  1. Ended up booking a 1br cabin for the wife and I. Emailed Marie at Fontana Village, and she was very accommodating by granting us the OR discount on yet another cabin. Seems we can probably get discounted on most any stay we want there for the booked weekend.
  2. I've bought both my Star helmets from Brian. Good guy, good prices, and good stuff folks. Buy with confidence
  3. I'm in the same boat with time and bills, but I'm lucky enough that my other bandmates are on that same page. So it enables us all to still get some practice and stage time. I'm blessed in that respect. Not sure how much longer I can hang with metal though, my pick hand suffers from mild carpel tunnel from all the years of trem picking. I'm finally branching out into other genres, which is something I should've done years ago. Acoustic guitar is quite a different realm compared to the technical metal style I've played all along, but I need this. I want to advance beyond my comfort zone, and develop more skills Thanks for the link, will give that a listen when I get home. I know the guys in Woe of Tyrants from the Chillicothe area, they're pretty badass.
  4. And THERE is the Epic portion of this venture
  5. Todd dont do bromance....he's more homance
  6. I'll hug him.....with a running start.....in the back
  7. C'mon Ben....he's practically beggin for it
  8. I joined around March 2011 ( maybe?...ish?...abouts? ) NinjaNick was an OG, but he quit us a couple years ago I think.
  9. But hitting makes me feel better
  10. You can go ahead and hit him with a few warning points for me. Afterall, he hurt my feelings when he assumed I had a vagina hidden in my wife's purse
  11. This. It's almost like joining, yet another, new forum.
  12. I cant either, but I'm on my mobile. Quote his post then copy the link from the post box
  13. That's nice Jim....poke the bear, see what happens
  14. Dude, ya gotta keep SOME equipment around to at least jam on once in a while if the mood strikes. In the 22+ years I've been a metalhead, I have bought and sold several halfstack and fullstack rigs, but I've ALWAYS had a few guitars and amps in case I get the urge or jump projects. What band are/were you in? If you guys are still playing out, I'd dig spectating sometime. I'll try and remember to throw out an invite should we play up your way again.
  15. Or....a prison sentence will get ya balls on your back too
  16. High protein diet and more weight when you lift, and lift more than twice a week.....maybe every other day, or a 2 on and 1 off routine. Where's rawlins? He'll have proper advice
  17. **Sigh** Let's try this again Mike.....got anything in my size sir? PM me a price if ya do
  18. Wife and I are doing the same since the turn of the year. I'm down about 18 lbs just with the diet change ( salads, raw vegs, fish ). Plan to start a workout regiment soon too. We've got a biggest loser competition going on at work, so I stand to win some cash by June if I can cut 40-50 lbs or more by then
  19. Incantation and Ringworm both ring a bell, and we may have shared the stage with them at some point. Can't always remember every band we gig with, between the 6 bands I've been part of, I probably have upwards of 300 shows played out. We traded shows with a group from Buffalo NY in the early 2000s called 3Below. We travelled up there a few times and vice versa. BUT, we've sadly never played Cleveland itself.....always Columbus area, Dayton area, Cincinnati, Toledo, Pittsburg, N.KY, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan. The barter system was used heavily back then. Bands would trade shows to gain exposure and push merch in other areas. Now, the internet has really broadened that beyond what we were capable of back then. My first band ( Levelled ) was signed a couple times, Fallen Angel Records ( independent label ) and later it was with Aurora Records ( semi-corporate sister label to Kardina Records ) which is were most of my out of state gigs came from in the mid-late 90s. The Reefer Hut sticks around the local area since we came back out, and we draw a good sized crowd depending on the venue. But it's just a hobby. We're nothing special, and none of us have plans on making music our life and tour all the time.....everyone has families and mortgages now, and metal = struggle, so there's no room in our lives for big commitment and low pay. If you see the bands you mentioned sometime soon, and they'd like to travel to the Dayton area, my rhythm guitarist ( Neil Hixson ) has a good sized club called Oddbody's Music Room. He books everything from death metal to country, and he hosts some local showcases as well as opening slots for big nationals.
  20. Name of our band is The Reefer Hut. Band started back in '95 and I joined early '99. We'd opened for quite a few national acts back in those days. We took a hiatus in 2003 so we could all pursue other projects and came back together in 2012. Used to be a 7 man band with 3 guys on vox, but 2 left permanently in '03 so now we've just got Adam on the mic. Our sound's changed from rapcore ( imagine Slipknot and Linkin Park mix ) back then to just an extreme metal now ( more death metal and hardcore mix )
  21. Agreed -- and nice to see the WSBK seems to be working better for him.
  22. We played quite a bit in Toledo and Bowling Green back in the late 90s and early 00s. The metal scene was kicking there pretty good back then, but haven't been back since. Best venue we frequented in Toledo was The Main Event ( think it's changed owners as it's now Main Street Bar&Grill ), opened up for a few national acts there ( Union Underground, Hed PE, Dope, Bobaflex ) but we also played smaller clubs like BPM and Frankies across the street ( but those were dives ). Bowling Green's Howard's Club H was the good metal slam there. As for good riding in that area, I've no clue.....all we did back when we'd play up there was get high and shoot at signs along the river from our van
  23. Right?! A doctor with a brand new Harley doesn't have funds for Uship or his own trailer
  24. That's a win. Divorce can lead to some killer deals sometimes
  25. Where's all the fatbody suit stock?? I'd wear like a 56/58US ( at least I think that's what my TrackSkinz suit is )
