That was an assumption from my past experiences. I was not speaking for Drew. Ive worked with some state employees at my past job who would get mandated to stay the next shift because of call offs....somehow when they didnt want to work they had FMLA or would go by seniority so it would be the same people being forced to stay. There were too many people working for the workloads anyways. IP (I have no idea what you do or if you work for the state just inferring from your post) did you choose to work for the state knowing that was part of the job? You still get paid OT if it is past your 40 hours (assuming it is).
