Vacation??? Where to drive to? Where to end up?
Revelstoker replied to Beegreenstrings's topic in Dumpster
Road trips: Adirondacks is truly amazing. From their you can cut across Lake Champlain into VT, NH and head over to Acadia NP in Maine. Drop down to Boston and then come back through NY or PA. Fenway, Gettysburg, Hershey, Finger Lakes, Saratoga Springs, Mt. Washington. Niagra on the lake, wings in Buffalo. Tons of things to do and see along the way. Natchez Trace into MS. Graceland and stuff in Memphis and then pick up the Blues trail. New Orleans is worth a stop. Blueridge Parkway and Asheville, NC are nice. Savannah rocks. Ozarks is worth a trip if you haven't gone that way. -
Dunlop Q2 and I run 28/30 (rear/front) as a general rule.

No, that track was Little Tally, or Talladega Gran Prix Raceway just outside of Talladega, AL. You know, the town more famous for the big Nascar track. For all those posting up about next year, why not this year? I think Dubguy even offered up to rent out a track for the OR rider guys again:D

Yes, yes. It is really just a matter of demand and supply. If you want to do something about it, go for one of these: If only I had some free cash right now. Natural Gas is an alternative but non-fossil fuel represents the future. The Tesla S and Model X are legitimate electric vehicles for more than just everyday driving. The technology will be used for a Rav4 with Toyota and a Smart with Benz. Hopefully others so the price point will come down. Still issues with electricity generation but solar, wind and others can offset coal based production.

Not quite, this guy needs to be drawn and quartered, hanged or nailed to a cross. No way should more tax dollars be spent to keep this POS alive.

Friends don't let friends ride Yamaha. 600rr is nice but 848 is where it is at. Chicks dig Ducati more!

Newbie planning Iron Pony trip, tips on what to get?
Revelstoker replied to Moneyless's topic in Introductions
Just a personal rant but the retail market is taking quite a hit from this shop and online behaviour. Best Buy could be gone next. Motorcycle shops never had the best selection in to begin with. Considering the inventory cost and turn rates on apparel, it is not hard to blame them. These stores need the sales to support the showrooms and carry the inventory. We all need to do our part to support the local guys and the industry. I strongly suggest that if you like Iron Pony or your local guy, buy from them, even if it costs you a bit more. -
Farg. Stoner not treating his tires nicely?

Ok, in the long list of whacky Father's Day gifts, I can say that I did not get a tie this year. Though, I need a couple. I did get an official pair of "Pope" socks in Red. Yep, from the official supplier to the pope http://en.meschaussettesrouges.com/les-marques/socks-red.html and they just happen to be Ducati red. So, at least I have that going for me!

If true, fine with me. Much better than the millions the lawyers will make and state has to pay for the Sandusky trial. Bullet to the head would be cheaper and more effective.

Like so many things, intent. Fact lie and you can lie with facts. The serpent was a symbol of evil power and chaos from the underworld as well as a symbol of fertility, life, and healing. Would your run away from this sign if you were in need of medical care: In the garden of Eden, we always hear the story of the apple, snake, eve leading to banishment from Eden. However, the tree was Eve, the fruit was her womb and the serpent is sexual desire that started life. Poor Eve just got horny and it is all her fault. For that, the root of all our problems are women but they constantly tell us it is men. Deceitful cunning temptresses that they are. I consulted the Gods and they told me so, "Lots of people talkin', few of them know soul of a woman was created below." If you subscribe to the religious notion of God, 7 days, Adam and Eve - then how can everything we have today stem from something bad? Church even promotes procreation and forbids birth control. How can sex be evil if promoted and endorsed by the Pope, himself?

Grab rails are shit and provide a disconnect between rider and passenger. If the bike does not have a sissy bar or passenger feels uncomfortable, it is my preference to have the passenger hold onto my belt. I will loosen my belt a notch or two so they can use both hands on either side of me. This provides a much more secure and stable point of contact. Lean with the driver, feet up even at lights. One tap on shoulder for attention, two taps on the shoulder/leg for "I need to stop" if you don't have a communication device. Don't go crazy on the take-offs as it is easy to lift the front wheel and be prepared for her weight to push your junk into the tank if stops are too quick. Make sure to note any certain rpms where the bike vibrates. Harley's are so good for this but my old Shadow was great for female passenger enjoyment.

