Cruised thru Pigeon Forge, stopped on 441 for a shady break on our way back to Gatlinburg. Meeting family there then heading to BRP before dinner and then we're probably done for the day. See you all tonight at the party cabin
Getting ready to head up to the lodge for some coffee. If anyone wants to ride with us today, we're heading out about 9am for a 300 mile loop down to Bridal Veil Falls, Highlands, Blood Mtn, Cherohala, Dragon, and back to Fontana about dinner time.
Thanks guys, but we'll be much further southwest than Pensacola NC. No worries, just wasn't sure which/where that section of 197 was. See y'all tomorrow at Fontana, yeah?
Where abouts on Rt197?? Wife and I plan to ride it Friday, and rather NOT have ANY oh-shit-moments if I can help it. We're running the section between 76 & 356
I think the cookout afterwards was a nice touch and enabled those that stayed to eat a chance to chat more with other members. Years past when we finished, not many would stick around so we had time to go nab dinner somewhere else on the way home. So if it's possible at next years destination to cookout, I call that a winning idea. Maybe an annual GoFundMe account would be a better way for attendees to contribute to the ride/food too.
How about we station the groups in advance like we've done in Logan. That way each group can head out as the next faster group leaves before them. Worked well.
I'm bringing alcohol and food, we have a full kitchen and fridge in our cabin, and not too worried about the wifi/phone - but it would be nice to check my email in the evenings
Is there any cel signal around Fontana? I dont HAVE to have wifi, but it would save me some data while we're there. IronHorse had weak wifi too, but there was somewhat of a cel signal
As long as we can opt out of paying it, I dont find it to be a deal breaker - but Fontana should disclose that as an option though since they're automatically charging customers for it
WOW.....thanks for headsup, didn't realize it was a DAILY fee. Definitely will contest the additional charge since we'll be riding all day long and basically just sleeping at the resort.
That concrete guy has a lot of excuses, and very little expertise. I've NEVER done concrete, and common logic tells me the form and screed work has to be level. I truly hope the judge tears this guy a brand new pimply A-hole in court, and at least makes him pay for a REPUTABLE crew to fix his fuck up.
Since this is in the How-to section...here are some more specs I found as well...mind you, these are not copied directly from Honda's service manual, found them posted in another forum. They appear to be relatively legit values though
Axle Rear Nut: 69 ftlb.Front Axle bolt: 43 ftlb.Front axle pinch bolt: 16 ftlb.Fork, lower triple pinch bolt: 29 ftlb.Fork, upper triple pinch bolt: 17 ftlb.Front brake caliper mounting bolt: 22 ftlb.Rear brake caliper bracket bolt: 20 ftlb.
I say it's ALL good luck through bad situations. Either of those scenarios could've ended your trip had you chose not to trudge on. I think you've been lucky enough to meet some great people. Had all that happened around my neck of the woods, you'd be pushing your bike for hours on end while traffic flew by until you got back to a computer to find your phone for sale on Craigslist. You had better buy a stack of lottery tix SOON
We should get to Fontana around 1-2pm. Probably head straight for the Dragon after we check in, Thursday afternoon was a good time to ride it last year - so hoping for a repeat.
