I am a Shoei guy, not cheap either but better all around for the money IMHO over Arai.

I am back on a Vstrom 1000 again, just love those damn bikes for how versatile and reliable they are. C14 went to some weird tall guy that is a member here, he sure seems to be enjoying the hell out of it, and I am glad it went to a great home. Buy what stirs your soul and just makes you want to go ride, if you decide you want a change.....lots and lots more choices out there.

Always thought Arai was overrated and overpriced, now I really feel justified in thinking that.

No need to flatfoot if that is your concern, so many riders feel the need to be able to do that. Many Strom owners are in fact too short for the bike, and lowering that bike ruins it "but they still do it".

New 1000 Strom coming out looks nice too, but I feel ya on the Tenere for sure.

The Stroms are the most comfortable bikes I have ever been on, and I have been on quite a few bikes. I love the neutral riding position, and I can easily put forward pegs on my crash bars so I can stretch out when needed. I like that there are just SO MANY accessories available for them, tailoring them to your comfort level is practically endless. A great saddle and a better handlebar transforms the bike immensely, I also like that if mine were to fall over, I just pick it up and go on my way. I avoid the slab like the plague, but the 1000 especially eats miles upon miles on the slab at brisk sport touring speeds. A trip to Maine proved just how comfortable and flexible the Vstroms are, we explored ALLOT of places I would never dream going on most road bikes, and they are fabulous on rough pavement and crap roads. Yeah I obviously am a fan, I am on my 2nd one in 8 years. This new 1000 is gonna be a big hit for them "again" and the improved gas mileage they are toting is gonna be a class leader.

This new 1000 is in that ballpark with allot more hp, weighs allot less than that pirate ship you ride.

I can give 2 shits less what any person says that is a professional athlete/musician/actor "whatever"......they are not in the real world like the rest of us when it comes to finances and responsibilities.

Oh it cost me believe you me......y'all have fun riding it is gonna be a pretty day.

The Big bad ass DR800 was the inspiration for the beak. And many of the ADV bikes do in fact have a beak, I for one like the look.

Yet Stroms outsell them all except for the GS, so seems to me they are pretty close to the class leader. You own a Strom, but the updated/re-designed 650 and 1000 models are much more different than the originals. Suzuki is very smart and they are testing the waters with this, don't forget that we all live in cruiser country "YUCK". Pretty safe bet I will have one in a few years,only other bike that may tempt me more is a Super Tenere.

Hater......there is no better do it all bike made out there "especially in that price range" and I am also referring to the original Stroms as well. This new model is going to be a very good seller worldwide......I guarantee it.

The GT is his latest seat for the C14, and the reviews are fantastic. You have the original design, and Loren will gladly make whatever changes you need done to it "Winter perhaps". And no I am far from rich, got one helluva deal on that $500 dollar seat. Use the conditioner cleaner that I posted, that is what I used.
