  1. Just for fun, sit down and add up all of your taxes one day. Payroll, SS, Fica, etc. Property tax. Sales tax. All of those deceptive little charges on your phone bills (universal connectivity charge, so the less fortunate can have phones, paid for by YOU). License plates/ renewals. If you're one of the few who actually pays taxes (i.e. doesn't get them all back at the end of the year, or a large portion of them), odds are that you're paying north of 35%- 40% of your income. THEN tell me that you're not taxed enough. Wouldn't you like to spend some of that yourself? And shouldn't you? If you really feel that you're still not paying enough taxes, please pay some of mine each quarter. Throw me a PM, we'll work it out. If you're forunate enough to have a good salary job with good benefits, you probably have noooo idea how much your employer really invests in you, and (depending on the company) how much they sacrifice to make it happen. Take a ride on I-75 between I-70 on the north and Cincinnati on the south. Look at the chronic construction going on (for yearssssss) and the people standing around, and tell me that thats something you're okay paying for. Nice roads? Yep, because they're in a constant state of tear-it-up and lay-it-down (Ratt rocks, BTW). Over. And over. And over. Does it REALLY not piss you off, the way they waste OUR money? I realize that an infrastructure needs to be supported, but the federal government is using our own money to enslave us, by holding out funding for state projects unless the state bows down to the Federales' wishes. Seat belt law came to being that way, didn't it? And aren't they now trying to make a 50-state helmet law for riders, using the same tactic? The founders didn't intend this. States were supposed to be separate entities, which would attract personality types based on their state government (some more liberal, some more conservative, some more libertarian, etc). To some degree, this happens (i.e. California will probably always be viewed as very liberal, and some midwest states not so much), with the officials elected by people seeking a certain type of governance. IMHO, Washington is too big, with too much power, and it needs to stop. If you want communism/ socialism, there are already plenty of countries available to you. And take Danny Glover and Sean Penn with you.
  2. Wealth envy. Classic. "You earned it, but I deserve some of it". I'm giving you "some of it" already. A couple of times. First, by giving you a job and a paycheck, and secondly by paying taxes at a higher rate than only one other civilized country. If people would put as much effort into working as they do into trying to find ways to take my money away from me, we'd both be better off.
  3. What kind of stuff will you be riding? Trails, mx track, what?
  4. Tim Cain at Yamaha of Troy in Dayton may be able to find something. Honda East in (Toledo??) always seems to have great deals. If you're willing to travel, try the huge Honda dealer in Chattanooga. Huge volume= big discounts.
  5. Strip it all down. Get the frame and swingarm powdercoated black. Send the forks off to have them reworked. Replace the rear shock. Get all the bodywork (incl tank) painted as blinding of a white as I can, and have the wheels powdercoated to an equally blinding orange (saw pics of a newer GSXR here on the site like this, and loved the simplicity of it). New top ends on both cylinders. On the other hand, I planned on doing all of this last winter, as well. And the winter before. Truth is, I was too lazy to take the battery out and put it on the charger. But this winter will be different. Seriously.
  6. This isn't mine, but figured I'd pass it along. Cheap alternative for someone whose wife/ girlfriend says they want to ride their own bike, but will more than likely give up after 2-3 rides. Save yourself some bank. http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/mcy/2089350314.html
  7. I'm surprised that the bike only did 2-3 sec better on the course than the car did. Love the bike, but impressed by the car.
