Not to thread jack but its is called "another goob giving us a bad name" Today I saw a kid getting off the highway at the kenwood mall exit here in cincy about 12:00 He was riding a kawasaki ex. I believe it was a 250 but I could have been wrong. Anyways he was wearing jean shorts and a SUPER baggy t-shirt that looked 10 sizes too big. When the light turned green and he took and made his left turn he was jerking the bike really hard with every shift but really wasn't going fast at all. I watched him go all the way down the road about 2 miles and he had his left signal on the whole time. --hey buddy, we all had to learn to ride but my god man get some gear and learn to shift gears before heading out in heavy traffic. Oh and by the way you did not look very cool with your sweet graphics skulls helmet jerking around like your neck was made of rubber as you shifted gears.

So I have an old buddy who is no longer a friend. We had a falling out a while ago and moved on with our lives no big deal. I still see him all the time but rarely talk to him. We work at the same company. He owes me 50 bucks and has for a long time. He will never give me that back. I've even asked him and he said he doesn't owe me anything. BULL. Anyways here my dilema He had a 1rst or 2nd generation Ipod Nano that he lost. Turns out it was under my seat in my car. Its a piece of crap but I figure if I sold it I could prolly get 40 bucks for it. Id consider his debt nullified. He has no idea I have it. Is it possible to track it if I sold it? should I sell it?

Turn out my crank sensor was gummed up or not aligned right. The ECU was not allowing the injectors to fire ( thanks to noid light ) As soon as I unplugged it and cleaned and reinstalled it the bike fired right up. I would up testing many circuits and did some head scratching before I was able to fix it. I want to say how much I appreciate Joes Cycle in Dayton for the advise. Everytime I've ever called or ordered anything they have gone waaayyy out of their way to help.

I have charged the NEW battery to full charge. ive tested the battery with a fluke 88 multimeter and found 12.8 volts and also tried to jump start it with a car jump box. MAC tools 12 volt 640CCA jump pack....NOT related to battery. I have not changed the oil recently ( 2 months ago ). but i do have CORRECT oil level I have good compression. I have plenty of fuel and i can hear the fuel pump prime at key on. I have removed the gas tank and found that i do have spark but replaced the spark plugs anyways since im already there. Ive checked my throttle cable bike wont start with kickstand up OR down. bike wont start in neutral OR gear. It is NOT trying to fire at all, just cranks -----> i know im getting fuel up to the rail atleast but have no idea if my injectors are firing. I assume that they are not. I need to figure out reasons why the ECU will shut off the fuel or any other reason why it wont start besides the basic "plugs" and "battery" thanks for the suggestions though My thoughts...mabe a bad crank sensor? mabe a bad clutch switch? mabe bad throttle position sensor? mabe im forgetting something? think of anything else?

Already pulled plugs and it is getting spark. No pressure in tank, tried to start with fuel cap open already. Definately not the battery. Its fully charged and new and I already tried a jump pack. It does crank quite well but doesn't even attempt to fire

Just replaced the battery about a week ago, also I tried putting a jump pack on it. Thanks though

So it was beautiful out yesterday. I rode to work and had an average shitty day. I looked forwards to leaving work for the ride home. So 6:45 came and I hopped on the bike and began my ride home. I got about 10 miles from work and pulled up to the intersection of Loveland Madiera road and 275 and when the light turned green I started to take off. The bike stalled. At first I thought I may have stalled it but I don't think I did. I tried cranking and cranking to no avail. I pulled off to the side into Lake Isabella parking lot and tried to figure out what was going on. I figured it was flooded or something so I let it sit for about 20 minutes but still no start. I saw probably 100 cars go by, 6 harley riders, 1 sport bike rider, and 1 scooter rider. Only 1 person stopped to see if I needed help and it was a girl in a car. I finally called my insurance because I have free roadside assistance. I wound up sitting in the parking lot of Lake Isabella until 10:30 at night before the tow truck came. So then the retard is trying to push my bike up his flatbed ramp by the tail and rear fairings and I say "wooh hold on!" But it was too late. SNAP. He broke all 3 tail covers. Well he said his body shop would repair it so I dropped my peices off today to them. I'm scarred to what they may look like when I get them back. So NOW...the task of figuring what's wrong. I have compression. I have plenty of fuel and can hear my fuel pump prime. I've checked all fuses with no problems, I've removed the gas tank and found I have spark and plugs look good. Is there anything that will not allow injectors to fire like crank sensor? Or any other ideas that I can check. 2001 Triumph TT600. Haven't had any previous running issues that I'm aware of, just died and now cranks. - if anyone is a Motorcycle mechanic or knows Triumphs really well please help. I am willing to pay or if you just have any ideas let me know

