i'd just get a smaller bike! saw an old due in racing position on a pseudo-vespa the other day. he was scootin!
-
awesome on the grips. btw, what's your windscreen mod you have already? a slit to allow a pressure balance? if so, how well does that help?
-
Agreed. But, why bling? It's seriously a comfy bike. Way easy to ride. I wished I had just stuck with it. But, I am glad to have gotten experience on the I-4, and now the triple. Mmm, the triple... just gotta get that thing a seat and some grips. Oh yah, I'm a pussy, and I demand the progrip dual sport grips. Idk part no. 9004? I highly suggest them for commuting comfort.

650 shouldn't need more torque... I'd stick to stock gearing, and keep your awesome fuel efficiency. But, that's me, not you. I loved my double bubble. Made the ride noticeably quieter. Especially with sportbars. Integrated tail was nice and bright. Other bikers were jealous. The rearsets felt fine for me. And looked badass! I wanted to cut off the passenger pegs like someone on riderforums did, but the gf would not have been happy... I just disagree with the sprocket change. You have the airflow, wait until after your tune, and you'll be much more enthused with the torque. I still miss that bike.

It's a dollar less. 6 months as planner to help with restructuring. Then, if they can reliably keep up with jobs, evaluation and ' possible' engineer. I don't want to wait to see them say, you've done enough, you're done. I'll keep looking while I'm there. I'm just happy to have a seamless transition, within four days of being notified I was out at the end if the week.

I'm interested in a review as well. Looks nice!

Well, as of right now, I'll settle for co op pay, over no pay. I have an interview monday for a real engineering position, so I may not even stay a month with the company. we'll see what they offer. Edit: plus, my co-op hourly pay, full time was in the entry level engineer salary range. Dem checks were good!

So, many of you saw my thread in the job board. I potentially have acquired a job with a contractor here at AK. I'm going in tomorrow at 7 for the 'offer'. But here's the deal. It's a small place. It's not a 'mechanical engineer' job, but more like a job planner, organizer kinda role. They're making this role up because they are small, and growing. They have a lot going on and poor lines of communication, coupled with ADD supervisors. Pretty much what the very nice HR lady explained to me during the interview. Sounds kinda cool, fast paced, lots of different projects, overall exciting for a first job. But, it's not a mechanical engineer. Nor is it full time. Nor is the hourly rate as much as my co-op rate, which is lower than even an entry level engineer's pay. It is, however, a job. And I need one of those, because tomorrow is my last day at AK. Yes, I'm going to the contractor, then to work! So, I'm going to take it. I have to, to pay rent. But, I want to keep looking. I just don't want to get a job, then jump ship soon as the grass gets greener on the other side. Especially, because it is a small business. I guess the thought of that makes me feel like a douche. Should I? Or should I go for the 'It's all bout what's best for me' philosophy? Thanks for any advice. I'm glad to have a giant group of folks in professional jobs I can ask questions. (cue up 'How has OR affected you' thread)

Ah, scrolly text!

Looking to break into the motorcycle scene. Is a 600cc too much?
RSparky replied to TMonhollen's topic in Introductions
So, your boss sold you a non-working bike. Hm. Nice guy, eh? Congrats on taking the course though. My friend recently bought a 250, and plans to take the course soon. I told her I'd go with, if there were two openings. I need a refresher. Slightly doubtful though. -
I usually watch reviews and check sizing on sportbiketrackgear.com and revzilla.com. They also don't have hateful prices. Sign up for their emails to get coupons and closeout notifications. oh! Motorcyclecloseouts.com, too. I guess what I'm saying is, shop online. Edit for simultaneous posting: go to the manufacturers sure for their sizing charts. Sometimes they're slightly off, but the aforementioned sites sometimes note that as well.

Hey all, Figured I'd post here, as well as my usual job search. I graduated from Wright State University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, and a 3.0 average. I have worked in a shop, using a mill, lathe, power drills, welder, disc grinder, table saw, and other hand tools. I have been at a co-op at AK Steel for 11 months now, doing hand drawing revisions as well as some engineering projects along the way. At WSU, besides the usual math, math, math, I learned how to use Solidworks and MATLAB proficiently. I've also had experience with ANSYS and Labview. Ohio jobs are cool, but I am also completely willing to relocate to a warmer locale, as well. Any leads are appreciated.

That's more like what I expect to see. Sorry to hear.

I have learned so many acronyms! Tldr Lbtsglws Siihb Ok not really. Being young, it's nice to see there's a chance I can remain a rider and not die by the time I'm 30.

You pet more than his hair...

QFT. I also had a bike before a manual car. If a 250 is out of the options, and a 600 is too much, I'd vote 650. Or a dual sport, that can take some abuse. Happy hunting! And remember, she has to like it to ride it. It'll be her new purse.

The midget is up to something...
-
Now if only it were available to buy. I'll stick the the loud ass alarm, beat stick, and full coverage option for now.
-
if there are obstructions directly in front and behind you, then you may want to spin it, rather than inch up and back a thousand times. if you are not confident, and think you might drop it, just go the safe way...
-
yah, gotta add it to both. keep in mind though that the coolant actually goes from the reservoir to the engine. so while it's running, the reservoir may show a different level than when its cold.
-
unobtainium, eh? heard that's pretty slick shit, anyway, i've known of this. only ever had to do it once. and definitely wished i had practiced it when i was sandwiched by other bikes, and trying to get mine out without touching theirs.

I'd like to see a statement from the man himself though.

I know it's not a gun law, but this does matter to you guys. what you do on the internet is now completely legal for the feds to spy on. http://www.sitesnotspies.org/ I don't do this often, but seriously this shit is bad for the future of the internet.
