It's a workcation. Not unhappy or ungrateful, I don't value most man made things is all. Its all the same in many places. All the buildings and crowding is really sad. No wildlife to speak of. It's all designed to entice and empty your pockets, why people like it, I don't know.

It's the land of excess to be sure. We just sat outside one of the casinos and admired the crazy expensive cars pulling up. Those people live in a different world.

I amend my thinking on this. I've been driving all over the greater LA Metro area today. A few notes:

Cali riders wear gear. Nearly every one I saw.

Lane splitting is bad-ass and absolutely cuts down on traffic.

Loud pipes do save lives. Being an ohio driver and not expecting the occasional lane splitter, I really appreciated hearing them come before I saw them....generally sport bikes with aftermarket pipes.

Avis gave me a powder blue beetle. I looked gay.

Spent a long weekend in Nice back in college. Rented scooters and rode up the mountain to Monaco. Really beautiful ride. Came back down the mountain, went to some Monet museum, some asshole stole my helmet, bought a bottle of vodka, drank it all, beat up some French guy, puked in the bidet, passed out on the bathroom floor. I don't remember a minute of it from purchase of said vodka bottle to awakening covered in blood, vomit, and urine.

That being said, there were tons of boobs on the beach. But also man-thongs (crotch not feet). Enjoy!

Agree. Unfortunately, this is the mindset now. Ten years ago, benefits were offered to entice workers. Now, the trend is to comply with minimum regulatory standards.

Pick up a cruiser! Gives you a more relaxing release. It was really my kids who got me off of the adrenalin high of the go-fast. Getting home after each ride thinking "glad I'm still alive after that one" started to wear on me.

Best fish I've ever eaten, and I eat out quite a bit on both coasts.... Cameron Mitchell's "M" had a seared Tuna block served rare with a port wine reduction. Absolutely melted in the mouth. Yum.

Speaking of biking dentists.... When I was a kid, we could ride our bikes with a t-shirt, sweatshirt, winter coats, etc.... Is there a new law requiring adult bicyclists to wear poorly-fitting skin-tight spandex shirts with a number on the back?

I drive a significant amount for my job. I see people border on attempted murder when there's traffic and someone tries to pass on the shoulder, go around cars waiting to get over when a lane ends, etc.... Not the same, I know.... But the "if I can't, you can't" mentality is strong in ohio. I won't outwardly oppose, but I won't aggressively support.

What is the obsession with "yuppies"? Young Urban Professional. First....a 60 year old woman is not a yuppy. Second....if one makes good life choices and gets to a point where they can afford something they value, who are we to judge? My wife drives a BMW. Did Yuppy Claus drop it down my chimney? No, I made good choices in life and found myself in a position where the choice to go BMW instead of Chevy Equinox made sense to the family.

And the rioters are not? They are at least fourth generation of poverty. I call it Generational Institutionalized Poverty.  GIP. There is no one left in the hood that has the slightest idea what working hard and/or getting educated means. You look at them and tell them they need to succeed they have no f'ing idea what that means. Their parents don't know, their grandparents don't know...it's too many generations removed from them. They have never seen it, they don't know anyone that has ever seen it either.

Not dumb at all. Depends on the show, but most prohibit it. I know, it sounds self-contradictory, but it's to prevent accidental discharges while handling so many guns in a densely populated space.

Picture the booth with the stash of swastika-laden knives and hats selling the "we will take our business elsewhere" cards meant for those establishments whom wrongfully prohibit carry.
