Those on here that know me know that I know my shit when it comes to working on bikes...especially vintage bikes. I've been called 'captain carburetor' by a few members on a few occasions. That being said, there are some fucking idiots out there. I'm a member of several bike groups on facebook, one of them being cb 750 four. Someone posted a pic of a rack of carbs off a 1980 cb750 pointing at where the push cable goes and asking what went there. in the pic the butterflies were open and you could clearly see the slide in the throat and the chrome tops that house the vacuum diaphragms. The predominant reply was 'choke cable'. I won't go into details but after clearly explaining not only how cv carbs work, telling the guy where the push and pull cables and the choke cables go there were still people commenting on the page that it was 'obviously the choke'. One guy even stated that he works on cv carbs all the time and that the butterfly valves are the chokes and go on the intake side of the carbs. I wonder how good his bikes run... /rant over

Lol the vx700 isn't a bad bike if it's running correctly. Puts out a decent amount of torque over a decent rpm range. It is a 700cc vtwin tho so if you're used to a fast bike it will not impress you.

Eh... if you've already got an override box (power commander, juice box, bazazz etc) and have loaded someone else's custom map for your mods or close to them, one dyno pull will tell how close the map is to perfect IF they are running an exhaust gas analyzer. Unless there's someone there with a laptop and cables to adjust fueling there's not much you can do.

I keep thinking I need a 600...I like the idea of an f4i....I hear they're a bit more comfy than the rr...I've rode newer gsxr and r6 and I just don't fold up that easily.

Yeah there's a brain box I'd have to protect from the elements but under the seat makes a pretty good rain shelter and once I upgrade the electronics to solid state and blade fuses there will be room....I can also bag or shrink wrap it...

Considering this for my honda 850 build (that never ever ends). Would be a simple installation as the ignition switch has exactly 4 wires. Would also make it more trick because no ignition visible....and my ignition cylinder fell apart years ago and I've been running a toggle switch. The rfid tag could be kept in my wallet and the antenna could be affixed to the inside of a side cover. I simply get within a few feet of my bike and the lights and gauge comes on. My other fancy knife: kershaw leek composite blade. Spine is stainless, edge is d2 tool steel. Thing holds an edge forever And stays razor sharp.

Here's the edc drawer of my night stand, lots of kershaw in there, a few crkt and a smith and wesson. And here's a few shots of my fanciest knife, wife got it for me back before we married. The brand I think is bear and sons. Damascus blade, stainless bolster and stag horn handles. Holds an edge really well but is impossible to keep rust-free
