  1. I travel most days for work....whether by air or by road. Ironically, as much as people like to rip on the Harleys that travel from bar to bar on bike night, I only see HD, BMW, and Goldwings on the road when it isn't Goldilocks weather outside.

  2. We are absolutely on a slippery constitutional slope. I'm 100% for gay marriage. I'm as atheist as they come and I believe that anyone can live any other consenting adult. Period. But when the government mandates that a private citizen engage in a religious activity of another (read wedding photographer), they are crossing that religious freedom line. That being said, if you are a close-minded biggot, don't do weddings.

  3. I won the game of air travel today. First time ever, I think. Meeting today in Maine, meeting tomorrow in Boston, so I'm staying in Manchester. Was to fly into NH and then drive 1.5-2 hours north to Portland. First leg of flight from Columbus to Manchester lands me in Baltimore. As I exit the plane, I see a gate with a flight to Portland leaving at the same time as my flight to New Hampshire. I go up and ask about a change and it's a go with no charge. I was able to change flights for free and save 2 hours of freeway hell. As I board the plane to Portland, I get a call from SW that my original flight to Manchester has been delayed by 2 hours. I win.

  4. If someone were to be getting chewed out multiple times, would it be "Chewings out" or "Chewing outs"?

Or should I just say "Multiple Ass Chewings"?

I'd go with the hyphen and put the s after out. "I done just got the last of my chewing-outs from that thar prick".

Or "I say old chap, I've seen the last of multiple ass-chewings.".

  5. What are the steps involved in order? Do I have to have my stamp to purchase the item? Pay for the item, but have stamp at time of delivery? I'm starting to consider some options, but I'm starting at zero with this.

  6. I've had two responses from Armslist telling me what I have. Not d-bag responses, but genuinely helpful. Both said that it is likely a Spanish Mauser. Apparently Steyr produced them for several countries' militaries in the early 1900s. Conversions to .308 were common after WWII. It would seem that I'm priced about right according to these two.

  7. Edit: sold pending funds as of 2:30 PM. Sorry. Went faster than I thought.

It's beat-up, but it shoots. Asking $200 or trade for guns (I shutter at the thought of the offers I'll receive) or ammo.

    From my Armslist Post:

Honestly, I don't know what it is. Here is what I do know.... It was sold to me as a Mauser in .308 about 10 years ago. I put a box of modern .308 through it and it was silky smooth and accurate. I replaced the sight with a Mojo peep sight. No don't have the original. Markings on the action say "Waffenfabrik Steyr Austria". On the top, it reads "Modelo 1912-61 NATO". Barrel is stamped "M12 .308". The stock is dinged and dented. Looks like there might have been a cleaning rod up front, but isn't there now. The action is slick as can be, the barrel is clean, and it shoots like a champ. Great for a throw around camp gun. I used it as a back-up at Michigan deer camp a few years ago, but the weather was great, so it never left the cabin. This isn't a flip, it's a safe clean-out. Buyer must be elligible to purchase a rifle in Ohio. FTF only. I'd rather not drive too far for this one.

  8. You should be very thankful that Obama won the election.Republicans love to send other people's kids to war and put the bill on the tab.

There's an easy fix for this thinking...when boots go on the ground the draft is immediately enacted,no deferments, and a tax is enacted to pay for the deployment.

Sometimes I don't like your posts because they actually make some sense. This was just dumb.
