Picked quad up, needed jumped started. Ran strong, sounded sweet. Trailer'd over to my Uncle's, looked it over again. Reajusted the chain, installed new battery. Took a couple hour ride, restarted quad 4-5 times no problem. Sunday am I didn't think it was going to start. Cranked slow like out of time, but after 6 cranks it fired. We went on a long ride and 50% of the starts it fired right up. But the other half, it would crank slow then push past what I'm guessing is the compression stroke and then fire w/in 2secs. My cousin thinks once I get it tuned it will be cool. At this point idk but I think I wasted the $130 on thd new battery.

Wish I had a scale, but I'm sure one of the good ole boy's down south will have one. Anyways this is a cheap roll of dlb ply Angel soft, to help show how light this thing is.

to late, first I called ASK Grove City since there a Honda dealer. They advised me they had no battery at this time for my quad, wtf??? So I called the pony store , like mentioned above. After seeing the weight difference I went with the lithium. They said like a 3rd of the weight, but I tell you it's nowhere near that. This thing feels like what empty cardboard box this size would weigh. Specs say's 1.5 lbs, idt so. But have nothing to weigh it with. Dude at the Pony store said a battery tender is fine, and that's what they recommend, but idk? Instructions say : DO NOT Use a de-sulfation ( high voltage pulse) type charger. : DO NOT use a charger that does not have a automatic shut off feature. I bought it, so I will research and find out for sure. Cause dude also told me it was about 70 more CCA than my stock. So knowing my stock was 130 cca, I replied 200 cca? He then said 190, confirmed mine was 130. And later I read on the box 180 CCA. I hope that 50 more CCA will be plenty of boost to kick the beast with the new engine mods, it's like 38.5% more CCA.

Needing a battery for the Honda. Iron pony advised to go lithium for 130 over a gel type for $80. Question will the lithium batteries still be able to be charged regularly with a trickle charger? And are they truly worth the extra money?

Yea i guess i worded that wrong, even a bicycle isn't required to ride on the berm, that would be a real work out! Riding on the edge of road is one thing. The story you linked to said the berm! I too have always had insurance on my quad, but my kids are not listed on the policy's. I hope your right about them not messing with people. If they are truly ATV friendly, and want us to be licensed register'd and insured. IDK why they say ride on the berm. Hell that might be more dangerous than it sounds. Can you imagine doing the posted speed limit in the berm..? Nothing like some ditch drifting....
-
Thats just it, there not saying we can ride on the road, were to be on the berm like a bicycle... ATV riders will be legal to travel from the Trailheads of Wayne National Forest into the town of Carbon Hill as long as they conform to the rules and regulations of the State of Ohio and ride on the berm of the roadway.
-
Well I certainly hope carbon hill has more to offer than haydenville. Did you all read the atv laws? You must ride on the berm, possess a valid license, show proof of registration and insurance. I dont see why we'd need to be on berm, and I never knew it was required to insure quads or ORV. Still cool and like I said, I hope carbon hill has more to offer.

Oh yea that will never happen again. -
Ouch, yeah I'm sorry to hear about the damage as well. At least you and the Mrs. weren't hurt from the impact. Or was there some seat-belt bruising later? Sometimes it takes 24 hrs to feel the pain...I hope the insurance ordeal goes smoothly and your deductible is low. On a side note I'd like to make the Hog Roast this year!

The disclaimer made me tear up, I miss my bubby's... -
Love the zombie lights! Do you have any pictures of the damage? I read it in another thread, I cant imagine the a-arm damage are they pretty thin? Or was it just that hard of a impact?
-

Totally sucks! I'm wondering how you got the description of there car?

Sandi is great, she is the one I bought my Scrambler from that disappeared at mjusa. She would not let me walk away, and I tried. She started at $2600 and let me have it for half that before it was over. She did the role where they act like there calling someone for a okay a few times. And then she lol and said they call her the give away girl!

Due to the pre race down pure I left my camera in the truck. I could of got some decent pictures for sure. My seat was right across from the 18 car, but this is the 48 car with the cell phone.

lol opps! I was meaning for off topic time wasters! Sorry,,,,So you don't wanna buy my used Saturday night tickets i suppose? J/k This was my second time there. Race was okay and it's close. But it was a boring ass race if you ask me...I like Bristol, and have been to several tracks in the past.

Damn we need to get the little ones together on time, there same age. Tyler turns 12 on 7/3. I wish my 200 had a throttle stop, then I would trust him more if I could back it off to say 20-25 mph top speed.
-
Heading down to http://www.kentuckyspeedway.com/ in a bit. We will be tailgating most of the day in the Ford parking lot right across from the track. And seats are in Grand Stand 1. Is anyone else going?
-
You and me both! How old's the little one? I have one here that likes to ride as well, he's about 12. He needs more seat time, before I cut him loose and Wayne, and he would also need to to step up to the 200. Maybe next year, he will be ready.

I remember when you bailed Blake out with a couple bungees.

Lol, way to compromise and make due with what's available.

Say what you will about Partzilla, com but I've had great luck and service with them on the 2 s/o parts so far. I order'd this special order Jet, piston on Monday afternoon, and it's here early Friday afternoon!, I've herd they are extremely slow at delivery??? I sure will, I know the price is right. The OR sponsor out on W. Broad just past Galloway road, said he could tune them, but his dyno was really to big for a quad and he was concerned? This guy up North has a smaller dyno mainly used for carts. That's his specialty, and he said now that mid-Ohio is over for them it's his slow time. So easy in and out...But I will follow up for sure. I seen that happen before, and the hillbilly was just beating on the bowl with a rock I think?

I thought it just made the rest look like pussys!
