  1. It's a public forum, of course people are going to say whatever they want. If it's a problem I'm sure IP could just have their ad threads locked so nobody can reply. But then again, nobody would pay any attention to them. This thread has had legs for a number of days because of the discussion. /shrug
  2. @jacobhawkins and I are putting together a kart day on 1/28 if anyone is interested. We are planning on checking out the "super track" they run on Sundays at the gas karts on the east side town right off of 70. They have 2 tracks at this place right next to each other that are normally separate, except for Sunday when they link the two together to make a longer, more complex layout. It seemed fun. Current plan is: Meet at GPK Columbus at 2pm on Sunday, 1/28 I will be purchasing the 3-race package ($60), everyone else is free to do what they want We should be done with karts by around 4PM. At this time we will head to the Columbus Brewing Company Restaurant for food and drinks - I will make reservations once we have a solid number of people planning to attend (the cost of all food/drink/kart tickets are each individual's responsibility) Website: http://www.gpkcolumbus.com/ Post up if you'd like to attend. Friends and family are welcome... they have mini-karts for little kids (toddler age). Currently we have 4 confirmed, and 1 maybe.
  3. I've had my Vortex rear stand for years and I picked up a front(head) stand last spring from them too. No complaints. About half the cost of Pit Bull stands.
  4. Cool. If I can swing the time off work I may be interested.
  5. Ahh, I think I'm traveling for a good portion of both of those months.
  6. VW are fine as long as it's still under warranty. I wouldn't buy a used one. Though the one I sold this spring was in pretty good shape for a 2002, only 82k miles and we bought it new. The exhaust was the biggest problem, I had to have it replaced 4 times... it kept rusting apart. It was pretty reliable overall. Had to have it towed once because it sat for 2 months and the coils somehow went bad in that time but that's it.
  7. Down another 6lbs since last Sunday.
  8. Why would you spray yourself with bugs?
  9. IP is handy to have so close (about 7-10 minute drive for me). I usually only buy parts and basic things there though. I'll buy tires from time to time as well as their pricing isn't too much more than what you find on the internet, and if I need it ASAP I'd rather pay the extra $10 than hope it ships in time from somewhere across the country. I do like browsing the bikes and sometimes they have a good deal on a leftover or something. With the amount of traffic they get I doubt they're willing to negotiate pricing on big ticket sales like other, smaller dealers will.
  10. I'm interested to know how the stock KYB on your new bike performs.
  11. I’d love to do one but March is the earliest I have a free enough weekend.
  12. Pie Town, NM My dad just bought an original 1870's horse drawn buggy in Pie Town to give people rides at their store in Cerillos (stop in and say hi next time you're in NM! Only about 30 miles outside of Santa-Fe, right next to Madrid). They went to the array while they were down there, said it was really cool.
  13. Great post! I was in silverton about 20 years ago, it was one of the coolest places I’d been. The town was almost completely deserted, the streets were all dirt/mud and every building along the Main Street drag had a raised wooden porch just like in a western. The bar/saloon was all original too. Went back 6 or so years later and the streets were paved and the town was overrun by tourists on 4 wheelers and giant 4x4s. The road out behind silverton that goes up to the old mines is really cool. Everything is stained red from the iron in the soil. Lots of old mining carts, tracks, tools and construction up that way too, just left to rot wherever it was the day the mine closed.
  14. I'm eyeing north Georgia as well, Tim. My sister will be moving to Atlanta to be close to her fiance's family in the next 2 years and my mom has kicked around the idea of moving down there to be closer to them as well. If I can be 1 hour from an airport for work and 1 hour from Wolf Pen Gap for play I'll be happy.
  15. If they were engaged in the community it might get them more business. /shrug
  16. Maybe someday I'll be able to start saving for retirement. Although I think retirement = death for a lot of people that got into the workforce during the recession like I did.
  17. If I didn't have to pay rent I'd have a new MT-10 right now too, and have $50k or more of my student loans paid off. Dreams.
  18. I don't doubt it. It'll probably be through break-in the week after he gets it...
  19. It damn well better, and it better be well through the break-in period.
