Not a bike related death but I think some on here knew him so I thought I would post it up.
This weekend Dick Dailey the creator and operator of thre Farmstead poker run for Hospice of Knox County had a stoke and passed away early this morning. Dick was a passionate rider and had a heart of solid gold and has helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollar for Hospice over the years with one of the largest poker runs and weekend events I've ever see put on by private party.
RIP Dick you will be greatly missed.

We have a guy that brings our print dies to us. He has to ask one of use to climb up into his truck to get them every time he comes because he's too fat to get up there. And he's always got a McD's sweet tea in his hand and empty bag of fast food in his truck floor board. I'm in no way bashing all fat people because hell im a big boy myself. But if my weight got to the point that I can't even do my job anymore I think I would want to do something about it. People don't want help themselves anymore and society just says "It's Okay"
No matter if I'm on a bike or in a car I will keep with the fastest line of traffic or slightly faster and usually in the far left or right lanes. Why? Because if I feel like I'm in control of a situation I'm comfortable. I always run the far left or right lanes because it gives me an escape route on the shoulder usually, hate getting boxed in between car when I'm on the bike using the center lanes. And I prefer the far right lane on the bike even if I have to keep changing lanes to pass slower cars and trucks because there is a slimmer chance of getting nailed by The Fuzz. Other things I do on the freeway is I'll aggressively pass trucks, the less time beside them the better. If you have ever seen first hand I semi tire exploding at speed you will understand why. So i'll quickly zoom around them.
That's how I roll. Not saying it the best or the safest but it works for me and I always make good time on the freeway and (knock on wood) never had a ticket on the freeway either.
