  1. Thanks for the easy transaction. Also wanted to add the battery charger is a dual charger. So you can charge both batteries at once. And it also comes with 2 usb cables. I've been wanting a newer gopro for awhile now, since the newer ones will record in low light. My HD hero sucks even before sunset. I almost got a new gopro 5, but I wasn't wild about how they don't come in the protective plastic housing. So for around half the price of the new 5 model, I'm very pleased. I've alrdy ordered a remote, protective skin, and a foam padded storage case.
  2. If I go I don't wanna hang at camp either.
  3. I thought you just add oil to the fuel. And the magic happens inside the crank case!
  4. @ max power Do you know if you are you going for sure this weekend?
  5. I was wondering how cold it can be outsiide, and still be able to use the smoker half way efficiently?
  6. Thx, I've read/herd anywhere from 2-6 hours of smoke, I did about 3hrs. yeah turned out well, was a big hit with the kids. And it was just a cheap piece of meat $0.88 lb, can't imagine what fresh from the butcher would be like.,
  7. Turned out awesome! Kids all ate seconds, and asked if we could have it for dinner tomorrow! Idk what kind it was, just that it was a big pork but.
  8. it's wrapped in foil now in the tenderizing stage. About how long can i expect this to take to reach 195 degrees? I don't want to keep checking unnecessarily, and i don't want to over cook either. .
  9. Nice! What size Gade did you get?
  10. Ok I will, I plan to get up early and get it going.
  11. Like 225 for inside smoker, right?
  12. Okay thanks for all the help.
  13. Lol, it is going to be mine. And I was afraid to let it go over night. Do you simple add chips when it stops smoking?
  14. Yeah I know the door thermometer is just for internal temp. And I will use meat probe to tell when to wrap meat and when it's done. You say you put a pork shoulder in for 12 hrs and let it go? Does that mean you don't have to mess with adding chips or basting? I wanna do a pork but tomorrow.
  15. I'm wondering how accurate or inaccurate your door thermometer is? I plan on getting a dual probe remote one, but for now I just have a digital meat probe.
  16. The pre seasoning directions I followed called for a half a cup of wood chips for the last 45 minutes of the 3-hour burn time. The half a cup only seem to smoke for 20 minutes or so, it wasn't very much wood at all. Barely if covered the bottom of the burn bowl. Is that all you're really supposed to put in there at a time, like I've read never no more than a half a cup?
  17. Pre seasoning the Virgin smoker!
  18. Thx, that's what I'll have the wife pickup later tonight along with some meat and seasonings. On my way home I picked up a cheap meat probe thermometer, 3 different kinds of wood chips, meat shredder, marinade injector, and a chicken holder. Should be able to smoke something this weekend! From what I can tell I have a cheaper smoker, so I hope it works okay. The main reason I say its cheaper is, there is no door seal. Some I've seen have a seal similar to oven doors. I don't know what the wife paid for the unit yet, but I will once the credit card statement arrives. This was a b-day gift, I will post pictures tomorrow sometime.
  19. lmao! Hey my smoker arrived early, wasn't supposed to be here till Monday. Book that came with it says to preseason smoker run on high for 3 hrs with no water or wood, and last 45 mins add 1/2 a cup of wood. I thought I read somewhere to rub inside walls down with some sort of oil?
  20. Yeah you gotta have something to do while you're waiting on the smoker. But if you smoked weed all day, you would end up passed out before the brisket was ready. And wake up the next morning to a lump of charcoal.
  21. Well shit, I was thinking I needed the higher dollar one. To keep from opening the door to check meat temp. Maybe get the remote one and verify temp with a good quality kitchen probe, like the last 2 linked in this thread.
  22. Nice, I also recently added 2 of the 4ft. Triple tube led lights in my garage. I need a couple more, but for now I'm still using the 2 dbl tube florescents. The LED's but the old florescents to shame.
  23. Is that a decent price from wal*mart? Also wondering if this dual probe remote thermometer looks decent enough? https://www.walmart.com/ip/Maverick-ET73-Digital-Wireless-Remote-BBQ-Meat-Thermometer-Monitors-Meat-Barbecue-Grill-Smoker-Temperature-Includes-1-extra-6-Foot-Meat-Probe-1-extra/179985175#about
  24. Thanks for all the tips guy's. I'm geeking to get my smoker. And Giant Eagle has pork loin on sale this week! I looked online at wally world for thermometers and chips. They sale a shit load of thermometers online. And the chips are like 2 or 3 lbs bags. How long would a 3 lb bag last, 1 2 or several smokes? I'm hoping they have some apple for the pork, but if not I'll hit up a h/ware store.
