  1. At least ten of the 15 topics currently on the "front page" have nothing to do with motorcycles. This is a social arena, with motorcycles being a common thread. Guns, bottle openers, favorite beers, etc. I really wasn't trying to be an ass toward BS in the thread, but see that it might come across that way. Not my intent. I just forgot the smiley faces.
  2. BS: I'm sure there are a lot of people on here hoping that you follow through. A LOT. On the other hand, who takes photos of their drinks set up at a bar? And how far do you expect a thread about pickle juice to go on its own? If it weren't for tangential thoughts and ribbing, this forum would be pretty bland. I'll remember in the future that you only want serious discussion, and to stay on topic, no matter what. Even if that topic is chasing a good shot with a dixie cup full of pickle juice. At some place with a dirty bar. In the middle of the afternoon. On a weekday.
  3. If you're drinking enough beer that you actually wear-out or break the bottle opener, the $7.99 to replace is is probably the least of your worries. BTW, I think the forged one doubles as a tire spoon...
  4. And next time, don't take a photo of the bartop with blow all over it...Just sayin'
  5. I'm just posting to raise my count, and to voice my objection to the Nickelback bashing. I've been to many concerts over the years, and this summer they put on one of the top three live shows that I've ever seen. "Hellooo Mr. Daniels!". Thats all. No flaming, its not that big of a deal. Don't waste your time nor keystrokes. You've got better things to do with your time. Do bars regularly carry bottles of pickle juice? Is there much demand for that sort of thing?
  6. Pretty much every major tool company is now "lifetime warranty" and most are less $$$ than Craftsman. I agree with the point about using tools to make a living vs. "recreationally". I don't use mine to pay my bills, so not really particular about whats in my drawer.
  7. Well, okay, not technically for the fridge, but for all of you high-nosed "I don't drink ANY beer that has a twist-off cap" snobs, this could be cool. They shoulda put some rubber grip or handle of some sort on it. Or a screwdriver handle. Could be much cooler. Overpriced for what it is, but maybe a good stocking stuffer. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00944500000P http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00944501000P?mv=rr
  8. Sold a car, so going to reward myself with a lift table, probably from Harbor Freight. I've got several of the 20% coupons, but am hoping for a better deal. I was hoping to cobble the ATV wing set onto the cheap $279 (sale price) lift, but think I am just going to spring for the $499 (regular price) table. I saw a post on here from late 2008 or 2009 that said they had 25% coupons on New Years day. Even that 5% would make a difference on a $678 purchase (holy crap. That looks awful). Pls let me know if you see any "deals" on the HF stuff, or any other alternative.
  9. I cringe whenever I see a child on a streetbike. If I had my kids out on the street, and something happened to them, I'd never forgive myself. Never. To each their own, though.

  11. Fixed. Thanks much. http://dayton.craigslist.org/mcy/2086853842.html
  12. Bump. Because I'm good enough, I'm smart enough, and doggone it, people like me! (at least until they get to know me...).

  14. Been thinking about an SV650 or SV1k. Bouncing around on the web, and found this. LOVE the headlight, and blacked-out frame 'n stuff. Will research for the tailsection as I never have a pillion. http://www.customfighters.com/forums/vbimghost.php?do=displayimg&imgid=9361

