  1. According to the Garmin in my truck my max speed was 294mph. I don't remember doing that - I musta been really drunk.
  2. It probably won't physically hurt the motor, but it probably hurts performance due to the disruption in flow.
  3. You're saying someone actually removed the perforated tube and packing from a straight-thru muffler, so it is now a hollow, empty can? That is the dumbest thing I ever heard, and it has to sound like ass...

  5. Dude, I hardly ever use this "rep" thing, and it says, "You must spread some reputation around before giving it to Jbot again." I guess that means you're a multi-time winner!
  6. Hmmm... since everything else I own is pretty much for sale, I will offer you my 2000 CR125R for $1400 firm. New piston, clutch, ASV levers, fork oil/bushings/seals, shock oil/nitrogen last spring, ridden twice since. P.S. Not gonna deny it LBTS, but it's well maintained and good to go.

    Do want!

This got the wheels turning in my head for a bit, did some Googling, but in the end I have to agree with this guy: Quote from http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showpost.php?p=12548115&postcount=17
  8. I respectfully disagree. If I wanted to be a prick, I would take points off for you cluttering the thing up with unnecessary parentheses while showing a lack of understanding of the standard order of operations.
  9. Those exponents are not divided in the standrad PEMDAS order of operations. You the student or the teacher?
  10. That was completely unacceptable. I demand a credit for the outage on my next bill.
  11. They'l probably pass tech as long as they significantly cover your ankle - you see the occasional guy in work boots - but as others have mentioned, less than ideal.
  12. Ahh, that's not what I had in mind. I wouldn't call that a failure to extract or eject, that's just a failure to open. Really couldn't tell you if that's a defect or something that will break in. When mine was new it was really tight and hard to rack smoothly unless you were seriously deliberate about it. There was also a build up effect, probably of debris from coatings and whatnot of parts bedding in. These days it's beautiful, and I did go most of the summer without cleaning it with no ill effect.
  13. Fail to extract or fail to eject? Are you stroking it like a man? Sometimes if I open the gun lazily I need to stick my finger in there and pull the spent case out of the receiver. You ever clean the thing?
  14. The bike has a stock electronic steering damper. The Scotts will not fit unless you cut the tank cover and the key. I would not do this to the stock stuff. That is "electrical binding tape." It is a vinyl tape like electrical tape, but leaves no residue and has an easy-tear serrated texture to it. By far the best stuff I have found for covering lights, taping wheel weights, etc. Found at Home Depot in the electrical tape section. Looks damn good on this particular bike too, since it matches the silver accents.
  15. I have exactly what you want and am looking to sell. Perhaps we could work out exactly what form you want it in. I offered it to some people as it came off the track last year for $4500. In track form it has some prototype Rockwall bodywork, Hotbodies windscreen, Yoyodyne/Motoholders fairing stay, Woodcraft clip-ons, Vortex rearsets, a Scotts/Ohlins steering damper on a custom mount, and some off-brand "no-cut" frame sliders and swingarm spools. My plan for spring is to put it back to 100% stock and sell for $5500. I wasn't really planning on starting this until the weather warms up though. If you want the bike in stock form at that price I'll throw in the race bodywork for free, we can talk about other items seperately. I also have a spare set of wheels with rotors, spare set of unmounted bodywork, spare set of Vortex rearsets, spare Hotbodies windscreen, two spare sets of frame sliders, and maybe some other stock and aftermarket spares laying around. The two prices above aren't really negotiable. The bike in stock form will be mint except for a fuel stain on the lower fairing that you can see in the second picture below. Any questions please ask, I'll be happy to answer them in the public forum in case anyone else might be interested. Adult ridden, never raced, only dropped three times.

    Exhaust

You can download a generic slip-on map to install for the time being, if that's the route you want to take.
  17. I was hoping this would be about this coming season...

  19. In my perpetual boredom, I dug up this stuff from 2006, it appears the website no longer exists (or DNS is messed up, because I get Google somehow).
  20. Sounds like some real winners. I hope they didn't end up as cops too. The camera work and posturing at the end is way too drama-quality. Why would the passenger walk around the back to film his buddy getting the bat out of the bed? How would those to end up side by side on the drivers' side of the truck, bat in hand still talking while the girl films them from the other side of the truck to get both them and the man with the gun in the picture after the initial confrontation? I don't see any of those four acting in the manner that they did in a real situation.
  21. From playing Scrabble with my grandmother as a child, I know that the correct phonetic spelling of the letter "H" is "aitch." They used to let me cheat and use the dictionary.
  22. I just called the folks at www.healthcompare.com, as they are somehow partnered with the company that was facilitating my COBRA coverage. I really couldn't even tell you off hand who I ended up with, I just went with whatever she recommended. All the options were confusing to me, and in lieu of doing a ton of research I chose to just listen to someone who makes a living dealing with this sort of stuff. I think 200+ options for medical come up when I go to that website myself.
  23. If they "pressurized the cabin" to the proper differential it doesn't matter if it was on the ground or in outer space, 15 psi is 15psi. I think you'd have to make a damn big hole for this to be a factor. Aircraft fuselage has redundant structure and other engineered damage tolerance.
