  1. Saber looks nice but its over my budget and too far away. Cooter, I work with the owner, he's a 65 yr old machinist. I seriously doubt he could even treat a fat hooker like a fat hooker. Bike has been taken care of, that's for sure. Definitely want to hear it start cold, I know most Hondas are cold blooded bitches anyway, so maybe it doesn't like to run cold. I'll take another gander this weekend and have him cold start it.
  2. I used a YouTube video when I built mine. That damn front takedown pin detent went whizzing across the room a few times.
  3. Yeah, I'm leaning toward buying if he accepts $1100.
  4. Those are stock pipes with the baffles punched out, so he says. They were on it when he bought it. I'm not looking for crazy power and handling, I already have a bike that does that. I want something comfy for long rides that the wifey will like. Also, buying this cruiser will allow me to convert my now cruisered-up cb750 project bike into a cafe racer and maybe sell the tls this spring and put the money into new windows for the house.
  5. Checked it out over the weekend. It's in good shape, rash on one pipe and the brake handle from a drop. Took it up and down the street, ok power but nothing like what I'm used to. One red flag: the owner had it warmed up when I got there. He came down to $1300 when I asked if he was firm on the price. A quick nada search shows its worth $1050 in good condition, $2100 in very good. I would put it between those two conditions so maybe $1300 is fair, still gonna offer him $1100. He really wants it out of his garage.
  6. So glad Lori is gone, I didn't like her anyway. Rip t. Dog. Bets on how long the baby survives?
  7. Bought my first street bike on eBay, me and a buddy trailered it back from port Clinton. Ended up being a solid deal after I put some money into it. It was a 72 cb500 and I got it for $375 running.
  8. Oh and nice swastika on your fucked over Japanese chopper ya douche, couldn't afford a beamer?
  9. I feel bad for the bike, that's one fucked-over sohc4 Honda.
  10. I ran 150's on my fzr with no problem. You can find battlax tires all day for them, sold mine off with an almost new set of bt-016 on it. I've heard of guys running 160's but it depends on the manufacturer, some will rub the brake stay. Still a fantastic cheap bike, and with a pipe/jet/k&n/timing advance key they scream pretty good.
  11. Bicycle chain. Ever tried to get that last nut/bolt/bb/rock out? Bike chain is the way to go, then phosphoric acid, it will put a skin-coat of ferric phosphate on the steel protecting it from rust. Or...... You can mix up some electrolyte (water plus washing soda) fill the tank, suspend a cast iron doohickey in the tank NOT TOUCHING ANY PART OF IT and hook a battery charger to it. Neg lead on the tank, pos on the iron. The electricity passes from the tank to the electrolyte, picks up the rust and sticks it to the iron. Use iron or mild steel, no stainless. Graphite works the best but I doubt you have a big chunk of that handy. Clean your annode daily and change the fluid every two days6-10 amps is good current. . Produces hydrogen gas in small quantities so put a fan on it.
  12. 90's fzr600. 90+ hp after a good tune, solid delta box frame, perfect 50/50 weight distribution. Only downfalls are rudementary suspension and the voltage regulators tend to fry. They share a lot of parts with other yamahas of the era and parts are plentiful.airtech still makes fiberglass race fairings if you wanted to track it. Can be found for under $2k all day long.
  13. My dad has a gen1 v45 magna, great bike. I do love the Honda v4 motor and would love to find a v65 saber or magna if I could. Waiting for the guy with the shadow to call me, and I was mistaken on the price, its $1500. Still not much, might see if I can work a pistol into the deal.
  14. I thought removing air injection stopped the popping with aftermarket pipes, at least that's what it does for the pair-equipped tl1000's.
  15. Had the same issue on an acer, was able to find just the jack online for like $2 and solder it onto the board. It is a ton of drama to get to tho, if you attempt, take pics and have a muffin pan handy for screws.
  16. Vfr, vstrom or fz1 are all great choices, the new fz8 looks sexy as fuck too. Or if you wanna go brand new for 7k I'd test out a Honda nc700. It's getting great reviews in every mag I read, but will not have the huge top end of any of the other bikes I mentioned. I would like a Vfr, maybe one day ill have one, they are superb machines.
  17. He already wrote a response on merchant circle about how these reviews are from vermillion and he doesnt even work there, and how a sweet old lady he did a job for wanted to leave a review but didn't have a computer so she mailed him one and he copied and posted it...what a load of shit. I'm going to end up looking at this prick either across a court room or from the back of a cop car eventually.
  18. I've gravity fed through the master cyl before, takes a lot of tubing, a step ladder and preferably two people. With a big bottle of fluid up on the ladder, siphon down into tube attatchrd to open bleeder nipple, it will force air and old fluid up the lines and into the master, just need to either siphon it out or suck out with turkey baster as the cup fills.
  19. Leaning towards yes. Gotta look at it first.
  20. A guy at work has a 93 1100 shadow with 37k miles on it for a grand. I have.t seen it yet but he's an old guy and takes care of his stuff. The ole lady really doesn't want me on a sport bike anymore since my wreck and she also wants something she can sit on the back of for more than a few blocks. I figure for a grand I can always sell it for a profit come spring if I don't like it. Thoughts?
  21. You can contribute pics of yourself in various stages of undress. Sharing is caring meegs.
