  1. Title says it all. Looking to buy a set of late 90's/early 2000's 748 forks or the adjustable showa forks from a 900ss. Need to be in working condition, internals will more than likely be replaced because I'm fat. Long shot I'm sure, but hey.
  2. Thanks, gives me something to do in the coldentimes.
  3. I would venture to guess that had Trump lost, he would have riled up his base by restating everything was rigged, mass voter fraud, etc, etc and things would have been just as bad if not worse. This push trying to invalidate the electoral college seems to happen every election cycle with whomever didn't win. "Maybe this time we can get the loophole that's never worked before to work!" Nope. I just hope people figure out there are two parties at play in these protests and the ones pushing violence are more than likely there for a paycheck rather than to simply voice their opinion.
  4. good point. you can still pull into it, then install the rear-stand, then push it back safely and put on the front stand. extra steps and extra time for the same outcome, just like government!
  5. @TimTheAzn this is true, Baxley is worth it, especially if your new track bike doesn't have a kick-stand and you like it to stay upright while you dismount in the paddock. I mean, you can do the 1-handed-rear-stand dance while trying to balance the bike with your other hand but riding into a wheel chock is so much easier.
  6. really curious how that bike would look as a naked conversion.
  7. I wonder how many of those out rioting actually bothered to vote. Honestly.
  8. this daytona is frisky, it likes to play butt-touch when trailering.
  9. interesting read: http://nbc4i.com/2016/11/10/president-elect-trumps-plan-for-his-first-100-days-in-office/
  10. That was my thought. Or some kind of scam.
  11. What will we bitch about once everyone stops caring about who won the election in a week or two? Can we go back to Starbucks hating christmas?
  12. For the peeps who have sold a shitload of bikes/cars on craigslist - do you normally provide a carfax-type report with the vehicle on your own dime? Gotten a good bit of interest on the SV lately and a number of them are requesting that I pay for a VIN report, which I have promptly said to F-off until you're willing to spend your own money on due diligence like I have when buying a car/bike... Guessing cheap fucks like this are common?
  13. If you take a look at the news footage from last night, there's a lot of "Socialists for X" or "People's Party of Y" marching around. So pretty much the same shit-stirrers that have been organizing protests since the 60's. Granted, there were probably a lot of random normal people mixed in that were unhappy with the outcome of the election and just looking for an outlet for their frustration. The part about the protests that bothers me is that the media was trying its damnedest to pass them off as "organic, grass roots" protests, as evidenced by the 10,000 times they said those phrases in their coverage last night when clearly that wasn't the case. These protests were organized.
  14. Hillary is more hawk than Obama, and he loves killing folk over in the sandy desert. As far as Trump's foreign policy - you're exactly right. He has no clue about foreign policy, which is why he appoints a cabinet to tell him what to do. We have no idea what his foreign policy will look like until we see who's in his cabinet. At this point it could be a train wreck, it could be business as usual, or it could even be better.
  15. Yeah but with the F to C to uK conversion rate, 15 below for them is like 60 degrees for us. Pretty much tropics. Also their money has funny names.
  16. Granted, Russia wants to be besties again because that was the plan all along. Create a new mini-cold war during the final run of the elections in a bid to help whichever candidate is more favorable towards Russia using impending nuclear war as collateral. Putin also hates Hillary for what she did as secretary of state, but I'm sure he sees Trump as the weaker, more easily manipulated option who's being elected helps Russia and their interests in the long run. A more isolationist America means Russia is free to expand its influence over old Soviet Bloc regions/etc. I firmly believe that we were more likely to be stuck in the same shitty war quagmire with Hillary as president than we are with Trump. But, at this point, who the hell knows what Trump's foreign policy is going to look like? It all depends on who he appoints as Secretary of State/Secretary of Defense. I don't have high hopes, but hey.
  17. You'll be receiving your Amazon Kickback Rewards Check from them shortly.
  18. Way to take everything literally, TIM.
  19. I didn't vote for the maniac, and certainly didn't want him to be president. But. I'm enjoying the fuck out of all the butthurt in the media and democratic party. What did @TimTheAzn say the other day? Play a stupid candidate, win an even stupider president?
  20. I'll bet those, as I'm sure they thought, "useless fringe Bernie voters," (aka most of the people who identified as democrat under the age of 50) would have been the margin they needed to push Hillary to win. Too bad they sabotaged ol' Bern, got caught and then drug his corpse through the mud with a horse named Hillary just to show how great they were. And I personally think Bernie is a useless old todger who bungles through his promises and fucks everything up royally. But hey, what do I know as a Vermonter. He still got my vote, because he would have been a lame duck president with no ability to put any of his shenanigans through the majority repub house/senate.
  21. Battery can test fine but be bad. Case in point - battery on my track bike when I bought it tested fine but would not hold a charge. Also, a hot battery is a pissed off battery. A 30 minute test ride isn't going to create the same conditions as a 1500 mile twisty-filled 2-up jaunt through hillbilly land. Another thing - I was having issues with my Triumph last year just randomly shutting off while riding and then refusing to turn back on for 2-5 minutes (random), then it would start right up light nothing was ever wrong after resetting all of the dash/ecu/etc. This only happened when the bike had been out for a few hours, usually towards the end of a ride. It really got pissed off at me when I took it for a track day, I wasn't sure I was going to get home (was a dum-dum and rode the bike to the track). People said bad battery, bad battery. I was hesitant, because it still ran but I bought a new battery. No issues at all after installing the new battery. If it isn't your battery, it's probably gonna be expensive.
  22. Quite the opposite. Taking it to the track is doing your best to minimize the inherent dangers involved with going fast on a motorcycle. Splitting lanes at 100+ mph in a heavily congested area is asking for a darwin award, or at least an honorary mention.
