  1. Got it. I miss these things when I come home and just quickly skim the front page.
  2. Got a tornado break at work tonight. Didn't look like anything actually happened though. Was worried about the 3.3lb box with $200 worth of Honda parts sitting on my porch at home, but it didn't even seem to get wet.
  3. Unfortunately the "Big 4" don't give a about the AMA anymore. I assume this is sarcasm considering the 250cc handicap...

    Neon Lights

Be sure to rev it while stopped at traffic lights so no one rear-ends you because they didn't hear you. I think StreetGlow gives away lots of product, because every other POS I see with neons has a 36" sticker in the back window.
  5. You can find my bitching about TW internet on here awhile back. I had standard service and was having major problems when trying to play xBox online, confirmed by ridiculous speed test results. They gave me a free upgrade to Turbo for 6 months to see if that would fix the problem, and it had no effect initially. They sent a tech to verify everything was OK. I chalked it up to being unlucky with where I live and forgot about it. Eventually I stopped having problems, but unfortunately I think I pay for the Turbo service now. I really don't want to know what it actually costs me. Standard should be fine for my purposes but I don't want to mess with something that is working. I figure the problem was bandwidth related, although nobody from TW would acknowledge that, and I honestly don't know too much about how this stuff works these days. I assume they made improvements to either their infrastructure or load balancing in the area and that is why it is OK now. Friends with TW in other areas have had no problems. EDIT: My bill shows an extra 9.95 for the Turbo upgrade. I have no idea what the base cost is as it's a bundle with the cable.
  6. Postponed due to weather. Look for updates at www.briarcliffmx.com
  7. Way back when in Cuyahoga I walked in on my third or fourth try. This was before online registration, which I heard made for a ton more no-shows (easier to register online and forget about it that go through the effort of camping out at the location to be one of the first 120 in line).
  8. In high school a friend had a bunch of vinyl wraps for this purpose. At a glance looked like a major brand of pop but had misspellings (probably for copyright) and other entertaining quirks.
  9. My opinion, that may differ from others and may be worth less: I have no-cuts on my 07 600rr. They could definitely save some valuable plastic street bits in a stationary or low speed fall. My bike free-fell from nearly vertical in my garage and the handlebar didn't even hit the ground, it was propped up between the slider and the Vortex (solid mount) peg. Although I have no issues with cutting my race plastics, I still choose the no-cuts, because I don't think putting the bending moment on an extra-long motor mount bolt is a good idea, as Brian alluded to. I have heard of no-cuts cracking engine cases, but it's sort of model-specific depending on the strength of the area behind the slider location (unfortunately for Cooter I seem to recall this being a problem on one of the generations of 1000rr). As far as flipping the bike in the grass, it is definitely possible, but I think it would be a fine line between generating enough moment to make a difference and the chinese aluminum these things are made of breaking free. I went down in soft grass with the bike neither flipping nor the slider breaking off, although the stock peg did significantly influence the course of the bike before it broke off. Even if the slider does break off, hopefully it has absorbed a significant amount of an initial on-track impact in the process, and not directed a more signifcant amount into the engine case behind it. If something happens to make me eat my words, I'll be sure to update you guys. In the meantime I have two sets of these in my basement for spares, and one will be going on my streetbike when I get it back together.
  10. No . Woke up sweating Thursday night, Came home from work on Friday and flipped the switch from "heat" to "cool." Thought, "so much for spring." Woke up cold this morning. Came home from work and flipped the switch from "cool" to "heat." Haven't opened the windows yet this year. This too. Would had planned differently had I known those thunderstorms that were supposed to start 6p Friday and go through the weekend weren't going to start until 9p Saturday.
  11. I was, but there is no T&T this Friday as it is some sort of Mopar superfreak weekend.
  12. Word. I don't know what prompted this thread but I hope no one ends up getting scraped off the pavement trying to answer a call-out...

  15. It's legit dude. They don't "sell for parts" they recycle the precious metals. Cars like CRVs get hit the most because they're high enough to make it easy.
  16. I put a laser pointer on a camera tripod for drilling holes in race bodywork. I learned this trick from somebody's slider install writeup.
  17. I don't care either, was trying to help you out. I just clicked your link to see the price, and wondered if that was just the going rate this year, since last year those could be found for $160-180 shipped. First and only place I looked was not that good, but cheaper.
  18. They are $20 less shipped from Jake Wilson.
  19. That makes it tougher but there is still a chance. I guess it depends on whether or not it's worth the gas money when you might end up just hanging out. No idea where North Baltimore is... I see at least 3 guys in this thread with 03-06 600rrs - just get there early and steal one of theirs before they wake up.
  20. You should get the bike in the truck and go. It's already fucked up and you paid $150, somebody might have a peg that will fit.
  21. I'm not a Yamaha guy, but it looks like you just need the self-locking nut on the outside, which is #4 in the service manual figure and #29 on the Pony parts fiche. If it is actually missing, you may also need the "engine adjust bolt," #8 in the manual and #30 on the PPF. From the pics it looks like it may be in there though, and just doesn't thread all the way through the frame. If this is missing it didn't just fall out, someone forgot to put it back when the engine was removed. Now that I re-read that sounds like what you ordered. If the bolt doesn't wiggle up and down put yer nut on and torque to 33 ft-lbs.
  22. This is 100% normal. Gear dogs need to line up.
  23. I buy HJCs off eBay. Haters gon hate... Fit is most important though, go someplace you can try stuff on and see what works for you. Shape varies between brands, and even models (at least in the case of Arai), and people have different shape heads.
  24. I clean my (painted black) wheels with WD40. Actually I clean pretty much everything metal with WD40. WD40 is great for cleaning stuff, and that's about all it's good for.
  25. I'm interested in this too. Unfortunately, I bet if you asked most racers this question their answer would be, "Huh?" My supplemental accident policy does not cover actual racing. So add that to my excuse list.
