No, there is a difference, but you all know it all and will beat this to death. I am done with it. Sorry for trying to help. I will not get involved with any of this kind of thing anymore. Its not worth it.

The requirement is for financial responsibility, which is usually in the form of a liability coverage, not for damage to the car. The issue here is for damage to the car.

chrome, that stuff just plain stinks. Honestly, I had never heard of having an accident and not calling the police, but I guess its more common place now. But there should be harsher penalties for people who do drive uninsured. I feel your pain, its happened to me but we were in a no-fault state and actually it made it easier to deal with. But the rates were higher there too. Ohio's car insurance rates are pretty cheap in comparison. Good luck

If you borrow someones car, you, the borrower, are not responsible for insuring that person's car. If they give you permission to drive their car, their coverage extends to you. There is a 'permissive use' clause in the insurance policy. But if their car is not insured, it is not the borrowers legal responsibility to have coverage or to ensure there is coverage for that car. It would be smart to make sure the car is insured, but there is no legal requirement. The insurance policy also says you must be the titled owner of any vehicle you are insuring, therefore you cannot insure someone else's vehicle. Clear enough? If not, maybe call the Dept of Insurance for Ohio.

Man that is a sweet gun. GLWS!

My wife is not home so I can't ask her...lol...but it seems if the car you borrow is not insured then your car insurance kicks in. But you are not required to have car insurance. You might not even own a car, but are a licensed driver. So how could you be required to be insured. I have read and listened to insurance law from my wife and its some crazy bs. What's crazier is every state is different. I know some stuff, but not everything. If I don't know, which I usually don't, I ask her. She has been in the industry for 35 yrs and knows quite a bit.

I like the looks of those Ducati's....not so sure I could ride one. I'm not as young as I once was...

Too bad about the bikes, but at least you can go shopping for a brand spanking new bike!

I am so sick of ths crap, but I can see its coming. Its not going to take much more to get the ball rolling nationwide. Another mass shooting, maybe a elementary, a college, or someplace with lots of people. Some meeting in San Fran where people are saying 'just one murder by gun is too many...'.....another where one of the councilman is a strong gun rights advocate even beginning to weaken his stance with such public outcry. States should have the power to decide for themselves, but in this day and age its a different beast. They do not. Political correctness, no fighting (back) in schools, paranoia or every little thing. And those crazy enough to think that getting rid of guns is the answer to all our problems. We are getting close to everything turning upside down. Think the Feds won't step in if a Federal agt is arrested and jailed for making someone comply to a Federal gun law? Just watch. It won't be pretty.

I was told by a Leo during a heated talk like this, that once a perp shoots a cop and its witnessed, then its 'open season' on the perp. Due process flies out the window at that point. Not saying I agree, just sayin...... I heard a report video tape where a LE said basically they set the cabin on fire. I also heard the couple he tied up in that same cabin, that he meant them no harm and he was just trying to clear his name. Not exactly sure what he meant about clearing his name, but I do think the LAPD wanted his mouth shut, and the 'blue line' of Law Enforcement is well known to cover each other's ass's so even though it was in another jurisdiction I'm betting all the LE's on scene were on the same page and this guy was not getting out alive, no matter what. This whole thing was a total failure at so many levels. And there is still no irrefutable proof it was Dorner that was burned up in that cabin.

Isn't it a law here in Ohio you have to have your car registered and insured unless its stored inside? So, technically, the only illegal part of this is the car that was being borrowed was uninsured. The guy driving it could just say he didn't know it was uninsured. The owner of the car that got his car hit is going to have to turn it into his insurance and pay the deductible. - The uninsured clause is only going to recover the deductible and any injuriy costs.- Then go after the driver that hit you in small claims court. But it might be hard to prove. Unless you have witness's or got a police report its your word against his.

. We agree....but if I were a betting man I would bet it will be so long before the truth is revealed it will be on the back page of whatever newspaper might pick it up off the AP wire.

Have a great Birthday!

I guess local news out there is saying they are not so sure who was in the cabin. And msm is claiming it was him. Not so sure we will ever know the whole truth behind this all, or how it really ended up. Total failure from so many aspects.......

Back in the 70's you could find it on TV alot. Don't think it was speedtv either. I remember this guy name Kenny something or other, rode a Yamaha, man I love watching him. Seems he won nearly all the time. That was back when I was into dirt biking big time and rode a Yamaha. Made me go look.... Kenny Roberts INDUCTED: 1998 First American to win a World 500 Grand Prix title Three time Daytona 200 winner Dude could ride.

My son bought a house and found abestos wrapped heat pipes it in. He hired an abatement company to come in and remove the asbestos and it was pretty reasonably priced. That mesothelioma is some bad stuff...

Interesting. Not sure I would like it although I love bacon and I love whiskey. Of course I wasn't sure about the Maple Crown Royal either, but man is it good, and its killer mixed with egg nog..... If I can find a half pint of the bacon bourbon I might just have to try some.