I was honestly really nervous about my first ride to work with all the moron rushing to get wherever but I gotta say early morning rides are by far my favorite. The air is crisp and not too many cagers and it puts me in a good mood for the shitty work day ahead. The ride home...that's another story

Welcome from another Triumph Rider btw, us "young guys" appreciate your tutilage

To each their own, I personally want the best chance to live if something happens. From what I can tell there is 10 reasons why someone doesn't wear gear. 1) Your Stupid. 2) Your a vagina and can't handle the elements. 3) You want to die 4) You either wish to be mentally handicapped and sip food through a straw or have a sweet gimp walk that I'm sure all the ladies will appreciate. 5) Your just too cool for protective gear and want to appear as a "badass" when in reality your peers think of you as a "dumbass" 6) You just can't find the right gear to match your chromed to the teeth Harley and sweet skull bandana. 7) You just don't give a shit about anything in which case you should die. 8) Your a newb hillbilly or nig nog or foreigner and just don't know any better because of improper upbringing. 9) You don't want anyone to miss the fact that you have a motorcycle and your desperately trying to better your social standard. 10) Your too old for this malarky and its just time to ride however the fuck you want to cause your gonna die real soon anyways so what's the difference.

Man, id do a lot of bad things for a crack at Jessica Alba.

My personal beef is tailgaters. I've really been paying more attention to who tailgates whether I'm on the bike or my car and its always the same person. A 30-40 year old soccer mom in a rediculously large SUV

Perhaps a scantily clad picture of this mystery woman will clear up this debacle?

Never really go wrong with Shoei if you can plunk down the cash. They are friggin awesome and I definately would have bought one but managed to get a HJC AC-12 Carbon Fiber helmet for 175.00, I couldn't pass that up. The HJC is obviously a cheaper helmet and you get what you pay for but they do sell different shields for HJC that doesn't fog up as badly. Also I found an anti-fog spray at Dicks Sporting goods made for Paintball masks that does a great job of preventing fogging.

Best case scenario is one guy has righty and one guy has lefty ( balance issue ) Cmon man, even Wiley Coyote had goggles on when he rode his rocket sled.
-
Cmon guys, really? Balls to butt? Sandals? Sunglasses?addidas? Aside from safety guys should never piggy back. Ever. For any reason. Under penalty of registering as a sex offender cause its offensive to see.

More unrelated randomness and thanks again btw 1- I read a lot of threads and see a few people talking about overheating their bikes by sitting in traffic. I thought bikes ( atleast mine does ) had auxilary fans that kick on when temp gets too high. Can the bike still overheat even with the fan or are we just talking bikes without fans? 2- I've flipped through MOM ( manufacturers owners manual ) and can't find anything about lubeing the clutch cable, can someone mabe post a step by step or atleast tell me where to lube? At the handle? At the mechanism? 3- sometimes when I kick into second gear she doesn't want to go and pops back out or I don't fully enguage it. It makes like a clicking noise and I feel the gear pedal bounce or vibrate. Am I just not kicking the lever far enough of mabe I need to adjust clutch cable or could I have another problem?

I have met some real good people here and ride with them as much as I can, I'm looking to meet and ride with more. Me: 30 years old- look young Ride sport bike Newer rider so I'm not as quick as others Always wear my gear Located in South Lebanon Ohio Prefer to ride in mornings and evenings Id like to ride all the time but never seem to have anyone to ride with. I like riding with other people a lot more than riding alone. You: be a nice person that understands I'm always gonna ride my own pace. Live close ( mason, kings, loveland, maineville, lebanon etc ) Don't have any issues with riding with sport bikes, harleys, touring, etc.

I will say that lately I have noticed A LOT of riders fully geared up even though its like 90 here constantly now. Only saw 1 young guy on a sport bike with shorts and tennis shoes and a t-shirt. He was atleast wearing a helmet. Kudos

One of the meanest riders I've ever seen is a 65 year old guy with a 70s Norton. You wanna see some riding, talk to a guy that's been riding forever.
-
A guy at the gas station said to me "hey cool motorcycle" I said "thanks, do you ride?" He said "no" and then asked "hey, why do you wear all that gear? I see other people just wearing sunglasses. Is that cause your just learning?" I said "yup so watch out!"
