  1. I hope to get a chance to ride with you again before you leave, if not, maybe I will see you at Grattan... 3 hours to meet and ride is not that bad, it is a bit over 2 1/2 hours for me when I have met you at the Bolivar DQ to ride...
  2. If you are patient, you might want to wait and see what Suzuki's new V-Strom is all about. http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/bikes/2014-suzuki-v-strom-1000-concept/
  3. I wanted a Daytona so bad for the track, settled for an SV, then a Tiger for adventure touring, settled for a V-Strom, money was the only obstacle keeping me from having 3 Triumph's in my garage. When I decided to purchase a V-Strom, I had to make a choice between the Ninja 1K and the Speed Triple, both are real good motorcycles in my opinion, but unfortunately, one had to go, the Speed Triple is still in the garage.
  4. Nice seeing you guys this morning at Millersburg Speedway. I hope you enjoyed your ride, we had a great time on ours....
  5. With so many pill pushing doctors today, and so many people willing to take them for almost anything, marijuana seems harmless...
  6. V-Strom.... I too have a very short inseam, and it is not a problem for me at all at stock height. There are plenty of them out there at a decent price, even a left over new one, and the touring accessories, and upgrades are endless for the V-Strom. I preferred the 650 over the 1000, but the 1000 will make you a great bike if you went that route, a bit taller though. The Versys, I am still wondering if that would have been the best bike for me, all though I am very happy with my V-Strom so far, I still wonder...The Versys are tall too, keep that in mind. Both can be lowered some with ease, and not at all expensive to do, if you feel the need. Best of luck with your decision!
  7. Some good advice here. Thank you! Ryan, thank you for asking about the exact same problems I have at the track, I could not have asked in a better way... you nailed my exact same thoughts/feelings about track riding... I think that is where my addiction comes from, I always leave disappointed in myself for not riding better, and not having more confidence in the bike, and myself...I need to clear my mind, to much going on while out there, a big problem for me!!! I know I need to loose some weight too, It does hamper me from getting my body where it should be on the bike, and of course it makes everything else harder for me than it needs to be out there too...

    Tires

Wow getting the most out of that one...
  9. This^ I tried to do the cruiser thing, it was not for me, a very expensive, and bad decision the way I went about it...
  10. I often say that I hate 536, but I ride it every time I get a chance... If the road surface was to get properly fixed, that road will be amazing, and very dangerous at the same time.
  11. If you are going to lower it anyway, and use it mainly for commuting, I would certainly be considering something comfortable and user friendly, a sport bike/race replica (600RR, ZX6, GSXR etc.) would not even be an option, why would it be? V-Strom, Versys, ER6N, Ninja 650, Gladius, SV650, FZ6, etc., plenty of good choices out there.
  12. I would like to go on this ride, but I cannot, besides if I was going out that way that early, I would probably be at Nelson...Have a fun safe ride!
  13. Try "Navigation", I have it on my "Droid", I have not used it, but I think it will work for what you are asking it to do?
  14. Rode part of the route Saturday, met Jnor at Route 62 BBQ, not by plan, talked shop a little... nice meeting you!
  15. As of now, I can make this, but my weekend work schedule can change at any time. Trying to decide on where and which group I will meet up with though?
  16. Thanks for sharing, makes me even more pissed that I could not make this.
  17. I am not going to make this, not that it matters, but anyway...
  18. I would like to build something similar for my daughter.

    sat-afternoon

I could be in that area around that time...hmm, maybe I should load up a street bike.
  20. Leaf season is not one of my favorite times to visit the Smoky Mountains, I have tried twice now, and the traffic is very heavy, and slow moving... Riding at night, which I usually am not a fan of at all on twisty back roads, was the best time for me to ride during this time of year. Don't take this the wrong way, it is/can still be fun at times, but constantly passing slow moving, and completely stopped vehicles, really got old throughout the day for me.
