Love my SOG Flash II, carry it every day, shirt/tie included.

How do you know this?
-
Yeah, I get why you would want a setup like this over a standard bipod. Especially considering that they are basically in the roof shooting down. I'm just saying the tripod itself doesn't look all that sturdy. Here's a link to the tripod manufacturer.... http://www.phoenixtactical.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=5&zenid=st8u3333ssc7ptbljsjerqlcr1

Talk about nosebleed seats. I think the book laying below the rifle says "Indianapolis Metro Police". Possibly his ballistics chart? Seems like no matter what those snipers are going to be at least a couple hundred yards away from the closest possible target. Shooting into a crowd of people at that range seems like a risky tactic, although I'm sure they are there just to have the option if needed. Would have to be some pretty extreme circumstances to give these guys the ok to shoot. Digging that XLR chassis system. www.xlrindustries.com

Found this image posted in another forum. I suppose the context of the image is legit, although I'm surprised that any LEO would be dumb enough to post the photo. Reveals a lot about tactics and equipment. But anyway, it looks to be either a Savage or Remington in a XLR Chassis, I can't tell the difference. Scope appears to be a US Optics, but also hard to tell. What about the tripod? Is that legit? I see a bipod folded upfront, but the tripod doesn't look right. Doesn't look nearly sturdy enough for precision rifle shooting. Anyway, interesting photo regardless of details.

Sold out. Due to an overwhelming response, our supply of the Streamlight TLR-1S Weaponlights has temporarily run out. We have more on the way that will be here in approximately 2-3 weeks. Feel free to order yours now at this low price to reserve yours, and we will ship your order out as soon as possible.

Have you been able to date that receiver at all? I've heard that the older make 870 receivers were fully milled and much better quality than the current stuff. Also, is that trigger assembly all metal?

Puerto Rican Police? How the heck did you come by that one?

What doesn't make sense? They are a company who is beholden to its shareholders and doesn't want their name in the news for stupid shit that has nothing to do with anything except the marketing of their products in a positive way. Makes prefect sense to me. I wish more companies would have similar policies instead of trying to be so PC all the time. Just don't mistake it for being pro gun. I'm sure it makes the brand marketing people at Starbucks cringe every time they see see their brand referred to as pro gun.
-
Starbucks is not pro gun, Starbucks is not anti gun. Starbucks takes no position on any social issues other than to say they respect the laws of the states and municipalities in which their stores reside. In areas where other brands were banning open carry Starbucks chose to stick to their policy and state that they would respect the local laws. Some pro gun folks grabbed on to this and started claiming that Starbucks is pro gun. But make no mistake, Starbucks common sense policy is intended to protect Starbucks not gun owners.

I suggest to the OP to check out Gunbroker to get a sense of what those models go for. Be sure to check the completed auctions as well as those in progress, as asking price and selling price are almost never the same thing.

You can afford more guns. Don't let anyone tell you any different. I bought the M&PC .40 for my first carry gun but didn't have a good experience with. The slide kept locking back mid magazine. Seems that the big flat nose of the .40 bullet was bumping the slide catch fooling the gun into thinking it was empty. Would happen once ever single magazine. I read that others with the .40 had the same issue, but not the 9mm was fine. I sent the gun back to Smith, they "fixed" it and sent it back. I shot another 50rds through it without any failures but still sold it anyway. I need to have a little more faith in the tools that my life depends upon. I don't have anything against Smith, but if I was buying a striker fired pistol in 9mm it would be a Glock, end of story. But I don't like stiker fired, so I ended up getting a Sig p239 instead. It's an all metal frame, so its a little heavier which some people don't like. Its also a single stack so it has a relatively small capacity of 8+1. But it has a hammer that I can see (not striker fired like a Glock or M&P), and it is SA/DA trigger. So if you don't want it to go off don't pull the trigger, just like a revolver (for the first round anyway). But as I live and breathe after probably 1000 rds through it has never failed, and it actually is a lot of fun to plink with too, is very accurate. It's a Sig, so plan to spend a little more. Mine is the anti-snag version with the tricked out trigger, and was about $700 from Vance.

Damnit, there goes the value of the '52 HRA M1 I bought at the OGCA gun show two weeks ago.

I agree with all that's been said regarding whether or not the generator/warmers are needed or not. Ultimately if the OP decides he wants to buy them I would repeat the recommendation that he get at least a 2K Watt generator. And as was previously stated, based on the laptimes of 1:30+ I would agree that genny/warmers/race tires probably isn't where you stand to get the biggest bang for your buck in regards to making improvements. But... I would certainly keep in mind that by the time June/July roll around that you might want to consider at least a rear DOT race tire, even if your laptimes haven't improved much. The dual compound street tires are great but on a 140 deg track they might start to get a little slick.

I keep birdshot loaded in the home defense shotgun. I'd prefer to not penetrate a wall and kill my kids with slug or 00 buck. For an all around (not just home defense) I would probably have to choose the 00 buck.

Now you're talking like a survivalist! Don't get me wrong, I'm sitting on a few thousand rounds each of 5.56, 7.62x51, 7.62x39, 12ga, 9mm, 45 acp, 22LR, etc. Every time a new zombie movie comes out I run to Walmart to buy cheap ammo. Looks like I'll be making another trip today now that I've learned of the scourge of coyotes that's just waiting to be unleashed.
-
Lol, sorry to imply this was mine. While I do have an M1A, my better consciensce prevents me from gutting it to install into an EBR stock. Maybe someday when I can afford another I'll go this route.
-
Sage EBR stocks give me a chubby, but this how its done properly....

Good luck trying to survive on nothing but deer. Something tells me that when the SHTF you're going to be glad to have any meat at all, and its more than likely going to be rodents, squirrels, and rabbits, much like settlers and native Americans did. Good luck collecting the meat from the squirrel that you've just obliterated with a 5.56 or 7.62 round. Katrina is probably the most "realistic" SHTF situation, and it was even pretty hard to imagine that in a "modern" society that a Katrina situation could occur. That being said, lot's of people been killed by .22LR. Cheap to buy in BULK, easy to store, lasts forever, and most the pistols/rifles that shoot it are damn simple in function and to operate.
-
Not sure what you define as "SHTF". What's with the desire to kill coyotes too btw, are we expecting the world to be overun with coyotes when the SHTF? You should also consider that in a real survival situation you're more than likely going to use this weapon to hunt for food. If you are really serious about having a SHTF weapon you'll buy a 10/22 and about 10,000 rds. Not as glamorous as decking out an AR with all the tacticool bling on the market, but could be yours for the less than $1000.

KSG's are in! And I lost all respect for Woodbury Outfitters

Am I the only one that thinks that a shotgun loaded with 13 rds is going to be ridiculously heavy? -
The challenge is finding a range that will allow you to shoot a gun "full auto" with this stock instead. Most ranges don't want you shooting full auto with the Class IIIs because most people are ignorant to the fact that full autos can be legally owned.

Really? You don't think you are over paying for guns already? What until the next assault rifle ban comes along and that DPMS AR that used to cost $900 all of the sudden costs $2000. Gun and ammo manufacturers/distributors have been manipulating prices since the beginning of time, and the NRA helps them do it. It's called reality when dealing with firearms. It's all about supply and demand. -
There are better prices out there than direct from Lucid btw. Built in the USA, uses a std AAA battery, integrated ambient light sensor or you can adjust the brightness of the reticle manually, 2 hour auto shut off, 4 reticle options which can be set on the fly, and a 2x magnifying lens that can be screwed on at will. These aren't junk, and are the most feature filled red-dot that money can by IMO.