    Oops

I think the river bike incident was something like this: The rider was trying to cross what seemed like a shallow stream. When he got halfway across, a huge tidal wave/ surge came blasting down the stream. Twenty feet tall and moving at 450 mph. It was a result of the sudden ice melting upstream to the north. It swept rider and ride downstream for hundreds of miles, and this is how the bike came to rest. Shiny and clean on one side, sunk on the other. Prior to this photo, and the tidal wave thingie, this strip was a 45 foot tall ridge. Eroded by the flash flood. The End.
  16. <<I have a tiny, cramped 2 car garage and between my roommate and I there is usually 2-3 bikes, his SUV, my truck and until recently whatever car I had as a toy.<< I wanna see a photo of all of that in a two car garage... I need some pointers. Saving toward a big detached garage. For now, a rental storage unit is the answer, to clear out the seasonal stuff (mower, canopy, golf clubs, etc).
  17. Cleaned up the garage, and wouldn't feel so bad about putting one of the HF lifts in there now. Tried getting two smaller cars in at the same time, and cursed the @#$@% builder (again). Can fit a 2007 Camry and the Mazda 3 in there together, but its tight (yep, seriously. And sadly). Unless I take out the workbench, and that ain't gonna happen. I see many years of working on ATV's and bikes, and will probably end up with one of the HF lift tables. Problem: Only the most expensive one is designed to accomodate their wings set (takes it from 24' to 48' wide, for ATV and mowers). The extra width is pretty much a must-do if I'm gonna do this. Looking at the PDF manuals for each one, it looks like I could rig the cheapest table (the one thats always on sale) to work with the wings with four U-clamps to hold the poles/ bars of the wings. Would also use a bar down low to widen the base when using the wings. Any thoughts? I'm aware of the chronic coupons from HF. http://www.harborfreight.com/1000-lb-capacity-motorcycle-lift-91764.html http://www.harborfreight.com/motorcycle-lift-extension-wings-94830.html http://www.harborfreight.com/1200-lb-capacity-air-motorcycle-lift-94813.html
  18. Okay, too lazy to google this, and Ben needs something to do, so here it is: Would like to get all of my music onto a micro SD card for my X. Currently using a realllly old Creative Zen Vision M (what? Six years old, or more.... great machine) 30gb player. Its been great, but I'd like to have everything in one place, just for convenience. I've loaded some tunes onto my Droid with its 8gb micro SD card, and am half-heartedly looking for a 32gb card to replace that one. Of the music I've already loaded onto the X, not all of it ended up in the same place. I like PowerAmp for playing the music, the EQ, etc, but want it to have access to all the songs. For instance, there are four Nickelback discs in the library when I use the default/ preloaded music player, but when I use PowerAmp, it only finds three of them. On another, semi-related note, when I xferred the tunes to the X, some of them say "license expired" or needs to be renewed, even though I burned them from actual CD's which I own. When it tries to link to the net to "update the user license", the link is MIA. Any thoughts? Oh, BTW, I am NOT a computer guy. TIA Jeff
  19. Welcome. Proofread your stuff, or correct it, else you'll get slapped-daownnnnnn.
  20. I ran into the same thing the other night. Was sitting on the couch about 10pm and heard an odd boom from somewhere behind me. Figured it was a paint can exploding in the garage or something. Didn't feel like cleaning it up (and worried about the white car in there for a moment), so figured I'd deal with it later. Turns out that it was a can of Dr Pepper in the mini fridge out in the garage. Had frozen and blown the top completely off. Not through the little drinking hole. The whole top blew out around the wrapped seam at the top of the can. Pretty cool. Unplugged the fridge. Oh, and brought all aerosols and waxes inside....
  21. I like. My other C3 tools have held up very well. Great system. Found the batteries on sale a few months ago, and grabbed a couple. First ones lasted about nine years, including a house remodel. Good stuff. Thanks Ben.
  22. Appropriate choice for a company name, it sounds like...
  23. I only travel (read: "fly") once or twice a year, so I guess that makes me an "idiot". Interesting. Whatever. Anyhoo, flew last week, and returned this week, with my family. No problems, but they didn't try to grope any of us. Metal detectors at CVG and DFW. It amazes me that TSA needs to molest small children in order to prevent terrorism. Israel does it right (terrorism abatement, not child molestation...). I don't understand how those parents stand by and let the TSA agents strip their small, screaming, freaked-out children. I'd be in jail, or driving. I was prepared for the worst, but it was no big deal. But coulda been. Too much government. Too much control. Too little common sense. I fully support profiling. Its cliche, but the attacks thus far, worldwide, haven't been made by midwestern gramma's nor four-year-old children. Profile. Can you SERIOUSLY tell me that you're just as comfortable with a person who appears to be of Mideastern origin on your plane as you are if there's not? Ditto, but a group of them? Are you REALLY not looking around at the other passengers, trying to figure out who will help you if something turns sinister at 36k feet? If you say "yes", I'm calling you out as a dumbass. Period.
  24. Okay, just caught a blurb on this on Communist News Network, but it said he got $1.5m in chips. Correct me if I'm wrong, but won't those be pretty much worthless?