  8. LOL As far as junk mail, dunno. Didn't sign up for anything. "Caveat Emptor", I guess.
  9. From a Droid app Via TheCouponsApp: (Forbes) - http://www.rewardsgold.com/mags/maxim/tf_survey_maxim_pg3.htm http://www.rewardsgold.com/mags/blbw/sg_bw_bloomberg_pg4.htm http://www.rewardsgold.com/mags/forbes_gd/sg_forbes_pg4gd.htm http://www.rewardsgold.com/mags/playboygd/tgs_playboy_pg4.htm http://www.rewardsgold.com/mags/barrons/sg_barrons_pg4gd.htm
  10. You really need to buy my titled YSR80. Really. Or someone does, anyhow. I'm just sayin'
  11. Blosser, thanks much. Will do it (or at least try). I appreciate it.
  12. Ansky, I appreciate that, but both of these require data packages, and I'm not sure that jives with phones for soldiers. All: Okay, I've hard reset both phones. Is all of my info gone? I mean, Goooooone? No way to retrieve it (no way for someone else to retrieve it if I sell it)? Also, are they now considered Unlocked? Are they only good on Verizon? What other questions might I get from buyers on ebay? TIA.
  13. Thanks all. These are Verizon, and I don't have any AT&T. Update: The Blackberry is an 8830, w/ red case. Lightly used.
  14. At the moment, all of the Yuenglings. Mmmmmmm. Shiner Bock is a fave, as is Amstel Light, as long as its not on an airplane. Had one on my last flight, and I think it had been on there a looooooonngg time. Pretty rough (but I drank all of it. Go figure).
  15. I have a Blackberry 3360 ( I think. Its been awhile) worldphone thats about two years old, and just swapped to another phone from a HTC TouchPro2. Both work fine, and were on Verizon (if that matters). I tried to hand one down to one of my kids, but they'd "have" to have a data package with them, and that ain't happening. What do I do with these?
  16. Haven't opened the game yet. I loved the "old" version, and this one looks great, but I like racing my son (10 yrs old) in split screen. Irks me that virtually none of the new games are split screen/ 2-player. I understand that PSN is the hot stuff, but I'd rather race someone I'm sitting next to. I love racing games, and esp the NFS series. Drift kept me happy for quite awhile (yes, I'm a simpleton). Scottie: No PSN ID for me. May try to use his. Will probably crack and beer and the plastic on the game tonight.
  17. http://wavlist.com/movies/027/fri-spanish.wav LOVE this movie
  18. Funny that this was just posted. I got a "you're a super customer, and we really appreciate you" glossy from Verizon, whereby they're letting me cash in my new every two about six months early. I HAAAAATE my current HTC TP2, and Droid X is one of the phones they offer at a special (though still high) price. Played with one in the VZW store, and like the X more than the Incredible. Went in there planning on walking out with a new Incred, but left with nothing after the X muddied the waters. Also, was in WallyMart last night, looking for someone to get me into the game case (HAD to get the NFS Hot Pursuit), so looked at the VZW phones at the counter. Their price on the X is $50 less than the VZW store itself ($149 vs $199). Anyone know if they'll honor that glossy superspecial flyer, so I can get my NE2 earlier?
  19. Whoaaaa there. Shouldn't it be a "47 hour and 58 minute sale"? Kinda misleading, doncha think?
  20. Wheres a pic of her making a sammich? Surely, stormtroopers eat sammiches, right?
  21. Untrue. Good friend has his own plane, and loves that he doesn't have to put up with this. No matter where he flies inside the USA and its protectorates, of course. Land, get in the car, and leave. Why would they try to stop you from blowing up your own plane? You can just fly it into the local IRS office, if you want to cause harm.
  22. Latex AND a nurse outfit. Oh, thankkkkk youuuuuuu.
  23. Until you get sued by a person who hits you and injures you because you weren't wearing your government-mandated seatbelt: http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/suing-victim-motorist-goes-after-parents
  24. This is mine. Don't need it, but don't want to throw it away, either. Was told that it would fit my NSR250, but it doesn't. Free to OR member/ acquaintance/ "special friend"/ whatever. PM me if interested. Pickup only. http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/mcy/2058598164.html
  25. Link worked okay for me, but here's the long URL. http://www.daytondailynews.com/news/dayton-news/der-dutchman-begins-cleanup-following-devastating-fire-978429.html
