    Roadkill

I saw on a chain email where some dude hit a bird between the spokes in his wheel.
  2. my pilot road 2's had a tread design i really liked. i have pilot powers now, and their tread is teh lamesauce..
  3. i've been told mixed things about brake cleaner on o/x rings. what's the consensus here?
  4. Stg or mc-ss has ok prices.
  5. I'm interested, but... I do have a tail bag already.
  6. Not to rub it in, but I just got my 05 r6 for 3500. But... Putting $600 into it before I even ride, so... Meh. Good luck.

    That's a nice 650. Like the paint.
  8. My brother has a lightning. Bored out too... That thing is a monster. It will be a very fun bike, that's for sure. I'd be worried about replacement parts down the road, considering but buell is out of business...
  9. Sounds epic. Those ktms look fun. I seriously miss dirt riding.
  10. I clean it when it starts accumulating more gunk than a healthy dose of spray lube will knock off. Just wd40 and a bristle brush and a rag is all I usually do.
  11. thank you lol. i saw it on another forum, so it's just now apparently making its way around the interwebs.
  12. a pickle! http://www.webbikeworld.com/t2/chain-pickle/
  13. i'm getting a 520 chain and sprockets when i shorten it. :-)
  14. already has a fender elim. hids are stock lol. idk what i would even want to do!? though yours is a track bike, you may know... can you move the connectors and readjust the lights so it has eyes, rather than one side for low beam, the other for brights?
  15. it just has extenders on. when i take the axle off the extenders come off, and make me a little money. same as the lowering link.
  16. i used to ride 4 wheelers a bunch as a kid. then dad got a ts125 to goof off in on. has quite a bit of land over in lebanon too. after not riding the dirtbike for a couple years, then starting on the streetbike last year, i went to ride it a little and felt like i was back at square one. with handling at least. i eventually got used to sliding again though. sliding the rear is fine, but when you crank the bars it takes a couple milliseconds for the bike to follow. at which point the front is wallowing and it's all sorts of uncomfortable. twas for me anyway. it got fun again really quick though.
  17. congrats on your "upgrade." hope it all turns out well. i recently sold my ninja 650 for the same purpose.
  18. From a guy in Xenia. He had it on CL for $3500, so I figured it'd have something wrong with it besides "high mileage and its gonna need new tires by the end of season" It's got swing arm extenders and a lowering link, as well as a hacked off kickstand. At least he actually lowered the front forks too lol. I've got a used kickstand and dog bone in the mail somewhere. Also, the tires were beyond bald... Threads showing in multiple places, gashes from doing burnouts on his gravel driveway, and cracks in the tread sipes... The rear is so flattened it looks square. Literally. But... for $3500, it is an ok value. Made better by the Power comander, yoshi slip-on, and "claimed" jardine header. idk what it looks like, so i can't tell, but i'm not that concerned. It'll have plenty of power for little old me for quite a while anyway. So far, the kickstand and dog bone were $40ish each. DID X ring 520 chain, vortex spools $166 from motorcycle-superstore. Renthal Sprockets were $70ish? from mjnmotorsports. Tires were borrowed/free from dad, so long as I can go on his ride next weekend, but I got a set of Power Pures for $214 shipped from STG. And to do it all at once, I know a guy who knows a guy who will do it for $200. So roughly $4100 for adopting an 05 R6, and showing it the love it never got... No pics until it's purdy.
  19. Count me out. Bought an R6 the other day. Free bump for ya.
  20. i'm waiting patiently on funds man. this bike looks nice...
  21. at home calibration for cheap asses: measure your wrench, put a certain weight on one end. say... duct tape a 20 lb dumbbell to it. it should be at the center of the handle. stick it on a rigid fastener horizontally. read the torque, divide it by the length. does that equal the weight? if it's near enough you're good. this isn't a nuclear bomb you're working on. :-/
  22. that looks exactly like a bike i saw on craigslist. but it was a spam deal.
