Plus for want they want on the motor alone, I was tempted to shop for whole running quad around $3500. And add all my goodies to it, and part the rest out. But I don't have the room here for my junk now, let alone another 700...

I seen one of the 2 motors relisted for $1900.00 but the thing about a used motor is you never really know why they parted the quad? And for that kinda of coin I could build a real monster 700 stroker out of mine. And I've already started ordering parts. So far I have a stage 3 hot cam on the way for $ $133.74 shipped. And a OEM cylinder for $241.69 shipped. I'm currently holding off on the piston, because I'm trying to find a local place to bore the cylinder +2mm. Only place I know is COE on Essex by 11th ave behind Jegs, I cant get them to answer the phone today, I may just drive over, to ask them if they can do it and how much. Only big bore kits online $650 and off brand cylinder works with the Vertex piston. Which is not the quality of the Wiseco or CP pistons. And the kits are crazy priced, I can get a piston for $170 to $230. and the cylinder thats $470.00 max. So that leaves a lot for the machine shop. plus I'd end up with quality piston. Alba Racing has a kit for $389. but they need a good cylinder, so there charging basicly $160 to bore your cylinder, and they probably get the CP piston a lot cheaper than the $230 I can get it for.

2yr. Only model. And the way the irs is and rhe sprocket location I doubt other engine's will work. I still think if he can get a +3 hotrod stroker crank for a decent price I may doit. He said that's where I'd get some real power gain. Instead of a +2 or 3mm piston. sent using tappetalk!

Local mechanic said bottom end appears fine. But another reputable builder said he'd change the crank. And just for shits and jiggles ebay a used cylinder. There's one for $300. And its pretty rough, I dont even know if a +3mm would clean it up. New ones cheaper around $265 and up. sent using tappetalk!

2 used ones on eBay now for $2200.00 plus shipping. sent using tappetalk!

Just guessing around 2k on miles and 400 hrs. But just a wild guess, I've had quad 4 yrs almost. At 3 yr point I had to redo the rear inboard joints (not cv). I thought that was bad at $350 in parts. This will most likely be $1200 min repair. sent using tappetalk!

Yea I didn't want to mask the sound with any music. Motor still turned over, so it didn't totally lock up but did shut down. I held clutch in asap. Mechanic said my crank was fine, but another tells me not to waste time or money w/out replacing the crank? sent using tappetalk!

Thx, going to be a expensive weekend. And this happened 3.5 miles into our ride. Atleast I didn't need towed to far. So far I've been told, low octane fuel, and holding it open to long. sent using tappetalk!

Yeah the goprp pictures in the video suck. The piston cracked the front skirt and then blew through the cylinder wall. The wrist pin was intacted, all 4 valves bent but not broken. One bent really bad. Here's cellphone pictures, didn't get one of the mangled piston. sent using tappetalk!

That's right i blew up my Honda, showing off racing past a KFx700 a couple times to many...!

Okay then just wondering how, or if it would fit through a 3O" inside door, to go down to my basement. sent using tappetalk!

Wayne National Forest May 17th 2014 Steve and I went to Wayne, Early on he bent a tie-rod, We were able to wedge a tree branch in between it and the a-arm and get it close enough to limp back to Williams. There we removed the tie-rod and got it fairly straight, and then continued our ride. Steve ended up buried and got pulled out by a brand spanking new RzR! All this in part 1 video, Part 2 contains scenes of us riding with another Renegade, and the 800 gets winched out! Later we run up on a Honda over the hill side off the trail. And end the day with Steve washing wide on a turn and finding one of those closely planted trees. And re-bends the same tie-rod. Here we were forced to remove the tie-rod in the mud, and then find rocks to lay it on and beat it straight. After this we head back to Williams and called it a day. We logged right at 50 miles, even with the mishaps....enjoy!

Okay I have a piece of video, it's poor quality due to mud on the lens. And the fact that he hits the tree exiting a corner and was out of my view. But you can see the tree and the tire track leading to it. Also note the steering wheel turned hard right and the left front pointing straight! You can see that in the icon photo for the video,

A couple pictures to help explain things better, since Steve didn't elaborate to well... Just a little out of alignment, lol.... Tie-rod bent! These pictures were from the first event! I'm looking to see if I have the 2nd incident on video.

Well if you dont count the times we took parts off and on, I guess it stayed together lol. sent using tappetalk!

Well my quad stayed together, I can't say the same for the Renegade! sent using tappetalk!

Getting the set-rings out is a pita! And the front lower arm rear bolt wouldn't clear my skid plate. So instead of putting back together and taking it off the atv stand to removed bumper nerfs and skids. I just removed the problem with my cut off wheel! And rounded off the corner of the skidplate. In this photo you can also see the recessed area of the upper arm where the set-ring sits inside the arm, about a 1/2" or so inside. . sent using tappetalk!

A-arm bearings, did the rear's then the fronts. There not cheap about $25.00 per arm, some places wanted as much as $40 per arm. Not side but per arm, and there's 8 in all err. So far I did both rear uppers, and just lubed the lowers. And then I did the front uppers, but noticed the left front lower arm was bad too. So I will have to order another couple sets of bearings to do the lower fronts soon. They kinda suck, cause honda puts a set ring on each side of the spherical bearing. And it is recessed in the arm, a real muther to get the set ring out. Heres a photo of what's in each arm. 4 set-rings, 4 dust seals, 4 collars, and 2 spherical bearings.

No usually he will tell you to call or ask someone else. Alot of times I ask him shit just because I know he has no clue.

M_Quick replied to DBPhotography's topic in Introductions
I have a sport quad black and some red, but I have a feeling my quad is dirtier than your video shoot. Well most of the time. sent using tappetalk!
