you can clap. There's less movement involved with using a trigger. Most guns lock to the rear after the last shot. You save time by using your thumb on the slide release as opposed to using your hand to rack the slide. That's why training is about repetition. In a high stress situation your body uses muscle memory and you don't think about what your doing you just react. There are a lot of reports where police involved in shootings initially report they fired less than 5 rounds but in reality they reloaded twice. They honestly don't realize they shot that many times.
  12. The cash part should have no basis in it these companies have insurance for crap like this. Their computer system/register track the money that is in the drawers so they can prove that. Which is why most stores say to just give the robber what they want. Now the man being forced into a back room would give him reason to believe the other guy intended on harming his boss. If he did nothing to help 1. He'd have to live with it the rest of his life. 2. The company would probably ask him why he didn't use his training to help further adding to his conscience. I think its bullshit that they'd fire him over it but the people that make these decisions don't live in the real world. They live in a scewed reality that all people are good and guns are bad.
  13. If you hold a gun outside of the car window while driving and shoot it it would be difficult to get the casings back inside the car. It's not hard to throw a gun out the window and it not be noticed. You can also use your vehicle as a deadly weapon.
  14. The case that this will look towards as far as a fleeing subject is Tennessee vs. Garner most likely. This case sets the guidelines for using deadly force on a fleeing subject. What it boils down to is the subject would need to present an immediate threat of death or serious bodily harm towards another person. If they've shot a gun or the officers have reason to believe had shot at officers then that would pose an immediate threat. It was mentioned that an officer put it on the radio that they had fired a gun. It was also hinted at on the article that they used the car to ram other cars. Also an immediate threat to others. Also if they hadn't done anything wrong why would they run? The case of Graham vs. Commerce will also be used. It comes down to the decision of justifying a use of force situation must be based on the totality of the circumstances of what the officer perceived at that exact moment in time. It must be looked at from the officers point of view and everything that he used to make the decision to use the level of force he used. It can't be broken down to there turned out not to be a gun in the car when it was done. The gun could have been thrown from the vehicle. Even if there wasn't a gun every other person listening to the radio heard the officer say there was a gun and shots were being fired. All the officers present believed there was a gun so their actions were based on that. The only one who should be held liable if there was no gun is the officer who reported the gun over the radio. Hopefully he can articulate why he thought he saw a gun if there wasn't one. Now I'm not a lawyer (disclaimer) and I may be a little biased by not being a criminal but I think that they will be cleared. It's already clear that this is going to get a racial spin on it. As if the 13 officers involved got together and said let's shoot some people based on their race tonight. Race had nothing to do with it. It doesn't matter what race you are if you fire a gun in the presence of police they will shoot back. The problem for these officers is how strict policies are on shootings. Basically they've got to be 120% sure that there is zero possibility that their round will hit anything other than the intended target and there is nothing inline of the shot in the fore or background of the target that would be at risk. 100+ rounds that's going to be hard to account for all that they shot.
  15. The world around us keeps getting more and more violent but we as a nation are getting weaker and weaker.
  16. Sad thing is it probably won't. I worked with a guy when I worked for the state who saved his neighbors kid from a fire. He had wanted to be a firefighter but he couldn't get hired on for whatever reason although he had no problem with the physical test. Basically affirmative action was kicking his butt. One night he heard his "pill head neighbor" screaming. He went outside saw her house was on fire. She was screaming that her baby was inside. He ran in in his gym shorts and t-shirt while the place was burning and got the kid out. He got some kind of reward from the Columbus fire department and they honored him at some dinner. He met a lot of hire ups with the fire department and fire marshals and he asked if they could help get him hired on. They all said yes took his number and shook his hand. He never heard back from them and is still working as a corrections officer.
  17. I had a couple of buddies buy from there. One was a 636 and the other an fz6. They ran fine but needed a little work. Both of them had to pay a little after buying them to make them road worthy. Like the fz6 didn't have foot pegs and needed a windshield and some other minor stuff. He fixed it using a lot of cheap stuff off ebay but even doing that he was pretty much at the cost of retail and the bike still had a dented tank and a lot of scratches. Also the subframe was off of a different bike. He didn't realize that until I pointed it out. Not really an issue to be concerned with as far as riding. but all parts that aren't original on a salvage bike need to be documented as to where they came from. He had no proof that it wasn't a stolen part. But the salvage inspector didn't notice it so it was a non issue. In the end my buddy realized he could have paid pretty much the same and had a clean title bike without any of the headache. My other friend did all kinds of extras like aftermarket exhaust and a custom paint job. He spent well over retail on his when it was said and done but he didn't care that he had a bike with a salvage title so he was happy.
  18. I had a set of these that I gave to my wifes cousin after I traded in my cbr for a cruiser. I probably would have bought these from you but he bought a roadking and gave them back. These bags are awesome if you like going on long rides gives you a place to pack clothes tennis shoes and a lunch. If you and your girl friend like going out to eat and taking the bike these are great because if you have left overs you can throw them in there. With just a couple of buckles and snaps these come right off so you can take them inside with you. I love the set I have.
  19. Don't say he's a pit he's a boxer mastiff mix.
  20. The little shits or the noise maker?
  21. Time for a counter steering thread? Go to YouTube and watch the cornering bible series. Kinda cheesy but lots of good advice. Then buy the book its called twist of the wrist 2 and READ it. Then do a track day. You don't need to stick your knee out. Also have you seen how tiny most pro racers are? Sport bikes aren't built for guys like me at 6' 200lbs.

    wrecked bike

Pretty cool write up but this requested video would be epic especially of we could get exarchs reaction to the video filmed also.
  23. First glad your ok! Second maybe you should rethink this thread http://www.ohioriders.net/showthread.php?t=100570 And pull the trigger and upgrade to the 10.