Cool bikes until you realize the f'ers still weigh 600lbs. http://heromotorcycle.com/harley-davidson/2012-harley-davidson-xr1200x-specs-and-price/ Get a Ducati Hyper, KTM SMR or Aprilla Dosoduro if you want that kind of thang. As to the OP, BOOOOOSSSAAAAA!!!!

Sounds like they bought 3 copies of Diablo 3. I quit WOW and Blizzard after my account was hacked three times. Sent them a nasty incompetence email about security. Now, LINKEDIN got hacked or someone internal got POED. At least D3 doesn't require a monthly subscription or I wouldn't be back. Come on Guild Wars2.

Yes, as my Shadow was an '85 and I had a sidecover fly off once. I gave up trying to find a replacement. Similarly, I also had a side cover fall off and get scratched up and Ducati dinged me $450 for a side cover on my 2008 Hyper. If you could solve for the electrical issue, the Sabre with that huge and killer motor would make an excellent project bike. Sell it, some one will give it a good home.

I was in Lancaster, OH on Thursday. I can't remember a time where a local area police force was so active. Cruisers were everywhere on 22 and 37. County and city forces were out and I even saw a few Staties. Many in transit but several parked on the roadside doing what they do best. Is that normal for Lancaster?

For now, yeppers. One of these days I might become more imaginative but I figure it is better than some form of commentary or political statement.

What could this problem be on a potentially amazing Craigslist steal?
Revelstoker replied to Ryan_c_F's topic in Daily Ride
I had a very similiar sounding issue with my CX500. Everyone thought it was fuel related but it turned out to be electrical. Somehow, somewhere, oil or water was coming in contact with the electrical bits and causing a short. Best way to describe, bike came up to temp, thermostat opened and bike cut out. Cool down, stop the water and it would run again. I didn't understand the issue then and I still don't get it now. It cost me all my summer college wage savings $500 in 1986 dollars to get fixed. Still painful after all these years. -
Newbie planning Iron Pony trip, tips on what to get?
Revelstoker replied to Moneyless's topic in Introductions
Yea, what he said. Helmet - they have a lot to choose from, so put fit over price. Don't assume it will "break in" as they never do. A small pain is a huge issue after a couple hours so I can't stress enough the comfort issue. Also, different brands fit different heads. (I have a Shoei head and cannot wear and Arai, for example.) Gloves - any thick and supple leather working type gloves will suffice but gauntlet style are better as jacket sleeves can ride up in a slide. Just make sure they fit tight and offer good dexterity (can hit the kill switch) Boots - no need to go crazy and just watch for a sale. Look for waterproof (gore-tex) when you do buy. Some do-dads that can make life easier: Battery Tender (you will need it come fall) + Stabil/Seafoam for the gas Disc lock if the bike will be stored/parked outside for extended periods Bungee-net (carry it on the bike) or 2 cords tied in a + shape. tire puncture kit (C02 cartridges - keep on the bike) After that, just ride it and enjoy. Many other needs/wants will present themselves in time. -
OK, really? The guy is gone - do we have to see the posts in your sig? Congrats on the new old ride.

How are you searching CL? Maybe some of these are your No Replies. Did you try Independent Motorsports? http://dayton.craigslist.org/mcy/3058685784.html http://dayton.craigslist.org/mcy/3059362145.html http://dayton.craigslist.org/mcy/3014421011.html (bit higher) http://dayton.craigslist.org/mcy/3004915065.html http://dayton.craigslist.org/mcy/3054590263.html (bit older but a good ride) http://dayton.craigslist.org/mcd/3048692537.html http://dayton.craigslist.org/mcy/3045513191.html http://dayton.craigslist.org/mcy/2989405725.html Bored now, not doing Cinci or Cbus.

Track bikes are "off road" bikes with Ohio. I am basing this off my experience last year when we moved to OH and I titled my track bike. They titled it as "off road" due to the fact that it was not road legal. Though, they looked at me kind of funny as it doesn't really need to be titled. I did it to show ownership anyway.
