  1. i know that. i was just saying i cant believe the mom had to call the police to control her 9 year old kid for her, its outrageous

I've responded to an "out of control kindergartener". I didn't tase him though. Instead, I chose to punch the little fuck in the mouth. Then I turned to mom and said you won't be needing us anymore! (Maybe that is how it went in my mind...it's a little fuzzy). However, I did arrest a 10 year old on Saturday night after he tried to stab his cousin for breaking his X-Box controller.

  2. Back in '97 I worked in Nerk and lived in Columbus. I'd fill at the pilot on 37 and 70 for $.89/gallon. That wasn't THAT long ago.

I don't remember gas being that cheap in '97, but I also had a company car and gas card, so, I really didn't pay ANY attention to the price of gas at the time.

  3. Ive seen some of you people on here, im sure some of you remember cars not capable of 55mph. Ahh the "when i was ur age stories", gotta lovem. My mom has a picture of my dad posting a gas price of 1.15/gallon with a line of cars, think that was like 20-30years ago

When I had my moped ('86), I was 14 and paying $.75/gal. I couldn't believe gas went up to $1.00/gal soon after that.:D

  4. To add to this, I am planning on replacing my clutch before the Deals Gap trip in June. I was at Iron Pony this morning and priced new (OEM) steels and plates. The counter guy I talked to suggested that I look at aftermarket because my "bike takes 8 steels, and there are only 9 left in the world." Obviously, I don't buy that but, it isn't unreasonable either. The manufacturers obligation to produce replacement parts for my bike has long since expired on my almost 20 year old bike.

My question is, how many people run aftermarket clutch parts, and do they perform acceptably?

  5. Any body shop will do it.... If you dont mind the drive I highly suggest Forgrave Autobody in Newark

Bruce Forgrave was my paint tech when I worked in the body shop and the one that got me into Akzo Nobel. He later became my boss there. I have personally had collision work done by him in his current shop, and it was excellent! If you don't mind the drive, he would be an excellent choice!

  6. You must have misunderstood me? I meant no disrespect toward your input you have more welding experience then me. Was just stating that i only weld a few times a year. And I work for them not weld for them LOL I just make the stuff not know how to use it. Bad I know but have never had time to learn. I do plan on taking the welding school at work since it is free to us just hard to get into.

It's all good. I misunderstood what you were saying.

  7. I own an old stick welder generator but the few times I have used it, it worked.

I can only imagine that this is directed toward me. The title of the thread isn't Input from PROFESSIONAL mig welders. The title is Input from EXPERIENCED mig welders. I my not be a certified ship builder, but I was trained by one for 2 years, and now have 22+ years of experience. I kind of thought I was qualified to comment.

  8. Personally I think it was a lazy move to taze her' date=' she wasn't that far ahead

of him, he could have caught her.[/quote']

I'm not trying to argue, but it is very easy to make a statement like this when your are "Arm chair Quarterbacking". Video give you an idea of what is taking place, but it never tells the story. Is the officer injured? Does he have an injury that could be made worse by tackling or struggling with her? Drugs can make people incredibly strong and able to disregard pain to the point that it would take a true "beat down" to subdue her. Then, if she dies from a pre-existing medical condition, and the "beating" is on video, everyone would be crying "Police Brutality". Sometimes people die, and it is unfortunate. However, if you don't want to run that risk, don't commit the crime!

  9. shouldnt he have used those zip cuff then?

We don't cary those on the street. We only use them for tactical situations like riots or situations where there will be mass arrests.

A taser should never be used to subdue a suspect or achieve compliance with an order. Tasers are supposed to be a less lethal means of defending an officer from a potentially threatening situation, like a person running toward them wielding a knife, or a 300 lbs suspect charging a 130 lbs officer.

This lady had been cuffed, and presumably patted down for weapons she was running away, and as far as I can tell, not putting anyone in danger. They should have chased her instead of being lazy and using the taser.

You would NEVER use a taser when you have a person running toward you wielding a knife! The only time might be if you would have good cover and another officer with deadly force back up. Because the chance of hitting a moving target (especially one running at you) with a taser is slim to none. The margin of error is so great that if/when the taser fails, the officer is DEAD.

  10. A. Hopefully you weren't hurt/ injured in trying to catch the guy. B. I fucking hate theives with a passion  . There are reasons I sleep next to a gun every night. If you are willing to risk the consequences of breaking in to my house ,I am not willing risk how far you will go to get what you want.

I was fine, as well as the other officers.

whatever happened to due process, innocent until proven guilty? i'm not defending the woman, i'm defending our laws and constitution. how did she slip out of her cuffs? it seems to me that the cop did a poor job of detaining her and fell back on his crutch. its pretty disturbing to me to see everyone saying she deserved it. i opine that an arresting officer has a fiduciary responsibility, to the law and those he is sworn to protect, to bring in the accused with some level of respect no matter how disrespected in the process. just because he doesnt want to/cant run down a suspect would leave me suspect to the officers abilities.

oh well, whats done is done...we'll just carry on towards our police state. also, i'm not and never will be a police officer, just my thoughts on the matter.

    hate on....

You are correct, she is innocent in the eyes of the law, until proven guilty. However, the police are not "the law" they are law enforcement. So, while she is very much innocent until proven guilty in the eyes of the law, she is very much guilty in the eyes of the officers. If the officers didn't feel she was guilty, they could never justify arresting her and taking away her right to freedom.

As far as how did she slip her cuffs, cuffs don't fit everyone. There are some females (or males for that matter) with wrists as small as a 12 year old, and cuffs are not made for them.

  11. Dumb bitch got what she deserved. (To avoid offending paully) if you do hard drugs I have no sympathy for you if you do dumb shit. I just hope that her family is having to pay for the life support if she is on it.

Unfortuneately, when officers take someone into custody and they require medical treatment, the department that is in custody of the person is responsible for their medical bills if they don't have insurance. I can't talk much about it because it is still an ongoing case, but last summer I arrested a man who had just committed a home invasion, attempted to kidnap the home owner, and then stole his car. I had a use of force on him because he was grabbing for his weapon (which it turns out had fallen out), and he ended up in the hospital for a couple of weeks. He was in the hospital for so long because he had a blood disorder that he contracted in 1997 when he jumped in the river in Youngstown after running from their police department. He ended up getting a bone marrow transplant on our department. It's BULLSHIT, but that is how it goes.

  12. I recently bought a new helmet and after riding with it, i feel like its more of a back-up helmet. At least the woman likes it. Anyway im looking to pick up another helmet for under $100. Im a fan of scorpion and hjc but im not opposed to others.

I bought my Scorpion EXO 1000 from sportbiketrackgear.com as a style close out for $100. They always have something on clearance.
