Checking out an 09 impreza 2.5i with 44k miles for $9200. Why so much below book? Mismatched paint between door and body...same color but not perfect match. Why repainted door? Well that's what I aim to find out.

If price is no object, there's no reason to get a V-Strom. The Tiger 800, FJ, several BMW models, Tenere and others all excel in paper and in the field if you're really wringing ADV bikes out to the max.

However, if you'd rather save the $4-10k difference for accessories, fuel, camping equipment and the like, and still get a bike that does everything pretty damned well for less up front and lower ongoing costs, it's hard to do better than the value of a DL650.

And as you already know and realize, what's good better or best on paper....is not always factual.

This is directed to Doc as well as anyone else who has done some comparison shopping, and hopefully even demo rides, on the 2015 Kawasaki Versys LT.  I've been loving my '09 Vstrom for the last 30,000 miles or so, but would love to have just a Wee bit (there's a pun there somewhere...) more HP and less weight.  Could always go the route of swapping the Strom cams for the SV cams and doing a remap, but I'm not convinced the HP gain would justify the cost.  So, does anyone own--or has anyone ridden--the new Versys LT?

Probably a Tiger 800 XC or FJ-09 might fit the bill for you, however the 2012 and up 650 runs pretty darn good in comparison to the first gen 650 Strom.

I doubt it. I say go shoot it and see how it is. The new S&W triggers are really good compared to the pre 2014 ones.

Yeah that is a good point, I hear the improvements have been well received.

This will be my first one and first new pistol in about 7 years.    

Please report back on what you think, and installing an Apex trigger makes the M&P's arguably the best polymer pistols out there IMHO.

I would love one of those, I am a big M&P fanboy.

Sorry but it is not that cut and dry, if it was we would all "as Christians" believe the same and do everything the same. As for what the Bible is quite clear on, once again it is all in how it is interpreted. Homosexuality is no different in the eyes of God than a lie, sin is sin to him.........man is incapable of not doing sin, but Jesus coming was the game changer. Why do you think there are so many denominations and "spin off beliefs" from the Roman Catholic Church and Judaism? Think about it this way.....if people actually followed the teachings of Christ in the Bible in their daily lives, there would be no need for all the other "man made" bullshit out there we are all subjected to non stop. Man does things for their own selfish reasons and means, this is nothing new nor will it ever stop. And if God is all knowing and you no longer associate yourself as a Christian, then would not God have known you were going to do that?   So you now denounce Christ when you at one time accepted Christ, we may fall from grace but we never fully fall to the ground.

Meh......just people judging other people regardless of beliefs, it is what we do and have always done and will always continue to do. I could care less what somebody wants to believe in, as long as it is not mentally or physically hurting another. I think over time it is obvious that we all cannot "coexist" very well, mankind has become very good at not being very kind to one another.

So much thought and muscle memory into turning off a bike, when just a single turn of the key does it all.

Excellent choice if I do say so, and I am betting you will ride it much faster in the twisty stuff than you realize at this point. Be prepared to spend some money on aftermarket goodies, and boy do the Stroms have them.

No matter how you kill the engine, on most bikes you must still turn off the key in the ignition anyways to kill the lights and other electrical goodies.......seems counterproductive and pointless IMHO to do it another way.

I never understood for once second, why anyone would use anything other than the key "if your bike uses a key" to shut it off. Now the few times on my dirtbikes where I was about to drown my bike in a water crossing, now that is the only time I have EVER hit the kill switch on a motorcycle.

Way more car than I need. This is for commuting and beer runs.

Sounds like a beater Dodge Neon would fit that bill nicely. LOL

I do need something more comfy. Nothing out there really appeals to me though.

Are you willing to travel south towards like for example "Columbus" if a good deal or trade could be made? There are shit tons of Subarus around here and dealers, I would imagine you could find what you are looking for.
